This is NOT a simple song.. the pervasive alliteration, the enthusiatic drumming; this is heartfelt and amazing.

Thanks to HIMYM this song always feels like everything's coming into place, like even the little things lead up to big stuff. It's fantastic.

I can't even begin to describe how this song makes me feel. It's such a glorious and hopeful ode to how the people we love get us through hard times, and how strong the ties are between people who stick it out together, and how any place can feel like home when the people you love are there. It's a beautiful love song, to a lover or a friend or anybody or everybody, and it seems like it cherishes the past, present, and the future equally. It makes me so happy.

I'm seriously struggling with how good this song is, musically, lyrically, and structurally.

I found this song before how I met your mother, but I really like that so many people are finding great music because of the show. They truly had some of the best music soundtracks, and one of the best themes in a show. I'm very glad for HIMYM bringing so many people here.

Can you imagine how many people would not know about this awesome song if it wasn't for HIMYM? All the Shins fan should be happy that a tv show brought to them good music as I have found a good tv show from listening to the shins

It’s 2024 and I’m hearing this song for the first time in at least a decade. Man that hit me in the feels. I need to get out there and make some friends. Life is too short and it’s easy to get caught up in the grind.

I work in retail. Between all the shitty pop songs they play in my store, there are some rare opportunities to hear some good music such as this that I may not have heard elsewhere.

I often listened to this song on the radio while taking my brother in law to his leukemia chemo treatments at the university of San Francisco. It seemed odd that this song looped on the radio in San Fran but not in the central California valley where were from.

Honestly though. The last minute of the himym episode that featured this along with the last 5 minutes of "Farhampton" are the most powerful moments in the show

Found The Shins on my RU-vid recommended list, practically by complete accident. "Simple Song" has topped the chart for my all time favorite song. Every time I listen to this one song, I get sent away to a better place and it's just beautiful.

Me and my brother used to watch how I met your mother on repeat for about 3 years before he moved out. I was in his car just now and this song just unlocked a happy memory for the both of us. Amazing, goosebumps.
