During the Tudor period, there were thousands of executions that took place across England. During Henry VIII's reign 70,000 people were killed inside of his Kingdom, including a number of high profile members of his government and his friends. But following the death of Henry VIII, his son Edward VI came onto the throne despite being just a young boy. A regency council was established to rule for the boy King until he became old enough, and this was overseen by Edward Seymour, the Lord Protector. But Edward had a very jealous brother who tried to bring him down.
Thomas Seymour was a villain, and he was a terrible person who tried to marry Princess Elizabeth despite a huge age gap, and also he had groomed her. Thomas Seymour plotted against his brother despite being the King being his nephew, and this all resulted in him attempting to kidnap Edward VI in the middle of the night. Thomas had also arranged to rebel against the King using the Navy, and he was arrested being imprisoned in the Tower of London. After this he was sentenced to death and was executed by axe on Tower Hill, but his execution did not go to plan.

Right!? Her dad caused her so much pain and trauma by literally killing her mom and then Thomas Seymour sexually assaulted her...and it seems like nobody was there to protect her. She was right and smart for 'marrying' England instead of a king.

The Hans Holbein the Younger portrait you use twice, first at 1.43 and then at 7.27 is Not Thomas Seymour, but Sir Ralph Sadler, erstwhile ward and right hand of Thomas Cromwell and later Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster.

And your family would be shamed, all their properties taken by the crown and forced to abject poverty or worse....on the other hand if you quitely go and ask for God and King forgiveness your loved ones probably would be left alone, so, that is one strong reason for such behavior.

Watched the Tudors, and I realize that it is Hollywood, but the way he was portrayed I couldn't stand him. He, his wife, and his brother. It is amazing how what actually happened, is so different in Hollywood. Ratings? What is so difficult about showing what actually happened? Often wondered if modern technology we have now were available back then, and say they do an historical account of King Henry that was incorrect and if Elizabeth was queen, would she order a severe punishment? :) thank you for giving a truthful account

Unfortunately incompetant ax men werent the only problem. More often than not the executioners axe/blade were dull to begin with. So even if said executioner was skilled it still wouldve taken at least more than one chop at the neck to completely severe it.

@ClickClack_Bam

You have a strange inflection when you speak. EVERY sentence has the same one & it shouldn't. It's as if you're asking a question but you aren't. There are other channels who do this & they catch hell for it. My thing is if you talk like this then you get cut a little slack that you read this way... But you WEREN'T taught to read this way so you don't get any slack & you WEREN'T taught to talk that way, so I lied when I said you get some slack. Bro you have an interesting English voice & accent. I can't subscribe to this channel with this inflection. I want to. The subject is great & your accent is great. My girlfriend starts to mock this inflection type when we talk to one another. She starts to do the end of the sentence rise in inflection. Then I start doing it... Then all we both end up hearing is the musical inflection & not the words you're saying. Bro you've got a good voice & accent that people seem to like. Stop the inflection.

@@meg4458 His inflection when he speaks, just so you know, is seen as a serious detriment to his intelligence because it's seen as being "incredibly dumb to be doing" because he lifts his inflection at the end of his sentences as if he's asking a question for EVERY sentence that he speaks... I don't give a flying FUCK that you think I'm not fun at parties... I don't give a flying FUCK that you think I'm not a LOT of fun... I'm speaking to this man AS A MAN to him about WHAT OTHER MEN SEE HIM AS... I'm telling him to BETTER himself so he's seen to be a BETTER PERSON of intelligence so he's honored in the presence of other MEN so he can be seen as the INTELLIGENT PERSON THAT HE IS! IF YOU CAN'T SEE THAT THIS IS WHAT I'M DOING... THEN.... FUCK... YOU... for your lack of insight into what this post really is! It's YOU who CAN'T see what I'm doing here. It's YOU who ISN'T appreciating the intelligence that I'm giving to this man.
