I too have a 2023 GT trim. I do most of my driving in EV mode and at times get over 90km of range. I totally agree with you about the gas mileage once the engine engages. I will travel at times from Mississauga to Barrie or Ottawa. i will put the car into either Save or Charge mode when doing the highway portion of those trips. Gas mileage is really the pits. i will burn through almost a full tank of gas on my trips to Ottawa and for some reason a quarter to half a tank on the Barrie trips. I wish the car had more storage options and not so much piano black. It's quiet, very quiet. I find it peppy enough for my driving. The front seats are extremely comfortable. I am generally happy with it, but not overjoyed. I traded in a 2019 Mercedes Benz B Class which I absolutely loved and I do miss the Mercedes service and dealership experiences I had.

Good review. It's hard to find faults so it is good to hear some. I love my 2023 model. Always use the ice over 90kmph and save the battery for town and you'll get the best results (unless you know you are only doing small trips that day, then don't worry :)

Good review! I'm a fan, I've subscribed. Now here's my first year with my 23 PHEV I've done 12k km and have achieved 4.8 liter/100km year round average, no reset...! During the week I drive under 70 km/day, so no gas for me during the week. I like it, but I have 18" summer pirelli on it. It's more comfortable and efficient than the 20's. Suspension is good everywhere but not for engaged driving, it certainly needs more sway bar in the rear and better shocks. Steering precision is good for an suv. It is better in tarmac mode, it stiffens the steering and wake up the go pedal, but the steering still feels electric. Return to center is numb to say the least. I have the LE, I really like the suede/leatherette seats and enjoy the 360 cam, power lift gate, the insulation from any noises, programmable heating for winter, panoramic sunroof that enlighten the cabin. Controls are instinctive, alot better than my 3rd gen tacoma or my gla250 4matic. If you can plugged in everyday I'd say go for it.

I've been driving mine since July last year and I am very much in love with it. Definitively best bang for your buck if you need a PHEV 3 row seater. My average is 1.3L/100 Kms. So far the negatives you have pointed out I've experienced them all but they're not a deal breaker.

If this is your daily driver and you primarily use the EV for commuting to work or school within its range, with occasional long trips, I believe this is a good value vehicle compared to its competitors (RAV 4 Prime etc). I own a GT Premium model 2023 ( with 10k rebate which I think is a great deal), and I have no complaints so far. I've honestly enjoyed not having to visit the gas station often. It has enough power to get off the line at traffic lights thanks to its instant torque, although it’s not a sporty car. It's a decent family hauler that meets all my needs. I don’t use the third row and actually dislike it; I wish the space could have been left empty to make the vehicle lighter or used for a spare tire. Overall, I like it and gave up my Accord for this vehicle due to its practicality for family use. Thanks for sharing the pros and cons of the vehicle. I believe there are no vehicles without flaws; there will always be something that could be improved.

You take you're kids to school 35km away? That would have to be the case to compleletly deplete the battery and require 6hrs to charge. My kids go to school 2km away, a more realistic 4km round trip leaving plenty of daily driving then overnight charging. You can still drive the car on fuel though and if you don't like that then a PHEV is not the car for you. This car works best for pure EV city driving with the option of long range driving on engine to avoid range anxiety.

The brake pedal thing is it only doing that when it's fully charged to keep the pedal feel consistent or all the time?

This guy seems to be a paid actor either from Toyota or some other brand. I have two of these cars for the last three years and it's a wonderful machine.

Imagine going up on a hill with lack of dense air and from 250 or something horsepower dropping under 100 😂😂
@MotorPressReviews

Up to 131 hp drop, the rest is EV that doesn’t care about air density :)
