If you’re watching this, considering following the plan and starting your journey, I’ll make it clear for you. I started watching his videos in January (2024), and 1/29/24 was my first day deciding to DO. I’m 6’1” and was approx 265 lbs. I do struggle to reach 1g of protein per lb however I’m never hungry. With daily walking and 2-3 days weight training weekly, I’m 235lbs, my face is much slimmer and my shoulders and arms are beginning to have a muscular shape. It is 4/7/24.
I’ve done the same starting in 2021…I tried to reach out for coaching and to be a testament for others, however I never to my knowledge was given a response
@@shannonstiles7357 I just try to consume the most protein that I can while having the least amount of calories. I usually end up around 120-180g of protein daily. I depend heavily protein shakes, 2 daily (EHP Labs Chocolate Decadence 1 scoop, 2 TBSP of PB2 powder and 8 ounces of Silk Almond Milk Extra Protein) because I fast intermittently until dinner time each day. For dinner I’m usually making salmon, tuna, chicken or egg whites with some source of protein in it (which are all foods I genuinely enjoy anyway) so it seems easy. After dinner I’m stuffed. I track the calories that I eat as well as the calories I burn. Most people also burn 2000-3000 calories naturally so I aim to burn at least 700-1000 throughout my workouts each day. Workouts became much easier as well. By the beginning of the 2nd month, I started wanting to exercise. At this point, I feel incomplete and disappointed in myself when I can’t find the time to exercise in a day. So I can say my body changing quite quickly. 231lbs this morning.
I am a medical professional that educates patients all day in an office with only a 30 minute lunch. I drink coffee in the morning, eat 2 cans of tuna with hot sauce for lunch with a 30 G protein drink. Walk one mile for my 30 minute lunch. Eat banana 🍌 with Oiko sugar free 20 G protein before my workout and eat fish with veggies for dinner. For my busy days. I keep it simple. Weekends I am more creative. Hope this helps someone.
I took Dr. DIAMOND's advice for 4 weeks now, im down 6 pounds, my face looks slimmer, my chest is rounding out, and my belly fat is slowly fading away. His wisdom WORKS.
I know I'm not one of your clients but you have been one of the best in teaching me and many others of the importance of our dieting and health, I've tried your meals and I love them, not only I'm feeling more energy for exercising, workouts and daily activities but I'm hitting my intakes of my macros a lot more easier, keep doing what you're doing mate and helping more people in their health and nutrition
Dr. Mike, thank you for your invaluable & practical advice...I'm a 55 yr old male who has struggled with losing belly fat for decades...you kept me motivated & moving toward accomplishing my goal of 15% body fat...best regards & thx again
I've been second guessing this weight loss journey, wondering if I'll ever reach my goal. Had some doubt after 2 months of consistent 5 day workouts. After watching this video, my spirit has been lifted. Thank you Dr. Mike!
Ok now I know why I am skinny and not progressing . 150 pound and I eat 40 to 70g of protein a day as a vegetarian . Need to triple this amount from now . I come back in a month or two with a feedback . Thank for all the value you share on your channel 🙏🏻
ive been following your guidelines and its made a massive difference to my fat loss. once i add some carbs back into my high protein/fat was gold. plus i increased walking 1 hour a day and 2 hours on the weekend. ive given myself 16 weeks to achieve 6% fat loss. thx your amazing.
Hey Mike it’s R.A I just wanna start by saying I love all your videos, I also noticed the scientific visuals you added to your videos to help those of us who are visual learners. One thing I would like to add is more lifestyle type videos to see exactly the persona of someone who’s work ethic is as high as yours. Thank you again. -R.A
I love this method! So happy you shared this, as a woman in her 30s I find it super difficult to hit protein bc I’m so focused on carbs and fats but end up still being hungry You literally just gave me a breakthrough I will focus on protein first then fats and leave carbs last Dr Mike you’re amazing 🤩
Doctor Mike thank you. You are truly amazing and very credible. I appreciate the fact that you don't try to sell us anything but instead you just provide a ton of very useful information. God Bless you and thank you so very much.
I am vegan so I eat the Orgain Simple Nuts and Seeds protein powder, nut butters, and tofu as my main protein sources. I also add PB2 protein powder because it has way less fat and cals than peanut butter. Beans are great sources too, but since I have IBS I have to avoid them. But just 1 block of tofu has 70 grams of protein and 1 block of impossible burger has 60g of protein. Very easy to hit your numbers.
Honey, no. Especially with IBS. How about working in some eggs + fish. Meat builds muscle. Glutamine will help heal your gut. Red meat contains the most Glutamine. Also some Slippery Elm root + Marshmallow root will soothe your tummy along with peppermint tea + Green tea with ginger. Been through it too 💗.
Deli meat is the easiest (and laziest way) of hitting 150 or 200g protein. It's already cooked, sliced and ready to go. Throw it on some protein bread with nice butter and that's proper high protein sandwiches
Thank you for this ~ working out hard 4 days a week + one day with a personal trainer. eat as you should. the results are conspicuous by their absence though... Start % 40.6 ) 0.8% fat loss in 5 weeks, muscle mass increased 0.4% in 5 weeks...
Protein is the building blocks but getting the correct amount of fat is equaly as important. think of the fat as the cement that sticks the building blocks together but if your fats are to high then your just adding extra glue to the blocks and you get muscle and fat the idea is to get the correct amount of fat just to make the blocks stick but not to much to get access fat to your storage :P thats the trick if your fat is to low then the building blocks dont stick together :P
@@Landonwilkinsonfishing depending on the person but if your on a cut usually 200 grams of protein minimum then fats usually any where from 50-70 depending wont go lower then 50 then the rest of the remaining calories go to carbs. if your on a bulk your fats can go higher maybe 100-125 depending you can always adjust your macronutrient ratios
I'm currently on a cut and for breakfast and lunch I just have an egg with some beef jerky and fortify it with some EAA powder and a little more leucine, I also add a few supplements like a low dose multi & fish oil with a few sips of Grapefruit Juice.
I started watching his videos almost two weeks ago.. im coming up to almost 1 year of my weight loss journey and i manage to loose around 8kg by working out 3-4 times a week and try to eat healthy but i felt stuck for sometimes not loosing any more weight although i was working out a lot.. i started intermediate fasting a week ago and currently on second week and i eat almost 50g of protein for breakfast, lunch and dinner.. i can say that i lost 1kg ever since and my belly ia gone down significantly
Dr. Diamonds, can I just live with you and learn your ways? Seriously, your knowledge has improved my physical condition in just a matter of 3 weeks. However, due to my own mathematical flaws, I'm having trouble calculating my food amounts, weights, grams, etc. So I need to work on that.
This is a great video and I like your positive attitude I have a question, can vegetarians and vegans like myself lose belly fat by consuming more protein like meat eaters?
That’s true high level protein and other stuff is important but workout is also very important , and everyone can’t do heavy workouts so for them going with traditional workouts is a best option . We are here to reintroduce our traditional workouts like mudgar moves, gada movement and other swings so that our new generation will be aware of it and have sufficient knowledge that working out in gym is not a single option for them , they can also perform lot of methods at home , if you agree them please comment and show your support 🙏🏼
I’m hearing you should aim for your goal weight in proteins. I’m 215 with 28% body fat at 5’11. Did my macros for a calorie def is proteins 193g carbs 98g fat at 66g. I’m a railroader on a train 12hrs a day sitting, on call sleep schedule. Thats my issue.
Hi Mike. I have been fasting for 20 hours a day however I find it very hard to eat that much protein in a 4 hour window. Do you think it's best to eat more protein over a longer eating period, or fast for long (20 hours a day) and eat less protein? Kind regards
Skipping breakfast makes it hard to get the daily protein goals for me. So intermittent fasting is a no go. I eat eggs, liquid egg whites, salmon, sardines, bison, and tofu to hit my protein goals.
What I don't understand now is how many grams or what percentage of carbohydrates, protein, and fats should I consume? I understood 1 gram per pound, but is a High Carb/Low Fat diet being recommended here, or is it more of a Low Carb/High Fat diet?
So if a person isn’t able to workout in a gym or do excessive exercise due to age or physical issues.. what are your answers? If you can answer or solve this restricting question, you were sent to earth by God❤️
I dont eat breakfast (intermitent diet), I do calories defizit every day as I go 3-4 time per week jogging (8-15km). 2-3 times per week I begun with Muscletraining. My bodyfat burned like hell and I am happy about the progress but my belly is still having a bit fat and I am losing shoulders instead of belly :)
Dr. Diamonds, Ive already lost weight following your videos👍However I'm plant based and having trouble getting all of my protein in. Can I achieve fat loss and muscle growth consuming vegetable protein only? Any suggestions? Thankful in Tx!💪
I find it very easy to up my protein intake as an omnivore, but I‘ve been focusing on a more plant based diet in the past month and my protein intake has been very low. I struggle to find vegan sources of high protein.
I am doing better with my protein. I am 166 pounds and try to get in 160grams of protein a day. I eat lean beef, chicken, egg whites, eggs and vegan protein powder. I can't do Whey because I am lactose intolerant
Me too, but I se Dymatize iso100 protein powder. Almost non existent lactose and solved my problem. There are other brands too that don’t have lactose.
Is it better to consume 1 gram of protein per pound of your current body weight, or your target body weight? For example if you're 200 lbs and want to be 180lbs, should you eat 200g or 180g or protein?
I have heard from other trainers that IF 1 gram per lb feels like a lot for you to consume then 1 gram per goal weight would be the next option to explore.
Ok I'm have 132 pound weight. Means I will eat 132 grams of protein every day. No problem with that. Love to eat protein sources. But what about other macros? How many grams of fat? How many grams of carb will it be?
Been trying to get hit my protein goal of 180g per day. This is tricky, considering im intermittent fasting and trying to remain under 1800 calories each day. Hard to sqeeze that much protein into a 5 hour feeding window. Thinking about dropping carbs and going full carnivore.
I currently weigh 218 lbs. (I was 242). I have increased my protein to 100g of protein. I am diabetic and was recently placed on Mounjaro (lowest dose 2.5) 1.5 months ago, which has slowed down my metabolism. I started cardio/strenght training 5x week and I can feel some appetite peeking through the mounjaro. I only eat lunch and dinner. Maybe a snack in between. I've reduced carbs down to 20grams a day. I will try 50grmas of protein for lunch, for dinner and possibly for a snack. Anything I should keep an eye out as a diabetic?
Is the protien more important, or the amino acids? Im asking because i cant eat a lot of protein because of my kidneys. Should i take amino acids supplements instead?
Eat what is right for ur body. Americans have an over hyped obsession with protein intake. U do need protein to build muscle but it’s possible without the amount they say u need. And also in general long term high protein diets are bad for u over all. But people are stuck in the protein obsession and will fight u on that like their life depends on it.
Is my metabolism just badbad? -m 6' M 30 -lift weights 6Day PPL and walk 10-12k steps every day -2000 calories Strictly the same 2 meals and protine shake -200g protine and I've been 220lbs for 6 weeks. I'm not sure if it's healthy to cut calories lower than this
You're probably not actually in a deficit. Double check your foods and calories burnt. With all those steps a day it's hard to see how your weight has not decreased. That's wild!!! ☹️
If you're obese, you got to lose weight first, asap. Calories deficit helps, just a little bit of discipline and patience, and you're good. Eating 400g of protein will never work, if you are 400lbs. Well, except for the case if you eat nothing else but this 400g of protein, lol.
I’m 34, my height is 180cm and my weight is 72kg. I am actually trying to get more muscles getting also some weight (i was 67kg couple of months ago and obviously underweight) i gained some kilos and muscles but also some love handles and a bit of belly fat..i am around 18% body fat i guess. Shall i keep going until 74-75kg at least and then try to cut or shall i cut now to 70kg going in deficit? I dont know if cutting now i’ll end up losing the muscles i got and go back to step 1 where i started feeling very small..i try to eat good amount of proteins (2gr per kilo as minimum) but I don’t know what would be the best way to balance my macros or if to cut carbs down a lot..Whoever wants feel free to share their wisdom 🙏
Take care of your kidneys and drink water. With high levels of protein water should almost be your only drink of choice and electrolytes drinks. Im not a doctor but if you get a health check up and they see those high levels of protein and youre not drinking adequate water you will be notified about your kidney function. Every action has a reaction and also constipation. I never seen this doctor before so maybe he mentioned this but ive been on keto and i eat a large amount of protein. Even if you don't do keto drink water water water. It will help your body digest the protein and stop constipation and dizziness. Protein poisoning is real. Be safe on your journey and balance is important. Throw some fiber in there it can be fruit, green vegetables or a metamucil like products or even eat a lemon or orange. But done get tyn el vision.
I can eat enough protein for my body weight but I notice when I workout, MyFitnessPal ups my protein from less say 150 to 250. Do I need to eat 250 or as long as I get at least 150 in (my body weight) is that good enough?
