My theory is that the Hoppcrafts from Moonlight Falls (specifically Miriam) furthered their anti-supernatural views via politics and presumably got magic outlawed. This leaves me worried about the fate of their changeling son.

The Cursed doll was actually just a mistake, it was made by a well known and beloved CC creator who accidentally selected the testing file to upload instead of the correct finished file. She later on went to upload the corrected version after giving apologies over the unintended virus, but later on due to backlash has gone mostly dormant in the community and took down the doll if I remember correctly.

The story is far more messed up than "only" that tho This sim's looks allign with a book description of her.

THIS. It's completely understandable to not like the book or be uncomfortable with it, but I can't stand when people say it romanticizes or glorifies grooming because they didn't actually understand what it was trying to say. And I see that more and more these days.

After researching this some more, I found out that knowledge sims actually don't have a positive "$Subject got abducted by aliens" but a positive "$Subject met aliens". That's a big difference. "$Subject got abducted by aliens" is ALWAYS negative in normal gameplay, and knowledge sims never get it. "$Subject met aliens" is always positive and basically the knowledge sim variant of that memory. So not only did they give Mortimer the wrong memory for his aspiration, they also changed that wrong memory (that's normally always negative, mind you) into a positive one. It was _probably_ a mistake, but if it was deliberate there's something foul.

I mean tbh if someone if one of my family members was abducted i would both be very sad and worried but also INCREDIBLY fasinated. Like... when you think about it, who could blame me?

I have a dark head cannon that a supernatural terriost caused a mass tragedy using magic in between the sims 3 and the sims 2 causing mass hatred and discrimination between supernaturals and a divide between non super naturals and eventually a populist with an anti supernaturals agenda got into power and committeda mass genocide of supernatruals by the time we get to the sims 2 games witches and vampires were some of the only super naturals to survive due to the fact that they can blend in with humans and don't really have any outward signs of their race (faires and werewolves were almost driven to extinction though) they probably also had their papers forged to state they were humans as well but they were still out there and by the time of the sims 2 a more accepting government was in place and super naturals were even given some forms of reparations (such as scholarships for university) By the time we get to the sims 1 the anti supernatural government is back in power and supernaturals have been completely forced into hiding and are banned from even showing their faces in public and punished for performing magic in public. That might be too close to home to be cannon though.

I was about to comment about the Haunted Doll so thank you for the correction. It was apparently also freaky because apparently deleting the .package file wouldn't always guarantee its gone from your computer as it got attached to other CC you had.

@@ItsJustArin In Sims 2 and Sims 3, there were just Stuff packs and Expansion packs, and the amount of content in them were straightforward and understandable. Stuff packs just gave you new items and clothes to style your home and the simmers, while expansion packs introduced new worlds, gameplay, animations, music and also the usual clothes and items. Sims 4? What even IS Sims 4? What defines as a game pack? What's their definition of a stuff pack? And kits? Its all so confusing, even Kits has new gameplay features and animations (The vacuum one) and i just cant get my head around it anymore :(

There is a theory out there that speculates that this is why Sims 4 is on an alternate timeline. Due to the publishing of "Murder in Pleasantview," the Sims of Sunset Valley were apprehensive to found Pleasantview, and so went on to found Oasis Springs and Willow Creek instead, leading to Sims 4 being a parallel timeline of Sims 1. Adds some depth to what is otherwise just lazy storytelling on EAxis' part.

Having played Sims 2 when I was about 8, now 21... I was not surprised to say the least, hahaha. That game was chaotic. Sims 4 is a lot smoother for my age now.

Since the code didn't actually include anything malicous thers's a very high chance it was just an export bug which caused the files to be flooded woth junk data and corruption to that junkdata and maybe actual data of the CC too. That corruption could've happened to anyone and any random cc, since as said it was a random export bug. Very sad to see the amount of hate the creator got for smth she wasn't even in charge for :/

I was once done an investigation about this specific bad cc bug (because there another bug related to bad cc like blue lots or badly categorized clothes that created, well... very creepy babies) aka the virus-like bad CC. I want to keep it short and simple (but it's hard for me). A common trait of this type of bad CCs (there was also known virus-like wall corner TV and left counter), were their creation in the early days of TS3 modding (2009), and also being made in the same modding tool (more later). The game was fresh, so modders were learning how to mod the game, and many modding tools in the early days was far away from perfect in their early version. One of the most popular CC creating tools: TSR Workshop, (one of the earliest versions of it) had a critical sneaky bug (later quickly fixed). So there was a small random chance that when you were exporting your project to sims3pack, it would also add garbage data to it. But still, somewhat TS3 could read them and install them even if they are a little bit corrupted. And weird behaviour like odd file sizes, crashes, freezes is related to how the TS3 engine trying to work with corrupted data. Also how TS3 sims3pack format files work it's related to this bug. Mostly because this type of files are just dirty modification done to devs to sims2pack (and TS3 is just heavily modified TS2). Sticky CC behaviour for sims2pack was an intended feature while you were shared lots and sims in TS2. While exporting lots or sims, the game was also saving used CCs into it. Mostly to make sure lots or sims looked as you intended. This "feature" (more annoyance who forced me to use Sims2Pack Clean Installer) was disabled in sims3pack files, but somewhat game trying to "understand" corrupted data form bad virus-like CC would accidentally enable it while exporting stuff to sims3pack and also being later updated to The Exchange )if you choose to do it). All of this happened because of crazy chains of random and sneaky bugs. Yep, not a crazy plot created by malicious modders to make sims players miserable. Just silly bugs, fooling around. And people who bullied those modders affected by them should feel terrible about this. I hope you understand my nerdy rambling.

My only gripe is majority of the video for this has nothing to do with what is being talked about. It was really jarring for me and seemed lazy. Like when you tubers have gaming news to give but for the video just show random stream footage that isn’t even related to the game they’re discussing news for.

The sims 2 is also…kinda insane? The Alina of detail and effort and love that went into it, I’m sure they were so focused on all the features they wanted to add they didn’t realize deleting sims would lead to corruption (that’s most of what causes it) which is understandable, also reviving certain sims from base game( a feature added in University Life) would lead to it. A lot of the corruption is caused by things simple mistakes the devs made that then shipped in basegame, mistakes they never repeated (all deceased sims have complete character data, no deleting urns or graves, etc)

@@sisi2654 There definietly was no fire, since game still containts some remnant files from early development of Sims 2 (otherwise they would be gone, right? I mean, they would be either destroyed or not needed if game would have to be built from scratch). Likely truth is the main reason for the state of Sims 2 is EA (big surprise), since Sims 2 came in less than a year after Sims Makin Magic (from what I recall), and Sims 1 overall had only 4 year run which possibly leaves only like 2 - 2.5 year for development time (hence the early screenshots looking different, since it seems Sims 2 early on was built on Sims 1 base, before it changed into full 3d with new game engine). Also, you're completly right about them not realizing corruption, since early on it looks just like some minor bugs that were less important to fix than to have the game running due to rush (and Maxis most likely were using in game delete tool in hood development, since SimPE shows shredded sim data of unknown sims, similar to what happens when you manually use the in game delete family button or remove sim files). Or they noticed it, but game was too far into development to just scrap it and start a new one (because deadlines or something). But I think they were aware of the upcoming ressurection from University, since it was only like 6-7 months after base game was released. And they preemptivly made many of the problematic premade deceased Sims non ressurectable through normal gameplay. Look that many of those that are accesible without cheats/modding work almost as fine as premade sims. Oh, and I assume those deletion problems were never fixed due to either: a - people would complain for lack of delete button, and reworking it most likely would require rewritting the whole game (which apparently has like 1.1mln lines of code), b - once a feature like household bin was implemented they couldn't really remove/block it, people very likely wouldn't understand, c - some stuff happens due to usage of in game cheats/3rd party programs, they couldn't prevent people from doing that and it already was stuff of "do on your own rist" kind.

She also made one for the sims 2 and everything was fine. But the one for sims 3 was somehow corrupted. I heard that ahe had two files for it (one has a sing to option like the imaginary friend) and she uploaded the wrong one which unfortunately was the unfinished and corrupted one.

It's Just Arin I watched a video on it and I think she made it like that for some reason? Apparently she had no intention yo upload the one with the scripts that were messed up, then it just spiraled and people who wanted to mess up others games hid the scripts in their own creations, kinda like the long boots and that one weird top that glitches out the children toddlers and babies.

It's Just Arin WickedWhims wasn’t designed for that. Someone messed with the code on their own. The devs for WickedWhims are pretty pissed that someone created that and have disavowed it entirely.
