So arlecchino wants to be the complete opposite, a 'father' who shows herself as being strict and unfeeling while being caring on the inside(maybe) or just not being 2-faced like the previous knave and doesnt pretend to be someone she isnt

saddest part is Clervie most probably ran into the sword on purpose since she knew Peruere wouldn't be able to strike the finishing blow... "I'm sorry" for her sacrifice, "thank you" for all the years they spent together

You can go to the place where Crucabena was killed, it’s in Mt. Essus, you can see a ruined building up there, near the waterfalls.

There is a cut to a sword with an orange ball after Clervie's death which might represent the unnamed blonde haired girl with the Bulle Fruit hair tie, so most likely all the other kids are dead too just like the storybook in the beginning foreshadowed.

If you noticed Clervie has the same flower that "Mother" has, she said that she should have killed it instead of waiting for it to wither. She also said that kindness and innocence are such fantastic traits but they are useless. People also speculate that Clervie is the birth daughter of the first Knave and i guess she didn't see the potential in her daughter that's why she started getting orphans to create her champion "king". Thank god Clervie showed that kindness to Arlecchino. Which in turn made her dismantle the the foundation of the house of the hearth. Another thing to note. You mentioned that Arlecchino became the antithesis of "Mother" "Mother" in the beginning shows herself as caring and loving to the young kids. But as they grew older her agenda of creating a king and her becoming ruthless is prominent. "Father" Arlecchino that we have now states that she shall be unfeeling like a father. If she truly is the opposite of mother then she would care for the kids and instead of leaving one to become king she would train them to work with one another. My mind is firing in all cylinders. I don't know if you noticed the flower symbolism, Clervie was wearing a necklace of that flower and "mother" was pertaining to her when she said she should have pruned it and not wait for it to wilt "die". I guess that maybe they are the real mother and daughter, like you know they share the same blood, their hair is mostly similar too.

In Japanese Arlechino's words to Mother are way colder in response to the offer. She pretty much says "that's impossible for you" as in she doesn't have what it takes to raise her into a true king.

This animation made me love arlecchino more. The best feeling i got is why shes called the "Father", instead of mother, all i thought its her tomboyish type of character but instead, its because she wanted to be different from her "Mother"

Btw another good detail, Arlecchino's friend, Clervie (Pink haired girl), was the "Mother"'s biological daughter, who was mistreated/abused by her for being too weak. That's why Arlecchino asks "Do mothers usually argue with their daughters?" In CN the mother daughter argument line specifically uses "birth mother", so Clervie was the previous Knave's actual daughter. So "Mother" mentioning "pruning" the Lumidouce Bell before it withered is symbolically worse than initially thought. So we all missed this detail coz of the english localization.

Not only she adopted the opposite of the name "mother" she also do the opposite of what the previous knave is doing like punished the one who failed on thier task while arlecchino reward who do hardwork(like the one scene that arle gave 2 cakes on the traveler because he do the hard work).. the previous knave look caring and sweet while inside she is a demon while arle is strict and unfeeling while inside she cares on her children.. also the old knave teaches children on the young age to fight each other to become the king while arle value teamwork thats why theres like team/division on the house if they do missions. And we know now why she really like cakes. 😢😢😢

You didn't realize it at first but you did realize it soon after Arnold but the "Fairy Tale" being told at the beginning of the short was explaining how the orphanage was run/how the next Knave is selected Basically teaching all the children from a very young age that you're all eventually going to fight to the death to attempt to become the new mother And a subtle difference I'd like to bring up from this is, it seems like the current house of the hearth was taught this very same thing or learned about it but there's no longer a fight to the death, the only death the children experience is the possibility of not returning from a mission and that arlecchino selects the potential next knave not leaving it to some cruel process

Everything about this animation is so sick!! But what is the coolest part of all is Arlecchino using GRAVITY against Mother, so as the building is falling, she cannot escape Arlecchino's slash as she is coming down. Imagine getting slashed at that velocity

OKAY SO HERE'S MY THEORY: (Putting a spacer just to be extra safe I don't want to spoil someone before they can watch the video!!!) Clervie (pink haired girl) was Crucabena's (old harbinger) daughter and she wanted her to take her place but when she didn't show the potential she was looking for she had her prove herself by killing Arlecchino instead of doing it she let herself get killed by her so she didn't kill her best friend

I kinda wish this came out after the character quest was out, it sorta spoils bits of her backstory revealed in her quest before hand, but then again Hoyo has been doing this for years now lmao. I watched this after I did her quest and I feel like it hit way harder, but that’s just me personally!

I'm guessing that rather than forcing her kids to fight each other, she'd rather be the only casualty in the selection of the King. Or if she really is unkind, she might've proposed the same battle royal on Lyney, Lyneytte and Freminet, only they decided to go confront Father instead.

Genshin cooked a full course Honkai meal. We got a 2D-animated short with blood, death, depression, and a song with English vocals (which has previously only been in HI3 and HSR). At the part where Mother says to her "Let me guide you, and you shall become the one true King", in the EN dialogue she says "My answer is no", but in JP she says "It's impossible for you" which made that scene hit different. Curious to know what the original was in CN and what else was different. I'm also interested in knowing more about her curse because I think she wasn't using a vision or delusion during this fight and she just blasted a harbinger into the sky.

after playing the story and coming back to rewatch this, I finally get why Arlechinno is always so calm; something like anger makes you flustered, and emotions make you waver. The only way she was able to beat Mother was when she finally relaxed and stay calm

arlecchino is definitely not "from" khaenriah as in like 500 years old unless she can change her form like adepti. Nor is she stuck in a time stasis unless the curse has started to break for her. Why? Previous arlecchino was still alive till 8-10(total hypothetical number) years ago when Freminet was brought in and used to go on assassination missions under previous arlecchino(surely you have to be at least 10 years old to be trained enough for killing), then the current arlecchino killed and replaced the previous knave..and then Lyney and Lynette join. And we also know that Arlecchino grew up under the previous knave too before she killed her. So yea, she either stayed 400 years under a curse that stopped her age and then she started growing up all of a sudden. Or she is not from 500 years old khaenriah.

I think the biggest reason why Arlecchino is really mad at the previous Harbinger known as "Mother" is cause "Mother" basically called Arlecchino's friend useless and weak cause she was too innocent and kind. Also, another comment said that her friend is the Mother's biological daughter, so yeah

Regarding the location of the fight, It looks similar to a ruin at Mary Ann Memorial park. Idk if the river facing the Mont Esus. But it looks similar. Correction: it's actually at the foot of mount Esus facing the mountain where the institute are. At the waterfall. South east of mont Esus

Fun fact Arnold! Back then when Arlecchino's concept art had been leaked, on the sheet where you could see some of the references used for her, there were some pics of Lady Maria, meaning that the artist working on her probably intended that Bloodborne vibe :) (or they just liked Lady Maria lol)

Commenting again to say, I wonder when exactly this is We don't know how many harbingers exist at this time but if we only believe what we see then including arlecchino we're only at 5 So perhaps at the time of arlecchino's recruitment there's only 4 other harbingers all of them being long lived, there's Capitano but there's no way he's just a normal human under that armor Also if those are the tsarista's words that the jester is saying then this could be somewhat proven true and that instead of immediate rankings the tsarista gave harbingers their titles

1:54 holy shit, I didn't notice it on my multiple viewings, but I finally paid enough attention to it. THAT BAT IS FUCKING DOTTORE ISN'T IT. He has the statoscope and the coat, so literally a doctor. And his plushie is a bat. And Arle's plushie is a bat. So could this mean that Dottore is the one who manipulated Arle's curse from childhood, same as he did to Collei!?!? I CANNOT FUCKING WAIT FOR THE STORY QUEST. Also, her plushie is a vampire bat, so it fits with the blood abilities she has. edit: And there's the shot at 4:36 with the syringe, which I think is yet another clue that the old House did experiments on the children

the curse seems connected to her emotion since when burying her spider the black mark seems to grow but when she is with her friend its noticeably smaller or not there at all

I cannot explain how much emotions I felt during that peak moment. This animation is both majestic and tragic

To add, although Crucabena might've definitely been #4 of the Fatui Harbingers, it's also possible that she was the missing #10 Harbinger. She was easily killed by a child, so power scaling wise, #10 would make sense for her. #4 for Arlecchino would make sense for the sole reason that at a young age she killed a Harbinger, and that curse she apparently has could factor in too.

miHoYo stopped making animation shorts for Honkai Impact 3rd (they are now made with the game engine), but I0m glad to see the team is still active making them for HSR and GI characters. I hope they will make more and more of these animation shorts and even short series like they did for HI3 (ie. Cooking with valkyries or ELF Academy)

Whoever Arlecchino is trying to look for, I am wondering if it's the girl with the pink hair.. although that might be the case, Arlecchino DID just killed her long ago before killing the old knave.. although on the latest news of 4.6, the artwork showing the little girl that is very similar to Clervie which Arlecchino had saw as a friend but had to kill. I am beyond excited for her to come out and so much lore to read and do.

I personally believe that Hoyo shown in that 'pardon' scene all Fatui we will actually have as boss fights: since it is few years ago, Tartaglia is still not one of Harbingers. We fought Signora in Inazuma, Scaramouche in Sumeru and now Arlecchino in Fontaine. Capitano is in Natlan as far as we know and will probably be our main antagonist there. That leaves Pierro for Snezhnaya. Interestingly, it would make us fight Fatui in ascending order: 11-8-6-4-1-0 (assumption on Capitano and Pierro since in video description Pierro is referred to as Director and not Harbinger again, which would put him above Harbingers).

The stuffy that became the king in the story book at the start of the video was the same stuffy that's given to Arlecchino at 3:06 . Maybe it's just the production team hinting towards the progression of video's plot, but maybe it's possible that Arlecchino was already chosen to be the next king when she was a little kid, and the previous Knave just saw other kids as "tools" to train the chosen king.
