I love how friendly Malakai's diplomacy lines are, especially to non-Dwarfs. Very late now but I think Thunderer was the wrong skill to choose there, since you only have two of them in your army. I personally would've gone for Tradition & Innovation first to buff your Airforce. As you saw in the battle with the Greenskins they're completely insane already and can be buffed to even melt some of the more powerful armies like the ones late-game Chaos can field, although for larger targets you may want to swap the Brimstone Guns for Trollhammer Torpedoes and then keep the standard ones with their Armour-Piercing projectiles. Lots of skill points left though so you can always come back in the future. Malakai's Tinkerer skill also gives a chunky reload buff to your Goblin Hewers to make them even stronger. I would definitely consider an Alliance with the Empire and Katarin too, you're all going to be against Norsca and Chaos very soon and any Southern enemies they'll acquire will be too far away to bother you much. Especially since Ungrim is actually very strong around Karak Kadrin. And I'd take the ruin of Fire from Malakai and give it to Ungrim's son instead. And Wulfrik continues with his plan of suicide lol

Ironside Saga #8 Though he cannot put his finger on exactly what the exact reason why is, the Darklands don't feel right at all to Morgris. It isn't the lack of mountains that bothers him, rather it is something specific to this place and he knows this. He and his brother have come south at the direction of Malakai Makaisson and as their leader begins his campaign to reclaim The Silver Pinacle, the two brothers find themselves stationed along a key supply route and trade route. On the day that Malakai's forces are to fight at The Blasted Expanse, a Cathayan caravan appears and at first, it seems like the two sides will be able to enjoy each other's company in peace. However the Cathayan wheels hardly stop turning for a moment before trouble emerges and the two sides find themselves facing battle together. "To arms everyone, move to face the north west. It looks like we're not done with the Disciples of Hashut just yet and they've brought the Drippin Fangs alongside them," Undur shouts as he walks towards the front of the army. "Cathayan long guns in front, dawi crossbows behind them. We'll cut them down from a distance on the ground while our long ranged firepower forces them to come to us if they really want this battle!" Though not under Undur's command, the soldiers of Cathay obey these orders once their commanding officer condones them. The two unexpected allies anchor their right flank against a rock formation that creates some impassable terrain and claim a slight rise in ground level to make it easier for the bugman's rangers to shoot over the crane gunners of the caravan. Two units of jade lancers are stationed along the left flank in order to guard against flanking attacks. The caravan's jade warriors w/halberds form up directly behind the rangers. A short distance behind them, the four units of artillery from both armies begin firing at the incoming enemy. The two units of great cannons fire first, and using the observations of this volley provided by the caravan's two sky lanterns, the crews of the grudge throwers fine tune their aim accordingly and then fire. For his part, Morgris and his pilots stand watch over the right flank as they keep an eye on their enemy's missile cavalry. The spider and wolf goblin riders numbers are immense, their numbers alone could be enough to make up for their arrows lacking much in the way of armor piercing damage. The goblin cavalry takes the lead over their infantry in the advance, heading straight for the right flank of the dwarf and Cathayan joint force. Undur's dwarf warriors march into place, using the same rock formation as their comrades to anchor their flank against the goblins and they form a shield wall. The artillery keeps on firing with a tremendous tempo, their crews giving everything that they have to give in order to cut down as many goblins and hobgoblins as possible while time allows. The main force reaches the point of being 300 meters away and closing. Having waited patiently for their enemy to get closer, the crane gunners level their weapons and take aim with nearly no chance to miss the massive wave of incoming targets. Above them, one sky lantern begins firing on the spider and wolf riders that lead the secondary force of goblins towards the dwarf shield wall. Their shoots have no impact against such numbers, but the gyrocopter pilots and dawi below still welcome the efforts of their flying ally. In a wave of thunder, the crane gunners fire their first volley and hundreds of the distant goblins fall to the ground! The next wave of bullets is equally as deadly and is joined both by the second sky lantern and the crane gunners aboard the caravan master's own sky lantern. Their combined firepower turns whole units of goblins into corpses while Morgris and his pilots move to the side of the cavalry in order to force at least some of it to come after them. All four units of hobgoblin wolf riders give chase to the dawi pilots, but they face Morgris one on one on a unit bases without the help of their spider riding allies and allow for their dwarf adversary to get close enough to fire back! His aim true, Morgris strikes down his first foe with a blast of steam and kills both rider and mount. He picks his next target, adjusts his aim for it, and fires again to add another kill to his name while the flames of his fellow pilots set the unfortunate wolves ablaze along with their riders. Against the dawi firepower, the hobgolin wolf riders remain strong and try to use their mobility to make themselves a harder target to hit. This move prevents more casualties, but is not enough to stabilize their morale so the wolf riders break away from the fighting and allow Morgris to take his pilots to engage the spider riders with deadly effectiveness. As another volley of bullets flies down range, Undur comments on the crane gunners' performance, "Though the goblins numbers are great, it is not enough to hide the number of dead that these crane gunners have amassed. Entire units worth of goblins have been eliminated before they have even reached our line. Several units have routed, so we're going in the right direction." He looks to his right, "Morgris seems to be making the most of the situation. He's probably engaging the goblin cavalry, and he'll no doubt make short work of them." Though the goblins from Drippin Fangs remain intact except for their goblin cavalry, the hobgoblins are in no shape to fight and the leader of the Drippin Fangs can see this. Knowing that their lone army cannot take on two armies, this leader makes the decision to conduct a full retreat from the battlefield and save what he can. This decision to retreat spurs the hobgoblins into retreating as well but they remain in the reach of the crane gunners for some time and so many of their number do not make it out alive. Watching the retreat from above, Morgris comments on the situation, "Lord Makaisson will need to be informed of this battle. We'll also need to hunt down the remaining bits of that hobgoblin army and its leader if we're to ensure that the Disciples of Hashut are finished. However, I think that our job here just got a little bit easier. That will be especially true once Lord Makaisson starts taking ground against Drippin Fangs."

Ordinary dwarf cannon with grapeshot ... the most disgusting weapon in the entire game. I made sure to have two in every army I created after I got that upgrade. It's an INSANE damage dealer.

Great video! It suck how your flame cannon gyrocopter does so much friendly fire to itself. Is it just because they line up one in front of the other? So that causes the back row to shot the front row or something else? Loving the campaign. Good luck with your new child.

I feel Norsca needs a new legendary lord or two, like a Fimir one to flesh out the Fimir more and maybe a new Norscan Human lord. But what they need most is a rework to the monster hunts, patronage to the Chaos Gods, and new and reworked generic lords and heroes and their skill trees. They don't need anything gigantic, just a new legendary lord, new generic lords and heroes, and massive reworks to the faction mechanics so Norsca doesn't sit at the bottom of the strength list forever.

I know they're often forgotten about but Ogre Kingdoms definitely need some love in the form of being a part of another DLC or just a big sweeping update.

I don't think that Malakai was actually doing 2.5k damage to begin with. I think he was always doing this amount of damage, his unit stat card was just misrepresenting the damage value. If he was actually doing 3.2 k damage he would have been 2 and 3 shotting lords.

I feel Norsca are in a pretty good spot, IE wise, I do feel that they need a quick look at Lords and Heroes though, the Chieftain's Skill Tree is meh and there is only one Lord choice, having a caster Generic Lord and a Marauder generic Hero would round it all off.

I would love it if they ended with a grand finale as a thank you yo all the players over these years. And maybe a random free DLC a year after the final DLC as a surprise un announced just like here you go. And then maybe somehow open up the game and give access to assets to Moddershall somehow. But I don't know how modding works. But to ensure it loves for many more years.
