Honestly the more I learn about 40k the more I see it as a tragedy. There are so many times where the smallest changes could have led to a far better future.

I like to think the Silent King attempted to warn Sanguinius of Chaos and wanted to preemptively strike against the traitor Primarchs with the Blood Angels, but Sanguinius refused as he believed in and loved his brothers, as that would be hilariously tragic.

It is kind of weird to think that various Xenos factions would try to help the imperium so that it could serve as a stabilizing force within the galaxy. It’s a very realistic and shrewd level of politiking that you usually don’t see in 40k

I do like the idea of an alternate timeline with Sanguinius leading the Imperium.

Silent king may also have the ability used by Trazyn to nominate body doubles to hold his presence and speak through him. So he may not have been physically present before m41. Necrons tend to to do wacky shit on occasion. We all know its just poor fact keeping in the end but its always fun to try to explain things away with space magic, science do hickickeys, time travel, and smoke and mirrors.

The way the Silent King honored Sanguinius, and the way the Blood Angels and the Necrons, stood together against the Tyranids was an amazing and beautiful thing. The Imperium and the Eldar have stood together as well, and the new Eldar faction even gave back one of His sons. Perhaps some of the Xenos can stand beside the Imperium, and together the Tyranids and Chaos can be stopped for good... And perhaps with Yvraine's power over death and Szarekh's technology, Sanguinius can be brought back. As well as the other dead or destroyed loyal Primarchs. Maybe even The Emperor himself can be healed, restored, and raised from His throne to lead again.

Blood Angels and Necrons = Best of Buds

What if this Golden faced Silent king. is the one in prophecy that Sangunius had? as the forces of chaos are at their greatest. the Necrons come to the front, as their greatest threat?

The Silent King could be Trazyn the Infinite in disguise. Sanguinius could just have been another fine addition to his collection....

I for once would like to see that happening. For once, because I really love Necrons, and second, because I'd think Necron and Imperium could be better Battle Buddies than Imperium and Eldar.

While not stated directly, I think, from the effect these words had on Dante, they strongly imply that those were words he heard his primarch utter at one point; the undeniable proof, proof far greater than a mask that could be faked, that the Necron King and Sanguinius really did meet and speak to each other. The real question is: Why would the Angel keep this meeting a secret to all?

Imagine the pure Terror it must have been to encounter the Great devourer out in the cold void. The most terrifying aspect of the Tyranid invasion is that it is probably just the vanguard, the universe is dead and its killers enclose on the last bastion of life in all of creation. The silent king has lived so long and seen so much, so it shows just how much of a threat the Tyranids are when they can bring fear to the Slayer of gods.

I know 40k is grimdark and there's never a happy moment, but I always hold out hope for batter days. The day when the emperor returns. A day when humans and good eldar have a strong alliance of brotherhood. And even an alliance with the good necrons like the silent king or Trazyn. Yes Trazyn might have his own agendas but him helping at Cadia makes me hopeful.

I think a full on temporary alliance between the Imperium, Eldar and Tau to defeat chaos would make a amazing story. Or a alliance between the imperium, tau, eldar and necrons to face the common threat of the tyranids would make sense and be really cool

I like this, I find this interesting. Then again, considering how little we know of Szarekh in the present day, almost anything I find of the Silent King seems interesting. And by extension I find the Necrons fascinating in general.

My understanding is that there are parts of the Imperium which seem to have quite a bit of contact, dare a say trade, with the Necrons. Like the inquisition, the grey knights, and some assassin temples.

1. I don't know if the Necron ability to see into the future extends beyond the galaxy, after all you need a time and place in spacetime. Also you need the right time and place. In other words, one would need to know what to look for regardless. This is why "a prophetic revelation" beats looking into the future, because it brings you the relevant information that you were not even aware of, right away. 2. Does this Necron vision of the future penetrate the Tyranid shroud (Shadow in the warp)?

I was hoping it would be a necron force sent by the silent king to aid the imperium against hive fleet Leviathan instead of a demon prince and his legions. That would have made a wtf moment (the demons didn't even turn on the imperial forces after wiping out the tyranids and just left them reinforce a planet the wrong side of the dark imperium???) into a nicely wrapped storyline between the Silent King and Dante spanning a couple books and half a century, with possibilities for more plot further down the time line.

@40KTheories ... why did not The Emperor of Mankind know of and therefore have preparations for the Tyranid threat? He, was knowledgeable of many things happening in the Galaxy. I cannot imagine The Emperor would not know of the threat in the Void, centuries if not millennia before it arrived.

It’s kind of a paradox. How can the Silwnt King propose anything or stick to his word if he never talks and never seems to give his word to begin with, it’s always someone else saying so.

Hmm, I can think of a fanw@nky way of making the Blood Angels x Necrons Alliance still be Tyranid focused and still be something from the time of Sanguinius. Malal. Some of the older stuff suggests there was an idea being worked on where Malal being the Anti-Chaos Chaos God got him banished to the other side of the Universe and he was the "God" of the Tyranids. So what if Malal was empowered by the Great Crusade? Emps crushing Faiths fuelling Malal's Anti-Chaos Chaos Powers and he was moving against the other Ruinous Powers. Silent King and Sanguinius run into Malal's Mortal Followers and ally to crush them. Malal gets beaten on both sides and is banished from the Eye of Terror to the other side of the Universe, condemning him to a slow death. But he survives by infusing a local insecto-xenomorph looking biomass and becomes the Hivemind. He still has one or two cultists over here and act as beacons for his Hive Fleets as he makes his way back for revenge. Silent King thought it was all over way back when, maybe Sanguinius disagreed and insisted on making an agreement to ally in the face of this foe in the future. Horus Heresy later and most have forgotten but when Silent King meets the Tyranids he recognises them as servants of Malal and runs back to call up his favourite Space Vampires.

At 7:16 I disagree with your interpretation of the text, which I feel renders your 2nd problem moot. I read the text to mean not that he was blind to ending the threat of the great devourer, but that he was blind to the possibility that the great devourer could be attracted directly to the Milky Way galaxy. Szarekh probably intended to fight the Devourer on terms of his choosing, preferably in the void between galaxies where the Tyranids would be weakest, due to the lack of biomass.
