I rode up the closed gate of the classic old Snake and hiked the closed areas of the notorious hairpin. Many may know this area from the old @RNickeyMouse channel.
For years it was the most popular turn for supercars, superbikes and infamous crashes. It encountered a big fire, the woolsey fire, in 2018, and the road opened shortly that fall/winter,b before getting washed out for good ever since.
I hope this video shows that there's still a future for the snake. It has been open to ped/cyclists recently, but theres a new sign that says close to all until all until May 1. It looks like they're working weekdays.
Let's hope the Snake is reborn again this summer!!
