I don't know if you have already done this, but could you make a video with all Tup's secenes? He is one of my favourite clones, but he seems to be very ignored when people make this kind of videos.
yeah, that's the thing with the dark side. it isn't all bad and the light side isn't all good. it's yin and yang, darkness in light and vice versa. so that brings the question of how the fuck sidious exists as a force wielder
@@kinda_cold_in_the_closetAlthough this story arc does muddy the idea of that, the Force is not yin and yang. The light and Dark don't exist in balance. The light side is never named in the films because it doesn't exist. There's only the Force, and those who choose to corrupt it. Lucas once said that the Dark Side is akin to a cancerous growth. The Force wants what is best for all life, and the dark side is a corruption of that.
@@godofthecripples1237 well yes but also no. in clone wars, two episodes were dedicated to ahsoka and aayla secura and them being stranded on a planet with people who don't wish to be a part of the war. part of ahsoka's dilemma was being too empathetic and forsaking the light side and falling into the dark as anakin will do. she struggles with this, and gives light to the issue that the force isn't one-sided. one isn't totally good and one isn't totally evil. they're interconnected and feed each other.
The son knows in reality who Palpatine really is bc he's supposed to be the embodiment of the dark side so he must know all dark side users maybe and that means he could of told them who Darth sidieos really but he won't
This is because Sam Witwer, the voice actor of the son, is also the voice of Maul in the clone wars but also the voice of Palpatine in the force unleashed video game series
There was an interview where Witwer talks about that, he originally struggled w portraying an embodiment and went w sounding like diff dark siders. Filoni, not really sure either, lied, said that’s fine and it turned out great!😂
@@reillykoyl6046 Its not a exact line from the Sith code but it does reference a pretty big part of it which is breaking your metaphorical chains using the force.
“He was just so selfish, and was taking to long to die, so I decided to move things along” honestly that line is so cold and Sam Witwer really couldn’t have delivered it any better.
This is pretty much the devil of Star Wars, and that thought alone is terrifying. He's like a mix between every Sith character in the franchise, in the best possible way (everything he says, does, or heck, even his voice are references to past/future villains). Witwer did such an amazing job here
Sam Witwer is such a great voice actor. I love his portrayal as the Son and Darth Maul in the Clone Wars, and as Galen Marek (Starkiller) in The Force Unleashed.
@@PereMarquette1223 well, let's look at the facts here. Canon Palps would get his ass roasted. Palpatine's greatest force-feat there was when he used a force storm to destroy Luke's temple, crushed a fleet-destroying monster easily, stood in the power of a giant kyber crystal and cheated death. The Son created storms here easily, creates red lightning capable of harming a Mortis god, who is lightsaber-proof, can see the future, turned Ahsoka to the Dark Side with a bite than killed her with a tap, is lightsaber proof, and is only weakened with either the Dagger of Mortis or the Death of the Father without a successor. Legends Palpatine would stand a far higher chance. Guy created force-storms over a planet, wormholes and eradicated all life on a planet.
0:19 What a subtle moment of The Son and Maul ask the same question to Obi-Wan both Clone Wars and Rebels, one for Anakin and one for Luke and funny enough voiced both by Sam Witwer
The Son is possibly the most relatable villain in the clone wars. The Jedi just brought a war to his home and took the side of someone who was restricting his off planet movement for no good reason. He just wanted to end the war and destroy the powerful.
He wanted to freedom which is the core of the dark side and what Sith originally represented. The Light and Jedi represent order and structure, but the dark and sith see both as bondage that restrict the freedom and growth of everyone in the galaxy. The Son 100% would have caused some chaos and destruction just being himself, but all he really wanted was the chance to experience the galaxy and be free beyond the planet. To a certain extent the daughter wanted it as well but she (representing the light side) was able to suppress her impulses and acknowledge that they were too powerful of beings to be completely free.
I love the fact that the son loved his sister despite the fact she was his opposite on everything. He hated everyone else but her. Despite his desire to get out, despite knowing she would oppose him, he never wanted to kill her. The fact that killing the Father make the Son mortal? That doesn't make much sense, why would the Son want to kill the Father if it make him vulnerable?
0:19 "Is it true that he is the chosen one?" the way he that line is delivered with his facial expression of just staring into Obi-Wan's soul gives me chills
@@h2ojr1 But the Sith allow that passion to consume them and become evil by the perversion of the force. The darkside is natural, but meant to be accepted and risen above. Which is what the Jedi are supposed to do
Me when clone wars introduced maul: Why does Maul sound like starkiller? Me now: why does the son sound like maul? Sam Witwer is an excellent voice actor.
the son isn't even evil in any sense he is the embodiment of anarchy, contrary to peace however, he still capable of love, and cares for other people to a certain extent if anything he's more human than whatever palpatine is
I just thought of something the reason Ezra blacked out after closing the portal was because he had to channel the Dark Side to close it which like the first time he used it overwhelmed him causing him to faint despite him getting used to it he wasn't ready for using a huge amount of the Dark Side more so since the Son was the literal embodiment of the Dark Side
The son was stated to be the embodiment of selfishness not the dark side, which is why the father stated that his son (fell to the dark side) as if it was a cancer, that's why he embodies the force it self, the daughter is the embodiment of Selflessness. The son and daughter both fuel the dark and light side but they are not their embodiments, the son's force lightning is naturally aquiered when he drunk from the pool of power, his eyes and powers aren't fueled by the dark side, they just belong to him
wasnt he also using the dark side before that in the beginning of season 3 when they did that whole "ezra is falling to the dark side" fake out for like 2 or 3 episodes
@@rileyd2025 It also started back in Season 1 I think but he just felt it but Season 3 he learned some tricks to the Dark Side but stopped using them with him basically blocking it off till he activated the temple with the Mortis Gods with you using both sides of the Force to open and close it which means unless you have experience in both like Revan, Mace Windu, Anakin, Luke or Ezra
@@somedumbspammer4408 Yep, The Force Unleashed; Sam Witwer also had to pull double duty as Starkiller there. Sam also voiced Palpatine on the original cut of Rebels: The Siege of Lothal (there's an Amazon Prime cut that replaced his take with Ian McDiarmid's, which I believe was made during the making of the final season of Rebels)
That’s intentional actually! In an interview Sam Witwer said that when they had filmed the earlier parts of the arc he feared that he sounded to much like Star Killer, when he brought this up to Dave Filoni he reassured Sam by saying it was a good thing, so from there on out he tried to channel multiple Dark Side users into his performance, with certain lines sounding a lot like them.
These comments must be horrible demotivating, but thank you for making these videos. They actually made me like star wars again :) your videos certainly are the best of its kind.
This was before Disney brought star wars. I was excited that the mortis arc would foreshadow abeloth and Luke's new jedi academy in the future but alas it could no longer bloom into that because of new management. And their first order of business was to axe all the established lore to create their own shitty version.
They were gonna referenced in the original Rise Of Skywalker script. The Ones were possibly gonna be casted for the film but that will sadly never see the light of day now.
Well there is a theory floating around that Anakin is the new Father and also the guardian of the World Between Worlds, and Ashoka will be the new Daughter and Galen Marek is the new Son.
I remember when rebels first came out I thought the son and the grand inquisitor were the same person and I was so confused because I thought he was supposed to be dead
4:21 a kid's cartoon. Yeah, what I said. I remember Clone Wars airing on Cartoon Network. I somehow missed how dark it was when I was a kid myself. It really is a dark, but great series.
WHAT DO YOU KNOW OF SUCH THINGS!? 🤨🤺 Love how quick obi wan & ahsoka were ready to put the son down for even speaking on anakin. Wudda gotten murked but they were ready lol.
Fun fact: sam witwer choose to incorporate different star wars villains into his performance. You can hear vader, dooku, maul, star killer, palpatine, in his voice by because thats what he's going for.
Palpatine is way more evil and cruel than the son the son cares for his father and has a bit of good in him unlike Darth sidious who has no redeeming qualities
3:01 That's was horrible thing that the Son kidnapped Ahsoka because they preditced that she will react Anakin to search Luke and to kill Palpatine in rebels season five with Ezra and Bad Batch. Ahsoka's scream is very wild like an kidnapped Bird
Notice how all this the lines palpatine has ever used the sun uses too then now you will die in the way he says the jedi and I probably missed some but there's a lot of comparisons that says a lot about the dark side itself
I'm also pretty sure when he overpowered both it was more of a trial and he passed because he was the chosen one not because of his raw power because it seems the son is much more powerful
He had access to his full potential as the Chosen One when he channels the realm but most of the time he isn’t doing that and is in his base power which is nothing to the Son ofc lol
The Son: Chains. ⛓️ Chains are the easy part it's what goes on in here that's hard!!! Darth Maul: 😰😰😰"Chains. ⛓️ Chains are the easy part, it's what's goes on in here that's hard!!!"
