I like how marge is trying to defuse the situation while Homer walks in and does the opposite 😂

I love how Marge changes heights 10 times when flicking the lights on and off

What I love about these early Simpsons seasons is that the scenes depicted are actually realistic and you can actually picture children arguing and fighting like that, along with Marge flicking the lights in order to get their attention. And Homer doing the same thing with the pie and hitting his head on the extractor hood is just comedy gold!

It cracks me up how Bart's arms go around and around. 😂

Homer was an absolute MADMAN in this one.

I love how the scene with Homer manages to be funny yet also contextualise where Bart and Lisa got it from. It's such incredible writing that makes for hilarious and engaging television. 💛

Homer's reaction to just Bart and Lisa screaming upstairs is priceless.

It cracks me up each time I hear both Bart and Lisa screaming from another room.

This is one of my favourite episodes! Perfectly paced, every joke is well written/delivered and the episode ends in a heartfelt way whilst simultaneously developing Bart and Lisa’s characters. 😊

1:27 first time seeing Lisa gets choked

The joke layering is badass.

The cutaway to downstairs at the last second followed by the audio of them fighting is one of the best-directed gags in the entire series. This is one of those scenes that also makes me tear up now, because it's so incredibly accurate to childhood.

Everything about this scene is so on the nose. It's unbelievable how accurate to my childhood this is. The deliberately trying to hurt your sibling. Then marge reaction is my favourite bit as my mum was the same and didn't know how to stop us fighting. While homers trying to fire the kids up to fight is hilarious. My dad wanted me and my younger brother to do boxing. So one day we would have a proper boxing match against one another. And said he would want it to be just like in the film the Krays. And the winner will be declared king. And the other one would be outcasted lol.

You can tell how angry Marge is at Homer.

This entire episode is absolute fire. Pretty much every scene is a winner. Golden age Simpsons was on another level that shows today can't even dream of.
