I love your idea but the idw comics vary in art style if you feel me so we could get all of the different styles of animation in one tv series which would also be super awesome. The show in a way would be new everytime you watch it.

The only Sonic games and a tv show that is part Anime is: Sonic Adventure,Sonic Advance 1,2,3,Sonic X,Sonic Choras and the Dark Brotherhood,Sonic The Hedgehog 2006,Sonic and the secret rings,Sonic Unleashed,Sonic and the Black Knight,and Sonic Frontiers

It was definitely the best executed ‘90s Sonic cartoon of the bunch, but just because something is well-executed doesn’t automatically make it a faithful adaptation. The series was made back when the franchise lacked the identity and lore that most people recognize today, leaving it up to the writers to handle however they could. If it were made today, it probably wouldn’t have the same identity is had back then.

@@SONICSTA Fr literally we got Paramount n Prime team making Sonic have character development and honestly while the Movie verse is ok imo and Prime is not, still this new Sonic show just gotta be the same Game Sonic that we know n love. Movie tho, reason why I give them a pass since it's not connected to the gameverse and they want to appeal to the new generation on their take of Sonic. Plus if they complete Sonic's growth for Movie 3 by making him like Game Sonic where he's cool, cocky, confident, give no fs attitude, and just a free blue hedgehog who enjoys the adventure, then that's good imo. Prime on the other hand, what hurts it is that it's still connected to the Game verse. I heard Ian said that Prime will explain how it's connected to the Game version once Season 1 ends but tbh, I don't know how they gonna give a good explanation to how Prime is connected to Game Verse because of how they written Sonic. I don't hate Prime but fr like Boom and the 90s Sonic shows, I don't think they are the best at representing who game Sonic is. Sonic X might be the closest thing we have tho. Just wish we got another one like X but only this time have more focus on Sonic n gang wacky/radical world and get Flying Bark studios or other popular animator to work on the show so that the models n fight scene would be stellar 👍🔥

@@SONICSTA Thank you very much. Ironically I think the Sonic OVA comes the closest to what makes a “proper” sonic cartoon. The main game characters are still the focus, the animation quality isn’t bad, the setting is in Sonic’s world and the tone isn’t bad either. The voice acting, dialogue and plot need a lot of fixing though.

You make great points but I think Prime has various other issues that make it not as good as it could be. One thing worth noting is that the jokes, writing, and in my opinion the story telling don’t feel as captivating as they could. And I think that just comes from a lack of understanding in the characters and the world. I get that its trying to be its own thing but it feels off. But even from the standpoint of a “non-Sonic fan”, I’ve seen the complaints that the show leans on a younger demographic. I am more invested in the shorts that SEGA puts out even if they lack dialogue because they feel like passion products

@@SONICSTAI think the reason why the shorts seem to meet your expectations better is because they’re short. By making them short, they’re not risking a whole lot of money and effort compared to a TV series. They also don’t wear out their welcome in this day and age of binge streaming.

I would disagree with Sonic X, yeah, it did somewhat randomly decide to incorporate SA 1 and 2 and Emeril's character, but I think it was a charming enough adaptation.

@@TheSultan1470 I feel the additions would’ve been better integrated if the show had stuck closer to its original premise, with it all happening on Sonic’s world. Making it all take place in separated worlds just made the whole thing feel disjointed. Like, initially, Eggman was introduced as originating from Sonic’s world in the first season, but because they had to adapt SA2 in season 2, they needed to introduce his grandfather Gerald. Instead of just having the ARK appear as one of many locations from Sonic’s universe to manifest on Earth, they instead hand-waved it off as Eggman originating from Earth and somehow got transported to “Mobius” (and at an early age evidently, since he didn’t have any recognition of money upon being brought back to Earth). So if that’s the case, why was he allowed to be sent back to their dimension when they were trying to restore balance by keeping their worlds separated? And the 3rd season introduces a race of humans native to Sonic’s dimension anyhow, so why even have Eggman originate from Earth to begin with?

@@geoffreyrichards6079 The human like characters from S3 are too different to us, I think. Plus, they started the war on Cosmo's planet, so they are clearly close to it. Yeah, with Eggman, there was really no way to explain it except him being sent to Sonic's planet at a young age. Probably the result of a rogue experiment like in the original American Sonic bible. The end of S2 is a bit of an excuse plot for them to go back, maybe Eggman just feels more at home at Sonic's planet and, since he's our kind of human, it doesn't count for the "balance". Chris also teleports to Sonic's planet in S3 and the worlds are fine. Besides, once they've accomplished their mission of reuniting and collecting the chaos emeralds, they had to go back eventually.

After all, it was Sonic Mania crew to put them in the game, Bean and Bark have even less chances for hope. Think about it, IDW comics are especially promoted by Sega of Japan yet Mighty, Ray, Honey the Cat and even Fang and the Hooligans can't make a single cameo in classic Sonic stories yet all of them including that birds villians from Tails Adventure successfully made it into Archie. Not saying they should appear every single time, but I think we both know that new Trip character will be forgotten soon too

What you like about Sonic X is the art style and not the actual animation. Sonic X is mimicking Uekawa’s art style however the animation quality is lacking. Animation is the creation of movement through drawings, and sonic x doesn’t have good quality or consistent animation. The character’s proportions changes in every scene, and as such it isn’t very consistent. The animation isn’t very smooth either. The art-style is lacking to successfully replicate Uekawa’s art as Sonic is too small and he has the incorrect number of quills being 3 rather than 6.

I think the artstyle of Sonic X is good. Great even. The animation however…

@@Powder-Point Good point. It seems like I've come to THAT side of the Sonic fanbase where they criticize the littlest of details. Well, you know what? Sonic X's animation is SUPPOSED to look like that! I don't know about you guys, but upon rewatching the show again in recent years, I've later come to realize that the animation of this show is paying tribute to both western and eastern animation in its own right. There's this one episode with Tails where everything looks like an old 1930s Mickey Mouse cartoon. There are some other episodes where all the human characters, despite looking 100% anime sometimes move like American cartoons and superheroes. Especially with characters like Chris's Grandpa Chuck, Mr. Tanaka, and Chris's Teacher. Hell, even down to Sonic running is akin to the Coyote in the Loony Tunes. I don't think there is nothing really wrong with Sonic X's animation changing up it's styles every now and then. As I know that the whole concept of Sonic The Hedgehog to begin with is a modern Japanese take on American rubber hose cartoons of the 1930s. He's like Felix The Cat and Astro Boy. This show being created by TMS, who mind you also did Batman: The Animated Series and Animaniacs, proves that they are capable enough on doing both styles of 2D animation. There's a reason why season 3 didn’t air in Japan for 15 years since the show ended in the US. The Japanese show runners knew that what they were creating was an anime aimed specifically for a western audience and it shows. The 4Kids dubbed version proved to be more successful with the US audiences hence airing the whole show. Most of the Sonic fanbase are from North America and since his conception, Sonic is almost entirely American (but created by the Japanese). So no, I still disagree and I still stand highly on my opinion. To me, this what Sonic The Hedgehog should be like on TV animation. Honestly, I don’t think the animation even aged that poorly, for a 2000s anime that is. 4Kids and other Saturday morning blocks at the time aired a bunch of "cartoons" that had the same look, movement, and feel all around. Had the current Sonic movies we have today instead come out back in the mid 2000s when Sonic X was still on, I along with other zoomers in their childhood years would’ve thought that this was just what Sonic The Hedgehog was in general. An anime and rubber hose hybrid cartoon character who's natural habitat was living alongside humans and anthropomorphic animals.

Aw come on. The human characters in Sonic X bring their own special thing to the table. I think the character relationships are very cute in this show. And yes, it clearly was animated on a shoestring budget, but it does have it's beautiful moments.
