I think SRK said somewhere that he wants to do roles appropriate for his age and indirectly accepted that a large part of audience watched his movies as a gesture of support. That is pretty high self awareness for a movie star.
I think his speech is reflective of the stories and characters he wants to associate with now. Those holding him accountable for the roles he’s played previously are dismissing the concept of an evolution of an actor at this stage of his career
@@seventeencarat7090becz Ranbir gave a 1000cr hit (it's still running in theatre and goona cross 1000cr) at just 40 and he is better actor than srk and he is everyone's fav except ranveer and Deepika and their PR team
Maybe he said that because secretly he might be playing a big role in Don 3, where towards the end we see Ranveer killing him and becoming the new Don.
@@Sidharth_Das_50what's it with just "Bollywood"? Literally most actors in every industry barely keeps their word about what they preach. Being a Malayali, I know the kind of cringeworthy stuff we hear from our actors everyday.
I beg to differ with SRK. SRK played 'Don'. In that movie, he overcomes all odds by killing the good guy - Vijay. He didn't make sure that Don gets atleast a considerable suffering. 😢
the reason why srk's stance has changed on playing a dark character over the years is because he himself acknowledges the influence he has on the audience, i remember i once saw an interview of srk and in that interview he told that he had turned down the role of ala uddin khilji from padmavat because he knew he would make the character likable. and he didn't wanted such an awful character to be liked or idolized by the audience . i think this is the main reason for his change in approach in selecting roles over the years, as earlier, he was a struggling actor but now he is well established and know his influence over the masses , but then again maybe its just his personal choice which has evolved over the years.
He has said repeatedly that staring at Kajol in kuch kuch hota hai was wrong and he feels wierd when his children watch them. That's the difference between a man & bois
It is just an excuse to avoid playing challenging characters because he understand his limitations as an actor he cannot play Alauddin Khilji he cannot play animal character so it's just an excuse oh I don't want to play such characters because it affect society Joker😂
I believe that as one of the most beloved artists in India, he understands the importance of taking responsibility for his character's development. Perhaps this is why he chose to leave the role of Don Franchisee. The irony is that just a year ago, the same news media outlets that are now praising him were spreading negativity about him. Man, he is a silent warrior.
That man possesses an aura. His movies were attacked, family was attacked, a move that actually backfired on the haters bcz true fans came in his support massively and that chews those haters. Never have i witnessed the whole country gather behind an actor as great as srk. Yes there are many stars but SRK is in a different universe now.
I think SRK has evolved so much because the millions of people who look upto him and the things he do on the screen may influence this current generation as there is always a chance that heroes doing grey shades may become a trend like animal and people will try to imitate it, i respect his opinion it's his choice to do or not to commit such grey shades movies in the upcoming future
@antarikshchoudhury173Well, I guess it psychological. There are some films which people try to repeat after seeing in films and somethings which they don't try.
When we compare the negative roles of Darr, Anjaam and Don, there is a major difference. Anjaam and Darr belongs to a genre where the negativity comes because of hatred where in Don the negativity is because of profession. Hence, emotions generated in them are different.

I think he just meant not to glorify an incorrect character if he played though.... Nothing more and i would definitely love to see srk collaborate with Neeraj Pandey in a thriller and Shoojith sarkar for a drama. ❤
I agree. Because if people are liking kabir singh and Ranvijay in animal, they are gonna take some things from character and those things may stay with them for their lifetime.

SRK is a multifaceted human being and not merely an actor to whom KK Mennon’s comment would apply to. Understanding the responsibility of his persona carries for mass entertainment and limiting himself as an actor for the goodness of society is commendable. The world can do more with goodness even if it costs creativity.
You guys are so gullible. Don't even see through the subtle agendas in his movies. That's not on him, that's on the director. As far as future roles of SRK is concerned, I think SRK should do roles which are intense. That may be related to common man or larger than life, but intense. Last few movies which have not done well like Zero and to some extent Dunki is a prime example where people dont want to see him as a "chokra" doing slightly slapstick kind of role. People want him in intense roles with some gravity. Even Dear Zindagi role was too good where we had to take Jehangir seriously from scene 1.

But, he should now take up roles like Swades and Dear Zindagi because audience is now matured and more people want these veteran stars to take up roles appropriate of their age. something that Amitabh Bacchan did in the early 2000s.

Even Box Office India made a note. What is the evidence against SRK? Are you jealous of SRK because your mom wants to have sex with him? @GSS77712
He didn’t talk about animal nor any other actor, see his old interview aap ki adalat 90s interview, he literally says the same . So that’s his mindset which is good and he’s not targeting anyone,he’s talking about himself
Difference is that that was an interview, he was probably asked about that. And this was a speech, he had no need to add this statement. He was clearly taking a dig at Animal
I guess in Animal, the ending was quite apt.. See, looking at a character like Ranvijay... I can say that he was not the one who was afraid of dying... He fought 100 of men alone after asking his cousins to stop and sing... he had several injuries and was dying but acted normally.. Because his biggest fear was losing his father ... And seeing his the lerson he loves the most, dying because of cancer helplessly was an apt ending punishment for him.
Couple of years ago they were hounding him today they are wagging their tails for him. It kinda shows how far dignity and humbleness can take you, we all should learn a thing or two from how srk carries himself
I think it’s something that he said considering himself… the position in which he is currently, the fan following, the attention that he gets even for smallest thing… so such roles if he does then it might spread even more and bad among his followers which I guess he doesn’t want it to happen… that’s why he said that if he plays such role at the end he should die badly in that role…
I think a lead of the film not always have to be a good guy...a bad guy can lead the film just like Don...But if you are portraying anti hero than obviously he is supposed to do bad things...you can't expect him to do good things...what is wrong in case of films like Kabir Singh is that Kabir is not shown as a villian but a hero of the film where he is doing everything wrong...whereas in films like Bazigar, Don, Anjam SRK is playing a bad guy so he is suppose to do bad things..... that's why it make sense when he made that statement...
Not every anti-hero have to die at the end of the movie. That would make the genre too predictable which is what Animal & reboots of Don did by staying away from the usual endings.
I think Srk should play a character of psychologist as he did in dear zindagi with different stories being him the central character. Or a movie of family man where he will save country from consequences of Artificial Intelligence
I believe SRK means that he makes sure the characters face consequences for the actions they do. In KANK Dev has an affair with Maya and that destroys his marriage and permanently damages the relationship with his son.

Also really tired of explaining that the issue isn't with violence and violence against women shown in film if it's relevant to story arc, but the issue is glorifying the actions done in the film. After Jared Akhter's criticism, animal pr posted "let love be free from politics of gender" are they for real? That is the issue being irresponsible with your choice of words than filmaking

Everyone seem to be completely missing the point that in Animal, in the end Ranvijay loses. He couldn't save his father no matter what he tried. In the process, he lost his senses (literally), alienated his wife and traumatized his kids, he didn't also get the love and affection of his father. So Animal is not glorifying anything. Even if he got a happy ending, i would have still liked it. Its a fictional character, kya justify karna hai? As long as you have brains you’re good to go. People should complain about real world issues instead of complaining about movies. Like what, you got your feelings hurt by a fictional character? 😂😂
He is absolutely right! Movies that portray negative consequences for the protagonist can be a double-edged sword. On one hand, they emphasize the real-life repercussions of poor choices or immoral actions, sending a cautionary message about the importance of ethical behavior. However, when these negative outcomes are glorified and stylized, there's a risk that the intended lesson gets lost in the allure of the cinematic presentation. The danger lies in the potential for the youth to romanticize the rebellious or anti-heroic behavior, overlooking the underlying message about accountability. It's crucial for filmmakers to strike a balance, ensuring that the narrative serves as a powerful reminder rather than inadvertently glamorizing actions that may lead to adverse consequences in reality.
My two cents on SRK's negative roles: I think the genre or tonality of Don is different from that of other movies like Darr and Baazigar where he's played a negative character. Those movies are dramas/thriller that is centred around a few characters and a stand-alone story, with high emotional stakes and so on. Characters in these movies are (supposedly) realistic - as much as they could be within Indian cinema, I mean. So here, it's sort of more important to see the bad guys punished, or if they win, it should be devastating and not celebrated within the world of the movie (unless it's a sattire, but none of these are). Don, on the other hand, is like a comic book franchise - no one walks into the theatre expecting it to reflect our lives or even the world we live in. It's like a fantasy and we just want style and mass and see the adventures of some character - could be a superhero or a good guy (as it most often is), or a charming, charismatic bad guy (like Don). So I don't think there's amy hypocrisy on SRK's part here (but as you pointed out, even if there was, this is SRK of 2024 - the last Don movie came out in 2011 and people evolve with time).
So what should ranbir do , shall he stop experimenting ? Doing just one genre ? Playing romantic character all the time If ranbir does that he is not an actor , because it fails the entire idea of being in acting profession if you getting typecast , i think only ranbir is true actor because he had portrayed so many different characters in his career .
Movies were used to entertain people, but now they consider it a university. Why do we 'have to' learn from movies? Man!!! We should grow up as a society.
What about Don?!! Bro is forgetting that he is an actor, so it is very bold to claim he makes sure the bad guy dies . It is the story writer and the director who decides what happens to the character
3 Directors: 1. Sanjay Leela Bhansali: Devdas was one of the best SRK movies of all time, it has been etched in the history of the INDIAN film industry. A reunion between the two would be interesting. 2. Sandeep Reddy Vanga: I know, I know, controversial but I wanna see him play a villain or anti-hero in an SRV movie, similar to his role in Darr, Duplicate, and Bazigaar. 3. Anurag Kashyap: While his aura is such that Anurag's screenplay writing of almost a Western would be somewhat crazy I wanna see him in a true Anurag Kashyap-style movie. Another name, I know, would never happen is Quentin Tarantino. I want to see him in a Hollywood Western with or opposite Christopher Waltz, and Samuel L. Jackson. Michael Madsen, Tim Roth, and Leo Caprio.
I think more than SRK changing his stance on what film stands for, he has just come to the natural realisation that he has become a larger than life persona at this point, SRK the person is so influential and so powerful that he has the power to influence millions. Whether you like it or not, a significantly large part of our population still sees films and certain actors as gods and will follow them. And I think SRK understand that he more than anyone else will be the one that gets followed and worshipped the most, which is probably why he wants to do morally good roles. Simply because he understands his influence and wants to be responsible. Surely, that limits his creativity but maybe he's giving more priority to the 'with great power comes great responsibility' type mindset and maybe will exercise his creativity in his producing ventures instead.
Nowadays people takes everything for themselves...why SRK simply was talking about his journey and his life ..but no everything is a problem to them ..🤧
Two collaborations 1. Shah + Vikramaditya Motwane (SK vs SK / Shah vs Saif) / (Or my preference Lootera version) 2. Shah + Dibakar Banerjee (Any movie based out of Delhi - Kinda like Khosla or Oye Lucky )
I think that Shah Khan knew the extent of the influence of films on young people and their strong attachment to the characters, especially when there is a kind of evil and madness in them, as the film Darr, Anjam and Ram Jane did, which left negative feelings among fans for several years
I was watching some of your videos from 2020 a time which all of us wants to erase form our memories but what I realize after some of those is the lack of big releases in Bollywood made you create videos about some underappreciated gems of not only Hindi but also different languages of our country which made me remember one thing which my art teacher ones told me that tougher time makes us reach deeper part of our personality to really even if for a short period of time make us thankful for little things which makes life bearable thank you for your work and please continue to your great work for as long as you feel desireable.
