Smash documentary was great but I wish there was more stuff like this into that doesn't necessarily fit into the narrative, or the linearity, but is just a showcase of the game at its best. Maybe it's not big enough to be in something like that and is better suited to RU-vid compilations though
it's funny, I forgot about this comment, but I made a similar comment on the new LSL video. Its crazy to me that 'Wombo Combo' isn't in the doc. This is seperate to what I would have liked to have seen in the doc, but i think cutting and editing these types of stories to showcase the magic of melee into one larger project would be really cool.
superfreegoat One of the European tips for Sheik refers to "her" as a "he", however I've noticed that the American versions say "she". I'll try and take a picture if I see it again. Interesting though I might say.
This clip would have maybe been the best part of the doc. And Amsah is such an incredible interview. Why wasn't he in it more? Maybe Samox just didn't have access to him to interview before the release. That's the only thing that makes sense. I really hope Amsah is in metagame because he's hilarious and he's a great storyteller.
He's european. It's like americans just refuse to accept that there has always been a high level smash scene in europe too. They don't know that players like Amsah and Ek were probably on the same level as players like Ken and Azen. After playing against Ek, Captain Jack said "I think you are as good as Ken." And Armada has stated that he believe Amsah was possibly the best player in the world at some point, but he never got a chance to show it since he didn't go to the US.
Funny Ass Story (WHICH IS TRUE): So I was playing in a doubles tourney, me and my friend decided to troll the tourney by using Jigglypuff and Pichu. I was Pichu and he was Jigglypuff. The tourney was SBMPO before they closed down shop a few years back. We managed to win the tourney somehow and in the grand finals my friend died all 4 times, and I died 3 times. The other team consisted of Marth and Roy, which was a good team because it was a speed and power combo. Roy tried to run and push me off the ledge and I just ducked and Roy fell off so he had 1 stock. Marth still had 2. Then the team just fucked up from there. Mainly because Roy kept hitting Marth accidently and killing him. While I just kept taunting. And when I won the crowd was dead silent.
Mikey Seeley Why would you turn off friendly-fire? It fights off campers (is that the right wording?) and opts for utilizing interesting mechanics like if you're a Ness and your teammate is a Ness, you can heal your teammate by your teammate using his down b and you use the up b into that.
I'm still playing and loving this game in 2020. Had to come back and watch this. Fuck, that combo that Amsah did is a classic and so is this whole match.
i remember being there to see this, it was probably the most amazing smash moment i ever saw live. What is not mentioned in the video is that this was the final game and the set was tied 3-3. That match was the beginning of amsahs reign as euro champion.
A very similar thing happened to me once, but actually in doubles. I was down to the last stock and the opposing team had two stocks each. The opposing team was Luigi and Falcon and I was playing Sheik. I figured it was hopeless and _almost_ killed myself, but decided against it at the last moment. Then by some amazing luck, the Luigi misfired into his teammate on the ledge, and suddenly four stocks became two stocks. I ended up making the comeback from there. To be fair, it was pretty early in the bracket, and no one in my scene takes doubles that seriously, but I was still proud of myself.
Sheik is great for doubles in general. Really good support character, especially in Smash U. (Though imo sheik kinda sucks in every other aspect in smash U)
You can say that, but she's just ZSS with no killing power and less range. I've never heard her be regarded as one of the best outside of you people on this comments thread. And she has no boobs. Think about what's important here.
He sounds like Jeremy from Pure Pwnage when he says "He took my first stock but I said it's ok calm down." By the end of it I was expecting him to get up and driving the school bus
EK got DESTROYED in the WORST WAY imagineable getting destroyed by a comeback is actually alot worse then getting perfected IMHO its just like justin wong getting destroyed by daigo's comeback i want EK's commentary on this
If you take what Amsah said in context, and watch the footage, he is referring to it being used to help marth get up from the ledge, for which it isn't as good as a lot of other get up attacks (Falco, Falcon, ect)
at 3:38 put the speed on 0.25 and it seems like amsah is talking like hes high lol nontheless tho greatest comeback of all time! i love amsah i think he plays so good hes my 2nd fav sheik next to m2k
if you came here to say stuff like that then leave. is called an opinion meaning i didnt ask for yours. if you actually took the time to read the rest of the stuff i said then maybe you would of figured out that i like amsah as a sheik player if your one of those people that "defend their idol". have a nice day.
just as an fyi marths getup attack should be used to edge guard opponents when they can either go for the edge or land on the edge of the stage because it covers both (for example in the marth ditto) this applies to all percents. He is talking about it on stage tho where it sucks, but that doesn't mean the move sucks over alll
