I did hear when it came out it was disappointing, but I will temper my expectations and watch it. I am someone who once I start something not only do I need to finish, but also need to watch everything related/in the same fictional universe.
@@DMReactions2 Chase was behind it. But he initially wanted to do a regular movie about the Newark riots. The studio said it had to have Sopranos related stuff in it so they could market it as 'the Sopranos movie'. So he shoehorns in a bunch of references from the show and it just ends up as a very generic mob movie with tacked on cringe fan service. It's neither her nor there. It's like an SNL skit about The Sopranos. It only detracts from the show, it doesn't enhance it. The best thing about the show is the sense of mystery. Half the plots and stories they tell are never resolved (deliberately). The movie kills some of that by revealing the history of these plots but in a lazy and silly way. Some of the ages and timelines don't match up either so you can't even really take it seriously as part of overall story.
