I know its just a throwaway joke, but that IS the Simpsons address. It bugs me. Unless the writers hadnt settled on giving them a permanent number at that time (I cant remember exactly which but I know theyve had different addresses for the same house over the years)

It's kind of hilariously dishonest for people who get upset at any criticism of police trying to spin it as if acab types are the ones that would cancel a show criticizing police. But maybe you know that as a lot of reactionary politics requires being purposefully obtuse and ignorant of past facts.
Why? I'm from the past, 1950s. Does 2020 have flying cars? Do people wave the flag proudly for all America has accomplished and honor our traditions? Did we defeat the Communists and their totalitarian equality of outcome thinking? Is the US still 90% white, mostly of English origin? I imagine our democracy and education advanced even more, where everyone makes brilliant orations and engages in beautiful speeches, even better fulfilling the dreams of our founding fathers? Oh to be alive in 2020
I love the perspective shift when it shows a cop doing their job chasing down a suspect, but then it just zooms back slightly and it’s the Springfield P.D eating popcorn and watching it happen on TV. 😂
In episode S4E11, when the Springfield police enter the wrong house, Chief Wiggum asks the owner "Isn't this 742 Evergreen Terrace?" to which Reverend Lovejoy replies "no, that's next door!" and motions to a house that clearly belongs to Snake...yet in numerous episodes '742 Evergreen Terrace' is referred to as the address of the Simpson home. I mean, what are we to believe, that this is some sort of a, a magic address, or something? Boy, I really hope somebody got fired for that blunder.
