So to answer the question on everyone's mind... Yes, we did check if there are more restaurant quality salmon filets in Lake Superior but it seems that we are the only one to have ever caught one 😉 what did you think of the video? Let us know if you'd like to see more videos like this one! 🥰🥰
I hope you have bear spray, if not get it and watch a quick video how to use it. When you reach Alberta and West Black Bears are far more common and it's Grizzly Country. Grizzly (Brown) Bears are not as timid as Black bears and with noise will give you room but they are far more aggressive and territorial, and Mama's will protect Cubs at all costs back out the way you came slowly never get closer or try and find a path around. I added some more Info below. Enjoy Canada but do it responsibly.
I grew up in Sault Ste. Marie and we used to camp at Pancake Bay on weekends. This brought me back to my chldhood. Thank you for featuring it in this video!
Wow you guys have so far nailed the Canadian experience. Thank you for allowing me to witness Canada through the eyes of a foreigner. I tend to take for granted how beautiful our country is.🍁❤️
What a great video. I used to live on the north shore of Lake Superior as a child, so this brought back good memories of the scenery. Thanks for sharing.
Oh wow yeah, that is a big difference 😮 I would go all out on the hot cocoa in that kind of weather ;) happy we could bring some sunshine to your living room!
Love everything you guys are doing. Thanks for sharing your experience with the world. I can sense the love you have with each other and the appreciation to the world through this video. You guys are an inspiration to me with such positive energies and enthusiasm. Can’t wait to see more of your adventures in Canada.
Great video Lake Superior is my favorite. So beautiful and ever changing scenery. You really need to schedule a day with a fishing guide on an island lake. Catch some walleye fish and have a true shore lunch of fresh walleye . Enjoy.
Lovin' all of these Canadian van life videos, thanks for taking us to all of your adventures. You guys should install a dash cam or something like that to record any surprise encounters of wildlife during your roadtrips. All the best wishes to both of you from Taiwan.
Belated happy birthday Kim! Thank you both for another great video. I admire Naick's patience with fishing.I hope you get to experience a thunderstorm in the prairies. The terrain is so flat that you see weather coming on the horizon well before it hits you. And enjoy the long and beautiful prairie sunsets!
This video reminded me of the wonderful content from when you first set out in December 2020 & that whole chapter of travel. It's a pleasure to see the two of you experience Canada's beauty for the first time. Kim you made me LOL several times in this video. You also said "this is why we do this." Well, this video is an example of why I watch. Terrific all around.
Happy belated Birthday! 🎉 That's quite the catch. Looked delicious! 😂🐟 Also, I think I can speak for all Canadians when I say that Canadian Tire has such a specific smell, and as soon as you went in, I could picture it. CHILDHOOD MEMORIES.
Happy Birthday Kim! You guys are so happy in Canada, I really wish you could take your time to experience more there.....you're genuinely happy there. Safe travels!
Fijn weekend, groetjes, Gilberte
@@NaickKim I didnt want to leave. That spot where you guys showed the stairs going up my GF got attacked by a partridge it was halarious it was chasing her she was screaming. We stayed at a near by campground for just over a week drove from Peterborough ON. Which was around 18 hours so beautiful just the drive along Superior is unreal.
Love that you guys are enjoying our great outdoors and fishing. My two favorite things to enjoy in our amazing country. Keep it up with the fishing. You will catch a fish one day.😉 Safe travels.
Happy belated Birthday Kim! You have now seen the part of Canada known as the Canadian Shield that's why so much rock. I am so enjoying watching your adventures. Awesome fishing Naick keep it up you will catch something soon and good news you can fish in every one of the provinces, lol! Continued safe travels and looking forward to your next vlog!!!
Happy belated birthday 🎂 to the both of you:) Lol, learning to fish. Lovely campsite. Beautiful drone shots and sunset too. That new lens is paying off. You really packed this episode with fun and adventures. Sending Best Wishes and Blessings, James and Kim
if you are going to be fishing, check out some recipes for "cedar planked salmon" - a traditional native way of cooking salmon thats very tasty and popular - it also stops your fish from falling through a grill. - you can pick up pieces of cedar from anywhere that sells lumber - Canadian Tire and please probably sell it pre-cut, but its cheaper from a lumber yard - there are many different recipes - its easy to improvise your own - you can cook other fish too, but I'm on the west coast, so salmon is king!
Such beauty and awe inspiring vistas... guess the mosquitos are there to remind you that everything has a price! LOL! Nice dancing Naick! You got the moves! My Grandfather used to say that fishing isn't about catching anything... just winding down and taking time to appreciate life. Happy belated Birthday, Kim! 🐻🎂🐟🥳🎉
Happy birthday Kim , absolutely loving this adventure, and loving your sense of humour, please be careful regarding bears, do you have bear spray..?..🐻
Addicted to Timmy's already LOL!! I'm so glad you got to see your first bear, trust me you will see many!!! Happy B-day Kim so glad you got to see a moose too🎂 It was my husband Terrys b-day too, which was the reasoning for our trip to Edmonton. I hope you two bought bear spray!!. Nice salmon catch. You tried the Timbits, their addicting too! Impressive hike and amazing views thanks for sharing those! see you in the next video🐻🐿
Are the mosquitoes biting? Kim has a face net also? With all the mosquitoes, I also would be paranoid ... I experienced the black flies attacking! I used the Off repellent but I would rename to On with all the attacks. The Canadians recommended a lotion from Walmart - Great Outdoors by Watkins. How is the gas budget? Seems like can fill up daily ... the same cost of a hotel. Still have over 6000km, which is at least 10 more fill ups at 600km of driving. What you think?
13:42 Soo funny! Welcome to Canada. Wish you could have made it to Lake Erie. Anyway happy travels and thank you for the destination spots. We are heading that way in our Sprinter real soon!
I can't wait for you guys to make it to the west coast and have your minds blown by the camping spots out here! Also, bears have def been known to rip doors off of vehicles so your fear is legit. One ripped a hole in our shed in order to get prawn shells we had in our garbage on autumn. They are not to be hecked with that's for sure!
Mosquitoes will out live us all! I’ve donated more blood than I care to. 😼. Western part of Canada and the Lower US are drier territories with less or even no mosquitoes. The best is yet to come. Love your adventures!
All the bears are relatively small at this time of year, over the next months they will all be bulking up ready for hibernation, they can put on hundreds of pounds. Over shorter distances, a bear can out run a racehorse. They are generally very tolerant or avoid people altogether. I’ve only ever encountered two cranky bears and they will let you know
Black Bears are not normally a threat unless you get between mother and Cubs.. They are however destructive!! Don’t leave food out on tables or van doors open and food out.. They are very adapted to having people around.. You folks have a great adventure and I’ll be watching every mile!!! Love from Maine!!!
Happy birthday Kim. Started to drink Tim Horton’s for my morning coffee too! Dark- medium roast Colombian is good. Lucky you get to do what you’re doing!
Happy Birthday! All the best 🎂. Amazing video. Our country is so big and you were right in your comment , we should get out a drive. The views from Lake Superior were amazing. Need to get a camper van and a co-pilot. One day. Safe travels! Onto Manitoba.
Glad that you are enjoying the journey. The diversity in Canada is vast, with the environment, the wildlife and the culture. I imagine that by the time you read this that you are most of the way through Manitoba, or even in Saskatchewan. To get ahead of the trip, I will tell you a couple of remote sites in British Columbia. In Northern B.C. there is Chetwynd, it is worth passing through for all of the chainsaw carvings around town. The other recommendation is Barkerville. It is a glimpse into the gold rush and it is touristy, but has a good amount of historical information.
If you think the mosquitos are bad there, wait until you get to Alaska. Did you make friends with any of the other campers? Pancake Bay looks beautiful!
@@NaickKim pretty cool 1967 to 78'. We were very active...downhill skiing and ice skating in winter, going to camp (cottage) in the summer. We also would drive out to the sleeping giant, spend some time fishing and swimming. I've also been to pancake bay....its beautiful....💕
So happy to see you both enjoying Canada! 🍁🍁Loving the videos! Quick tip - lick the tip of your finger and hold it up to the smoke coming from the fire pit. The moisture should change it's direction away from your face :)
How beautiful!!! What fun. You had me grinning from ear to ear from start to finish. Don't know if you have that type of butterfly in Europe. They are called Tiger Swallowtails here and are pretty common. What a wonderful few days--and Happy Birthday to you, dear Kim!
HOLY S*** live bait is a big call for a newby!! Sorry I should watch the whole video and then comment.. but LOL !! you now have the rod, you must fish the whole way to Alaska. If it helps I fish ALOT but only catch the suicidal fishy's. You will find a hungry fish eventually. Love the video as usual :)
