This Movie wasn't that Bad; I remember I Saw it on an Airplane, and only 2 People Walked Out....

I love Fassbender; he really is one of the greatest actors in Hollywood right now, but he needs to get his shit together and star in some good movies again. 2017 has not been his year.

That thumbnail made me LOL.

Fassbender just has been.... The light in the dark void of garbage movies. He's a fantastic actor. He puts so much effort into all of his films. How he is finding himself in all of these disappointing movies is just awkward.

Looks like if you want an amazing "hunt the killer in the snow" movie, stick with Wind River. That was awesome, and had one of the most suspenseful standoff shootouts since the prime of Michael Mann.

Ya know... Back To The Future was rejected 3 or 4 times because of the potential controversy surrounding the idea of Marty's mother being attracted to someone who she didn't know was her son from the future. But this movie... this movie... made it with no struggle. What the actual fuck?

Jo Nesbø and his books, especially this one, have achieved legendary status here in Norway. It´s so weird that they are filming in Oslo, everyone has their original Norwegian names (Harry Hole is the best example) but they´re all speaking english.. It´s no wonder why you didn´t understand Harry since "Snømannen" is the 7th book in the series.. What a disaster this one is.

What a shame. The movie truly looks beautiful. Like I'm probably still going to watch the movie for the cinematography alone. It kinda reminds me of Prisoners And I feel even worse for the director cause after a 6 fucking year break he comes back to direct this disaster lol

I am from Norway and when norwegian critics review movies based on something from Norway it always gets a C in minimum. The highest i have seen this time is a D. Everyone else gives an e or f. That really says something about this movie

That name is so hard to believe so I googled the movie. You weren't kidding, the detective's name really is....Harry Hole. What the fuck?

The Snowman was the first book I read by Jo Nesbø, and it immediately made me a fan. I love all the books about Harry Hole. I was super stoked when I heard a movie was being made, but I don't think I will bother seeing it. The author said himself that The Snowman on the screen was not his story. It's a shame they failed, because there was so frigging much good material for more movies.

For another Haloween review: How about: "In the mouth of madness" ? It's propably one of the best Lovecraft inspired movies out there.

From what I hear a lot of weird things went on behind the scenes. After the initial shoot was done, the director realized they had 10-15% of the book that was simply not shot. They tried to salvage it by doing some last-minute quick reshoots in London (which doesn't look anything like Norway) and even then they missed out key components. Midnight's edge just did a video on it. Worth a watch

Well said. I went to the cinema with my friend and we expected something more horror, some more action. We get quite boring story with amazing scenery. Honesty, the camera was awesome and the snowy nature was very attractive, but that's just all. I hoped that we'll get know what happend between Harry and his ex-wife, some nice flashback, but... nothing. There were some parts, whey I was saying something like "whaat? how is this important? what is just happening?"

I found it very predictable. like every thriller cliche in one movie. I knew who the killer was about half way through the movie. that was when it really went from a so so movie to a bad movie. I like you gave it a D+ to a C-
