First with the positive. It is an ingenious climbing invitation. I first saw this 2 years ago an was amazed. So why did I not jump at it? Compared to one sticking with a using my repel line as my tether this system is incomplete. It requires you to carry a platform and set up a tether when you have reached your height. One sticking you reach your height and already have your platform an tether in place. It is too expensive for an incomplete system. Fidget time goes through the roof when you make your saddle hunting climb. I have a Treetop Outdoors one stick that converts into a backpack to carry my upper layers. I love it because it is universal, and complete. Thanks for the demo. Take care.
You can use the Tether to Climb and you can use the Sladder as a platform / ring of steps. It's all about preference because the Sladder Climbing System is so versatile.
As a point of safety, I would recommend always being tethered to the tree without slack if you plan to use this system. A lineman’s belt is not sufficient for this technique. As you mentioned, it’s very easy for your foot to kick out and cause your weight to shift and fall. If that happens without being tethered, you will indeed fall. It may be a foot, or it may be all the way to the bottom. It gets even more dangerous if you have slick bark or are climbing with muddy boots in wet conditions. I otherwise see this system as a very viable option. I would probably purchase and try it if the price was more appealing.
First of all, this is an AWESOME ministry! I just stumbled across your channel and subscribed. Second, I purchased the Sladder last year. Used it during last season and can say it is a genius idea. I started saddle hunting with the one-stick method and still do from time to time. I found and began using the Sladder and love the simplicity and ease of use. For anyone considering it, there is definitely a learning curve to get past. It can feel bit awkward at first but quickly becomes a breeze.
@@revjmckee5150 thank you so much! The support means a lot! What do you hunt out of or off of when you get to the height you want to be at? A platform or hang on stand?
Man didn't realize you was a believer as i think this the first vid ive watched of yours..im subbed..pray for me brother. Going thru a hard time w my wife an stuff and its because of my sin brother
@@StealthTRD definitely will pray for you! We all make mistakes and can learn from them. Grateful for God’s grace myself because I am far from perfect.
Aider is handy but I dont like using one and I definitely have no desire to do all that work to use the sladder. Setting a few sticks just seems easier
A lot of guys from the south tell me their trees are poles for 30--40' I don't have a mobile Hunting rig for that. In the northern Midwest with good limbs at 20' feet, my new rig is King. Especially if you're a saddle Hunter!! My first full gear test, one climb hang and set to hunt 20' 3 minutes 40 seconds, no climbing sticks. My video the xop vanish strap was bound up but I was at 17' in 2:40 and usually really quiet.
Interesting concept. To me it just seems way too complicated. Definitely, gives hunters another light wait option, but it’s not for me. I’m having a difficult enough time trying to decide on climbing with sticks, Bullman steps or Wild Edge.
@@kevinanderson4610 I thought it seems complicated as well until I tried it. So much easier than I thought it would be. Thanks for watching and good luck this season!
Cool product nice video. my one Takeaway for you and everybody watching would be not to use a lineman belt as you are. It is unsafe. The Linemen belt is for positioning i.e. going around a tree limb or such.. You should be tethered in with no slack at all times. Be safe out there.
subscribed! I’ve watched a few of your videos in the past. They’re very informative and well put together. Thanks for doing what you do. Keep up the good work and stay safe.
@@perry296 that tree was leaning a little bit. If I have time after all the other videos I will get one out, but not sure if I can. My hunting season starts in a month!
@reviveoutdoors4him I've thought about trying out a climer tree stand. I'm not too fond of heights. I've been looking for a cheap used one just in case it doesn't work out for me.
@@Patrickmetaldetecting are you wanting a climber to have a bar around you to rest a weapon on or to make you feel more comfortable? Or just looking for something easy to climb with?
I will admit it looks cool going up. No way in hell would I climb it down though. I would rappel down. I will prolly never walk down a set of sticks again. Rappelling is easier and safer.
@@jayb3711 thanks for watching! I used a stick ladder for a long time, but it just wasn’t as easy to me to move as something like this or climbing sticks. Good luck this season! Please subscribe if you haven’t yet to help us out!
It's funny how you edited the part where it supposedly came undone when you pulled it up.. That's about as shady as it gets. Hope you at least make a few bucks off the promo.
@reviveoutdoors4him Why did you edit the part when you pulled it up? The most important part was cut. The camera was obviously on it, and it cuts to you you pulling it up no problem. I'm not saying that the system is bad, but this review made me hesitate every buying it. Show the quarks so we know the good and bad. This is the first year for me to try out one stick. I'm using the latitude method 2 with a carbon stick. Xwing and madrock safeguard. Safeguard just came today.
@@casey197930 my intentions were not to cut an important part and I am definitely not shady. I assume I cut due to audio and not video. I typically cut parts where I am not speaking to shorten the video time. The hook pops off so easy I didn’t consider it that important, but I appreciate the feedback! Here is a link to the first video I did in person with Vinny and to his channel for more videos: THE SLADDER CLIMBING SYSTEM | UNDER 2 POUNDS! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5slhBqR-gUA.html youtube.com/@grayskwerel?si=21m1e53Qs127Kf-6 Good luck and happy hunting this season!
