Mike Missanelli reacts to the series-ending Game 6 between the Sixers and the Knicks and reflects on a truly entertaining series. What's next for this 76ers squad? #sixers #nba #mikeymiss #betriversnetwork
Mike you are spot on about Tobias Harris and I totally agree about Maxey he needs get to the next level. The Sixers need a solid rebounder and another solid defender.
Stop. Just stop. In fact, record this statement ten years ago and just replay the recording. It isn't about the role players. If it was, how on earth do they always get beat by less talented teams? It's about culture. They have never built the kind of culture to be a real contender. It starts with the owner and filters on down. As long as the current owners are there, they will never ever ever get to an ECF, let alone win a title. They are the Jerry Jones of the NBA.
More ice cold commentary from Darren…Mike asks him about his reaction, and Darren’s first words are that he’s not a big Sixers fan, then talks about…his daughters…?
I find it disconcerting that so many are praising the series. It was a series because the Sixers never ever play to their potential. They always get outworked by the other team. The fact that the games were so close is a testament to how the Knicks, who are the less talented team, never took possessions off, yet the Sixers always will have possessions that they take off. They were down by 20 at the beginning of the game for crying out loud. I thought everyone in this town were through with making excuses for this disaster of franchise. I guess I'm wrong. Make no mistake, this franchise is done. They will go nuts in free agency and we will be back in this same place next season. Then they will have no choice but to blow it up. You cannot spend ten years making awful decisions and expect to miraculously be a contender. This series was no different than the Celtics, the Heat, the Hawks, and now the Knicks. Excuse me if I'm not so over the moon about yet another playoffs where the team melts down in the guts of the game.
Yes, the Sixers played their heart out but still lost the series. That's the bottom line. How many more excuses will we give the Sixers and The Flyers? The Sixers haven't been to the NBA Finals since 2001. The Sixers played their heart out in 1980 and 1982 but lost the finals to the Lakers. They won the 1st 2 games against the Trailblazers in 1977 but lost the next four. In that series, they played their heart out in game 6, but still lost the series. Thank goodness they won in 1983. That team should have been a dynasty, especially after drafting Charles Barkley in 1984, but they couldn't return to the Finals. The Sixers back then could only make the 1985 Eastern Conference Finals. The Sixers need to keep Maxey and Embid and let most of the rest of this team go, especially Harris. If not, we're not going to contend for an NBA Championship. That's the hard truth of the matter. Since they were eliminated last night, now it's 42 years without a championship, and the way this team is built, they can't contend against the Celtics, Will the Knicks have an easier time against the Pacers? Maybe so, but you have to play the games first. We'll see. It's mostly likely a Celtics-Knicks Eastern Conference Final.
Compare what Tobias did this series with what MPJ did in the Nuggets series. 76ers need someone like that or maybe a Jerami Grant type player... Mikal Bridges... the list of players that would be better than Tobias Harris goes on... especially on his salary...
Now what? Embiid is the only player under contract that is guaranteed if he’s going to repeat the last 10 years of getting injured he’ll never be the best version of himself and that’s not good enough because the injuries will always be a factor on how far this team can go. They got to get better supporting players guy’s that can break defenders down and get their own shots.
With this Sixers organization, you could ask "WHY" to most everything they do. They finally have cap space, but they'll find a way to screw this up too!
If the Sixers draft Bronny 😂? That's the only scenario in which see Lebron coming here...Philly isn't a..."glamor destination" for superstar free agents, like a Los Angeles, NY, Golden State, etc.
@ppunch7050 Siakim played 2 good games in the Pacers series then he disappeared... Sorry it's a HARD pass 4 me... Kawhai along with KD, Clay injuries are the reason that TO team won a chip
Mike has a tendency to shit on players that are fan favs. When fans loved TJ McConnell Mike shit on him constantly. Fans loved Utley and Mike bursts that fan bubble. Kelly Oubre gets love from the fans and Mike shits on him. With the possible exception of Utley none of these players are all timers but for whatever reason their play and personality identifies positively with the fan base. Yet and still Mike will gladly shit on them. Don’t really agree or disagree with Mike but I think this is an interesting position Mike chooses to take.
NN was brutal in series. If he just tried Council Im assure u he would have helped over Harris and that washed bum Lowry. I never liked Lowry and how he acted at end of game and in post game goodbye. If NN pulled any random fan out of stands would have helped more then these 2. Bottom line its another flame out when they should have won this series just like Hawks series just like LY when they go home up 3-2 on Boston. Think about how manu fking times they have lost at home after a monster win 2021 lost game 7 hawks 2022 lost game 6 miami 2023 lost game 6 bos 2024 lost game 6 ny Unfucking real
Again with the coach complaints. Just record this ten years ago and replay it. First Brett Brown stunk, then Doc, and Now Nurse can't coach? I hope they fire him and bring in another guys so we can then complain about another coach. Did you ever consider that maybe, just maybe, it isn't the coach? What coach can put toughness and heart into the team's best player so that he's actually a presence in the fourth quarter? No coach can do that. If Embiid had the want to of a guy like Josh Hart, they would have won a couple titles by this point. He isn't Hakeem. He isn't Shaq. He isn't Kareem. He simply doesn't have the steel you need to take over in the guts of a playoff game and carry your team to a finals. He just doesn't.
Man that embid is good isn’t he? He was able to fool all you guys thinking he’s playing the series on 1 leg so he’s got no pressure and has that excuse for when they inevitably lose! He didn’t fool me he’s full of crap. He had his knee FIXED and then rehabbed it so how was he on 1 leg? Did he tear it again? Well we shall see, I’m still expecting to hear he’s having surgery. If we don’t hear that then y’all will know I’m right
Nope I don’t care about the sixers anymore. They had there chance. Nobody says I want to play with embid. I don’t know why but nobody wants to come here
Yep blitzed and battered Maxey and no fouls called. Meanwhile, Brunson gets every little touch called. That's not why they lost, but it's still b.s.. When is this league going to give Maxey his?
76ers just got beat by a team with one guy who can score consistently. The Knicks are an overachieving joke, but the 76ers are a bad joke. Morey needs to be fired yesterday.
Lol keep crying from Galveston, TX. The only joke is a team and fanbase that embraces tanking for years and have done nothing but make bad decision after bad decision. Generational big man and still no ECF appearance. Sixers future is indeed not bright at all. Enjoy the process, if it’s even uploaded 🤡🤡
