The goats are surprised to learn they didn't do enough works for Christ because they are under the law and not grace. The law can only condemn; you either follow it perfectly or you fail.
Woah go read the whole chapter. Christ said the righteous shall be saved and also gives parables in the chapter and also says He shall remember those who fed and clothed Him.
@@ZealousCatechumens So the Gospel is then "believe in me and help the needy and thou shall be saved"? As long as you help one needy person then you're saved and if you don't you're not? That's not how it works, sorry. The righteous are those who have been forgiven of their sins. The goats are unforgiven and under the law, therefore they are held accountable for not helping the needy enough. To know what is good and to not do it is a sin.

it's curious the reactions of both parties, isn't it? the goats respond "lord, when did we see you and NOT do these things?" the sheep respond "lord, when did we see you and do these things?" the goats think they've done good works, whereas the sheep were not aware of any good they had done. the contrast in the different mindsets is stark.
The sheep are HUMBLE.. They're not going around thinking, or even worse, telling other people "Oh look at me doing such great works! I'm definitely earning rewards in Heaven". The goats, on the other hand, are prideful

@@NikoFinn This is your flawed interpretation not what proper exegesis of Matthew demonstrates. Again Jesus’s point is not about hell, he’s saying the goats will be disciplined.
I love the simplicity of the Gospel! We are saved by God's Grace in what Christ did for us by having faith that this declaration by God is actually true! If works are required why didn't Paul say; It is by grace you have been saved through faith and works?
All of these parables used against free grace in this chapter actually go against works salvation if you just pay attention to the response of the condemned. They show a serious lack of understanding of who Christ is.
@CatholicTruth101 Its actually certainly against ur works salvation. How silly to use a passage where the sheep testify of no works wheras the goats testify of always doing the works, as a works salvation passage. This is the same issue works salvationists have with matt 7:21-23. Did u even watch the video before u commented?
@CatholicTruth101 yes the people who testified of nothing were commended for doing one thing whereas the people testifying of doing all the works were rebuked for missing 1. And this is somehow still a works salvation passage. Love that u brought up John 10:27 but have ignored everything surrounding it where Jesus makes it clear that it’s those who believe who are the “sheep that follow him”. Nothing about works
@CatholicTruth101 u needa do some more reading, and I mean actual reading. Not letting ur “apostolic fathers” or whatever the hell read for u. The Bible contradicts the notion that any man will ever be justified by the works in the sight of God, multiple times. Here’s some scripture: ephesians 2:8-9, Roman’s 4:1-5, Roman’s 11:6, Isaiah 64:6, the list goes on but no score of verses is going to matter, if u actually read them. And I’m done replying. Not here to debate with someone too proud to recognize they can’t save themselves. Debating is, ironically, a sin, so ur sinning rn while trying to tell me that works get u to Heaven. Lol
Amen Brother. I might add a little… Keyword for me is „ye cursed“! „Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:“ Matthew 25:41 KJV That can only refer to a certain group of fellas: „For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.“ Galatians 3:10 KJV But not for us though, because: „For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.“ Romans 10:4 KJV
Not sure if you’ve done this one, but can you do a video on 1 John 5 16-19? I’ve seen people weaponize this verse and I’d like to get a better understanding.
@Lottieloves287 Hello, if you go to the videos page and put 1 John 5:16-19 in the search engine it will show if there is a video that Onorato did on this passage. God bless you sister.
I think you mean those who believe in sinless perfection who believe that those who are born of God will never commit sins again. There is only one who is perfectly sinless - Jesus Christ the Righteous. The verse is not commanding sinless perfection, but as Jesus said to the leper in John 5:14 "go and sin no more." It is what Jesus wants us to strive for. To go and sin no more means to do your very best to resist sin. To repent of sin, to turn from sin. To put sin to death. To crucify the flesh. To flee from sin. It is just a new attitude towards sin. We used to love it, but because Christ saved us now we hate it. We'll never be perfect in this life, but we can strive to be Holy. And He will forgive us! The gift of salvation is free, we do not contribute anything to our salvation other than the sin that made the crucifixion necessary. But the fruit, the product, the effect of salvation is to go, and sin no more.
@@Called_Out_Ones OK, that was good. I love the truth! A Christian friend once said to me "All truth is God's truth." My immediate reaction was to think that he was being syncretistic. Then it dawned on me, it's that same as saying, "Everything that is true comes from God." Argue with that! Lol! Then I thought: "Duh."
What Paul said was the initiation of salvation, salvation has to start somewhere. Faith is critical part of it, believing and trusting God is a burden starting from God himself, since he has to show himself as trustworthy. God gives them reason to have faith. 'Faith comes by hearing, and hearing the word of God'. Faith prepares the mind and heart for action, and makes the follow through. This follow through is the essential determinant of the claim of faith, for anyone can claim to have faith. This is now what is defined as work: 'Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.' Later, by work he sacrificed his son Isaac as the follow through of his faith. Paul said, 'Work out your salvation with fear and trembling'. James also said, 'Faith without works is dead.' It's like the lamp with oil, any may claim it has oil, but only those that will light a fire will confirm the claim, and this is what Jesus said about that parable. The problem with the 'goats' is that their lack of faith, or subjective faith, focuses on the credit of their 'righteous acts', while at the same time ignoring certain commands, like sins they refuse to repent with. For example, the second commandment talks about idolatry, and in 1Jn 5:21 it says, 'Dear children, keep yourselves from idols.' However, they would make reasons to make the use of idols as ok. No wonder its domino effect result in other aspects of doctrine, producing dogma and strange teachings, meant to sugarcoat sin and highlight the dependency on 'good works' for salvation.
Always apreciate your videos Ono, this was awesome. I'd like to ask, are you familiar with Ezekiel 36:25, this seems to be a passage that lordshippers will point to to prove that salvation under the new covenant results in a change of life and behavior etc. What are your thoughts? Thanks.
If salvation doesn't result in anything, then what did Paul mean when he said we are NEW creatures in Christ? What does it mean to put off the old self and put on the new? What does Romans 6 mean to you?
Hey ono. I was hoping you could watch pastor Landon’s sermon on John 3:16. Not everyone who recite John 3:16 will be saved. It kind of blew my mind. I think the issue we need to focus on is what believing actually is. He has some great analogies, which has kind of changed my thoughts. I still agree with faith alone in Christ alone.but it does convince me that an action comes with it. Anyways I love u bro and what u do.
Do you think when the Bible says, that we are saved by grace through faith alone, that it means that as long as someone believes Jesus exists, they will be saved, or do you think repentance of all sin is also a requirement of salvation? If anyone can help me by answering this, it would be very much appreciated. I think we aren’t saved by works, but that repentance isn’t works, rather repentance is the result of true and saving faith. Can anyone help by confirming this for me?

what i wanted to ask is the part where Jesus said truly i tell you whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me, what does Jesus mean about "these little ones" and who are the brothers and sisters of mine. it reminds me of the scripture when Jesus said, "who are my mother who are my brother, anyone who does the will of my Father are my brothers, sisters, and mothers"
The contrast in their compassion towards others needs more discussion here, as in this passage, Jesus cites this as the reason for their different consequences. Sounds to me like he’s either commending or condemning the nations according to how they treated God’s people. These could be non-Christian masses who didn’t hear the gospel, but judged on how they responded to the sufferings of believers. Paul said those who never heard would be ‘a law unto themselves.’
I think it should be noted Jesus wasn’t saying goats will suffer eternal punishment, he used a word that meant season or age. This is clear when we properly understand the analogy, goats like sheep are valuable animals but they’re more stubborn and resistant than sheep. Shepards and ranchers don’t just kill goats for this, instead they take the extra time to discipline them more.
What are the world's two biggest organized religions? My theory is that the goats will make up Catholics and Muslims who will statistically by numbers alone will be among the groups of people who remain at the end. Both believe in a different works based Gospel or outright deny His Deity and because of this don't know Jesus.
But the passages clearly describe the actions of the goats vs that of the sheep.. the sheep gave food, drink, clothing and comfort to the least of their brothers while the goats did not. Is this claiming that believers will inevitably do good deeds? I don’t understand how you interpret that in light of Roman’s 4:5 which says faith will be counted as righteousness for the one who does not work. Will a believer do good deeds or not?
Yes, if work is not relevant for salvation then why Christ mentioned it at all? What about the sheep who did no good works? There are many Christians do not practise good works. @OnoDiamante kindly answer

The believer will be judged to determine whether or not they receive a reward. In the Catholic Church a homosexual priest can still institute the Eucharist and the Eucharist will still be valid as they cite the Eucharist is ultimately under the influence of the Holy Spirit. Try and get your head around that one, LOL.
This judgement is strictly for those alive at the end of the Tribulation isn't it? When Christ mentions it in Matthew the context is "WHEN the son comes in glory". It's for a specific time, isn't it? "When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left."
Onorato you can’t tag Mat 7 into this. That is not what Mat 25 says, because Our Lord Jesus Christ would had separate the sheep from the goats on the based of Faith not based on works. “24 You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.” James 2:24

You didn't read the full passage... You missed the context. If you do not love, you clearly have no faith. How do you love? Through feeding the hungry, visiting the lonely, clothing the naked, etc... Works don't save you, but the absence of works/ love implies you don't know the Father!
I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, so that no man could boast For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life There is none righteous, no, not one: What must I do to get saved? Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved. He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.” But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. 2 Timothy 2:13 13 If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself
The sheep are saved, the goats are lost. The sheep are righteous by faith alone, in Christ alone, by grace alone, and the goats are self-righteous who trust in themselves to be saved from hell and, as Matthew 7 states, the goats can talk about Christ and God's Word but they have never believed the Gospel of grace to be saved. They add their own works to the gospel and therefore have a false gospel
You can interpret dogmatic all you want, but the fact is, that Jesus clearly talks about actively practicing neighborly Love in Matthew 25:31-46. And those, who have mainly done those righteous works, are those, who have earned the right to an eternal Life in the kingdom of Heaven. And those, who have NOT done so, the unjust, will be rejected! The dogmatic man-made LIE: "Faith alone saves, not the works", were invented to fool people into NOT doing the will of God/The Creator; and to fool people into NOT following Jesus. - IF the works don't matter for your salvation, then you can theoretically commit any degree of evil - and break every Law of The Creator - as long as you believe in a dogma, which claim that LIE. The EVIL potential of believing in such a LIE is limitless! ONLY those, who prefer evil over good, would believe in such a twisted and corrupt dogma! "By their fruits you shall know them; the good from the evil." (Jesus) ”Therefore, all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the Law and the prophets.” (Jesus, Matthew 7,12) ”Why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and DO NOT the things which I say?” (Jesus, Luke 6.46)
@@practice-righteousness Yeah, I used to be caught up in the whole easy believism lie until I completely shipwrecked my faith and had to be humbled to see the truth of scripture. Praise the Most High!
I praise THE HOLY TRINITY for Matthew 25 because anyone will tries to twist that chapter will expose himself as an obvious liar obedience is part of the true GOSPEL without obedience there is no salvation so if you read the HOLY BIBLE and don't obey it GOD is not going to use his grace to save you even if you have faith in HIS finished work on the cross and part of disobeying GOD all glory be to HIS great NAME is twisting the scriptures to justify the false doctrines you believe
Not convincing, how can you say not because of their deeds when Christ says it is because of what they did not do i.e., feed, take care of etc. Plus the running themes throughout are those of readiness and works ...the talents, the virgins...consistently there is the theme of action Nonetheless when Christ says one of these perhaps He speaks of those who aided Israel in their time of need. Thus not doing so is to stand in opposition. I do believe that salvation is by grace through faith but the way you get to that conclusion here is scruffy work.
A concept I'm a word is the idea it contains if you do not have with the author intended you have a misconception; but Jeremiah said seek the Lord Isaiah said seek the Lord and King David the Lord, Solomon said seek the Lord. When Jesus said seek you first the kingdom of God and his righteousness in Matthew 6:33 contextually. But if you have a hananiah from Jeremiah 28 who said God has said when he has not said or false prophet from 1st Kings 10:11 through 23 who says come this way when God told you to go another way. Best to check your theology with God. Please see Matthew 13 verses 18 through 25, and read the whole Bible the King James is not a perfect translation but read it all. Let every man pray for wisdom. The everybody may know the Excellency of God that you may consider yourself dear friends and so clearly explicate his reasonings amongst the populace. Go deep with God in the beginning was the word and the word was called in the word was with God John 1-1.
@JoeRobinsonJr once you finally figure out that is by grace alone and faith alone no one can convince you any other way. I've already tried that works way and I was miserable and nothing changed. In fact things got worse. Once you have it you just know it! I do pray for them though.
Well its true that there are numerous verses that talk of people being saved through faith and belief. However I think your fundamental error is that you interpret faith/belief to mean purely intellectual belief. The orginal Greek word used in these verses is a transliteration of the verb pisteuó. So this is the act of trusting in, entrust having faith in, being persuaded by the Lord. You then argue that these verses overide the verses that teach those who do immoral actions will not spend eternity with God and those who what is right will spend eternity with God, such as the verses in Matthew 25. So if you're right and all we have to do is intellectually believe then the two demon possessed men in Matthew 8:29 are saved. They saw Jesus Christ and they stated that he is the son of God. So will demon possessed people will be in heaven?
@OnoDiamante There's nothing more important than salvation, so it's extremely important to take this seriously. If you're wrong about this, there will be eternal consequences, both for you and anyone who believes in what you're teaching. So if all you need to be saved is intellectual belief, then you should be able to demonstrate this both logically and through scripture.
@OnoDiamante I'm using the words 'intellectual belief' in the standard everyday meaning of those words. You don't need me to give you a dictionary definition of those words. I've watched a few of your videos, and if I remember correctly you yourself have previously defined belief as meaning intellectual belief.

In Matthew 25:31-46, BOTH the sheep and the goats are unbelievers. "The least of these My brethren" are Christian believers, and perhaps specifically disciples and evangelists. While Jesus was still speaking to the people, behold, His mother and His brethren stood outside, asking to speak to Him. Someone told Him, "Your mother and Your brethren are standing outside, asking to speak with You." But Jesus replied to the man who told him, "Who is My mother, and who are My brethren?" And stretching out His hand toward His disciples, He said, "➡️Here are My mother and My brethren!⬅️ For whoever does The Will of My Father is My brethren." (Matthew 12:46-50) Jesus said, "This is The Will of My Father: That every one who sees the Son and believes on Him has eternal life; and I Myself will raise him up at the last day." (John 6:40) Jesus said, "➡️He who receives you receives Me⬅️, and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me. He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward; and he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward. And whoever gives to one of ➡️the least of these My brethren⬅️ even a cup of cold water because he is a disciple: Truly I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward." (Matthew 10:40-42) [25:31-46] The conclusion of the discourse, which is peculiar to Matthew, portrays the final judgment that will accompany the parousia. Although often called a “parable,” it is not really such, for the only parabolic elements are the depiction of the Son of Man as a shepherd and of the righteous and the wicked as sheep and goats, respectively (Mt 25:32-33). The criterion of judgment will be the deeds of mercy that have been done for the least of Jesus’ brothers (Mt 25:40). A difficult and important question is the identification of these least brothers. Are they all people who have suffered hunger, thirst, etc. (Mt 25:35, 36) or a particular group of such sufferers? Scholars are divided in their response and arguments can be made for either side. But leaving aside the problem of what the traditional material that Matthew edited may have meant, it seems that a stronger case can be made for the view that in the evangelist’s sense the sufferers are Christians, probably Christian missionaries whose sufferings were brought upon them by their preaching of the gospel. The criterion of judgment for all the nations is their treatment of those who have borne to the world the message of Jesus, and this means ultimately their acceptance or rejection of Jesus himself; cf. Mt 10:40, “Whoever receives you, receives me.” See note on Mt 16:27. * [25:32] All the nations: before the end the gospel will have been preached throughout the world (Mt 24:14); thus the Gentiles will be judged on their response to it. But the phrase all the nations includes the Jews also, for at the judgment “the Son of Man…will repay everyone according to his conduct” (Mt 16:27). * [25:37-40] The righteous will be astonished that in caring for the needs of the sufferers they were ministering to the Lord himself. One of these least brothers of mine: cf. Mt 10:42.

Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an HUNGRED, and ye gave me MEAT: I was THIRSTY, and ye gave me DRINK: I was a STRANGER, and ye took me IN: NAKED, and ye CLOTHED me: I was SICK, and ye VISITED me: I was in PRISON, and ye CAME unto me. Then shall the RIGHTEOUS answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me NO meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me NO drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me NOT in: naked, and ye clothed me NOT: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me NOT. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the RIGHTEOUS into life eternal.” Matthew 25:31-46 KJV The righteous are those who have the imputed righteousness of Jesus Christ by believing the gospel. “But to him that worketh NOT, but BELIEVETH on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for RIGHTEOUSNESS.” Romans 4:5 KJV Those who have believed the gospel, are declared righteous because of the righteousness of Jesus Christ are the only ones who can offer the good news of the gospel to others! 🐑 Anyone who has not believed the gospel and trying to be justified before Jesus by their works are the unrighteous. 🐐 “As it is written, There is NONE righteous, no, NOT one:” Romans 3:10 KJV “For my flesh is MEAT indeed, and my blood is DRINK indeed.” John 6:55 KJV “But whosoever DRINKETH of the water that I shall give him shall NEVER THIRST; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.” John 4:14 KJV “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to PREACH good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the CAPTIVES, and the opening of the PRISON to them that are bound;” Isaiah 61:1 KJV “ I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath CLOTHED me with the garments of SALVATION, he hath covered me with the ROBE of RIGHTEOUSNESS, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.” Isaiah 61:10 KJV “But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are SICK. But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” Matthew 9:12-13 KJV Jesus wants all to repent, change their minds and realize they are spiritual sick, they need a Savior. “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are HEALED.” Isaiah 53:5 KJV “ And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the MINISTRY of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, NOT imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto US the WORD of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye RECONCILED to God.” 2 Corinthians 5:18-20 KJV “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in PRISON; 1 Peter 3:18-19 KJV “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the PRISON to them that are bound;” Isaiah 61:1 KJV
