The Wolfpac was awesome at the time. I was 16 in 1998. Remember back in 97 before they were official Hall/Nash/Syxx always wore red & black ring gear after taking off their nWo shirts. Can’t believe Hall wasn’t part of the original Wolfpac. Then they did get it right they way they brought him in, but then they stuffed it up again by bringing in Hogan. A damn shame it petered out like that. Was the most entertaining thing on television for a couple years.
The Wolfpac would have worked had Hogan never joined. Made zero sense to merge the nwo factions. Hogan talking gangster and wearing JNCOS was too much for me and many others, it turned the Wolfpac into a joke.
Agreed I was so disappointed in the finger poke of doom and it truly hurt the credibility and cool factor of the Wolfpack And kind of turned me off from WCW which I loved so much open to that point
@@christianpatriot7196Right that doesn’t even make sense .. Nash is the world champion so let’s lose our title to Hogan and then celebrate .. just doesn’t make sense to me in the same faction or not we have the belt in our faction why would I just let you beat me for it .. seems foolish to me.
If Kevin Nash had come out there and said the NWO was only successful because of him and that he was just as good at wrestler as Hogan . And then really committed long-term to a NWO so civil war they wouldn’t even have needed any of the titles because I’d be so worried about trying to defeat each other. And if you wanted to add a wildcard in there, whoever was left for WCW could’ve been lead by Bret Harte with Goldberg being a muscle and you would’ve had three factions vying for the top spot. .
Only 10 likes? This video was gold! Thank you for this. Wolfpac was a big part of my childhood, it sucks that it ended the way it did, should've had a feud between Hollywood vs Wolfpac ending the nWo.
The nWo should've never been unified after they split in 2 factions.. The fingerpoke of doom killed the NWO and ultimately killed WCW when people tuned out to watch the WWF
I believe the real reason why hogan beat savage the next night for the title was savage injured his knee in the match with sting which required surgery that put him out a long time
WCW had everything they needed to become and stay as the number 1 company. But lack of leadership and complete shit booking killed it. The bookers for WCW were the absolute worst in the history of wrestling
3:47 24hrs later its discovered that Macho has a leg injury, hence why he keeps holding his leg and no one calls it or explained why he can't defend the title he JUST won.
The first time I saw both side come out together in a half white/half red nWo shirts was the last WCW show I ever watched live. Its a shame because I loved the nWo but it became a spoof of its original self.
The reason hogan won on the next nitro after spring stampede because before the event wwf beat wcw 83 weeks in a row thanks to steve austin. So that why
Just let Savage run wild with the belt for like 6 months... He'd have great matches defending against DDP, Hogan, The Giant, Hall,Luger, Hart... Cage matches, table match,4 way, Lumberjack, it woulda been great.
In hindsight, having Nash bring the title back to the nWo by helping Savage win, only for Hogan to get it back the next night, helps Konnan’s promo that they were never actually at odds with each other.
I don't understand why didnt DDP join the Wolpac. Nitro even had a promo/segment of DDP about to join the Wolfpac, but Hogan and Rodman attacking him with chairs from behind stopped him from joining. DDP joining the Wolfac would have made the faction alot better. I don't know who were the writers at that time, but that was very poorly written
From a DDP point of view, it was still nWo. They were still villains. He probably didn't trust them.,They shock up WCW, injured people, stole titles, harassed his wife. And low & behold they didn't change. They were just pretending. The only one who actually changed was Konnan. To many, Sting joining didn't make sense. It would be like a sequel to The Crowe where the main character joins the gang that killed him. In a,way that means Sting lost to Hogan & nWo. Maybe not physically, but psychologically. Anyway, DDP was best as a solo wrestler, not a,team. It would be like why didn't Stone Cold join DX. Don't they both hate authority in WWF?
Sting and Savage should never joined. Even the Wolfpack. Sting should stayed WCW. But after the mistake with Savage he did create interest when him and Hogan argued. Savage losing the belt the very next day was another mistake. The finger poke of doom wasn't the end. It actually sparked interest ( check the ratings not the historical views) injuries ruined that followed by WCW booking imploding
Only nwo Wolfpack I acknowledge is the one that had Kevin Nash, konnan, Sting and lex luger. Macho man really didn't get to do anything with them. That 1999 version was a joke and the death of the Wolfpack
Sting shouldn’t have joined the Wolfpack either because Nash had just screwed him out of the title and in a way gave it back to Hogan….he done this a couple of times. “Giving” the title to Hogan I mean.
NWO Wolfpac was cringe. The NWO was the ultimate heel faction but the NWO Wolfpac was a silly face faction with that clown Konan jumping around throwing up gang signs...........cringe.
I liked the Pac at first, but it grew old real quick. 2 quarreling sides of the faction didn’t work out. The Black&White was the best. Biscoff never should have joined. The faction should have been Hall, Nash, Hogan, Trillion Aire Ted, and Vincent. You let Giant join for a month, then there’s a falling out and he goes back to WcW. You do the same thing with Savage, Buff, Luger, Disco Inferno, and so on. Wcw never would have lost out to WWF.
Hulk hogan was always a bad champion...it was more for his "image"... because of that I liked the nwo and sting but just disliked hogan...don't know what ppl saw in him...he was literally so boring to watch..I'm 33
Turning new blood of NWO (i mean Wolfpack) into boring heel factory was the end of WCW for me personally. Wolfpack was so hot that crowd popped huge every freaking time. Wolfpack was a good guys who were not regular stupid and naive WCW faces, an it added more legitimacy to the whole wrestling business. Sadly it went way too soon. As to "old guys acting gansta"... You know the Click and the freind was in a way on gansta sh. But in their own way.
I don’t care what anyone says. Finger Poke was awesome, now everything immediately following was shit. But in live time was awesome. First they were already getting carried away with swerves, but this you didn’t see coming. Second you got the original 3 of hogan, hall & Nash back together
A 24 hour title is nonsense of course that was nonsense. It would have made more sense to have a Savage vs. Hogan feud splits the NWO fully and then Nash takes over the red from Savage.
Fact it WCW was pathetic ro have Savage drop the title to Hogan the next night. Raven won the US title anf dropped it to Goldberg the next night. Really disgusting when WCW did the same thing to Savage the next year. That company just kept doing the same stuff. I hate how it tuned out. WCW,was more interesting to me, but they didn't know how to end stuff or to evolve. 1998 was profitable because they pushed DDP & Goldberg. WWF knew when to hold & fold on stuff. They rode each star but prepared another to take over.
@@lamethderdunklemessias2509 In itself the poke was just a heel move, which made no sense but that's a different topic. What was really wrong about the time was WCW moving backwards to push Hogan & Flair instead of developing new stars.
Dude, do you know anything about behind the scenes of wrestling ? I may be wrong, and the host doesn’t know why the titles are changed but but just like comments from the readers. The reason for specific storyline and why it has to happen and why an organization has a wrestler win and then immediately is the title. All examples are based on the organization, wanting to keep the belt with either a baby face or heel. Example #1: the current champion is a baby face, the organization wants to pass the belt to a different baby face without having a baby face versus baby face match, which rarely works. They temporarily temporarily pass the belt to a heel. The heel then almost immediately drops the belt to the baby face that is being pushed, by the organization. Example #2: a title holder may be at the end of a contract or ready for retirement. Example #3: A title holder has a dispute with the organization which can’t be solved, leaving the only option to remove him from the organization, therefore, losing the title. Example #4: the belt holder has an injury in which he is not able to perform. They will have him or her drop the title and giving time to recover.
@@Alexandre-oc2ch First of all, throughout the entire video what is said mostly does not match the images in the video. Wrong pictures of wrestlers, wrong pictures of events. Incorrect images with wrong date/time zones. The pictures are all there, but he mixed them without any reason. Later he is showing only pictures from the WWF-time. That has nothing to do with the time in WCW 1998-1999. Thats so annoying. Furthermore, he just says shit: How can you not think the ending of the Nash vs. Hall fight was great? "Nash looked like an idiot." His dumb opinion proves that he is an idiot. To claim that the Fingerpoke of Doom started the fall of WCW is nonsense that every idiot without any knowledge says. This Swerve is awesome and the reunion is the right consequence. The problem was simply that tons of wrestlers got injured. They couldn't continue alot storylines, so they had to make drastic changes, which meant the story took strange turns. They couldn't continue the Goldberg vs. nWo feud which was their grand plan. Eric Bischoff had to incorporate family-friendly storylines at the direction of new Time Warner chairman, even though WCW was becoming known for adult gangster wrestling. Bro this stupid video is "one of the worst things happened" on youtube. What is the idiot saying about these people look cringe today? And as if a Syxx-Pac would have made such a big difference in the red/black Wolfpac... All in all this guy is talking alot nonsense stuff because he has not any knowledge. Holy shit is this guy annoying.
Of course it's fake, it's wrestling. Kevin Nash, Scott Hall (RIP) and DDP are actually good friends in real life, before and after NWO storyline. But Macho Man (RIP) despised Hogan in real life.
@@CurlyFromTheSwirly Nash wasnt even booking matches at the time and if he was WOW smart beat Goldberg lose title very next day....Just a typical mad Goldberg fan
@@playerratedr401 It would help if you knew the facts, karen. By that point, Nash was booking. He didn't lose the next day, he lost the next week. I'm not a Goldberg fan or hater. DDP should have beaten Goldberg at Halloween Havoc.
