What do you think about the new info surrounding Irazusandō and the sealing of The Soul King? How does this affect what we learned in CFYOW? Was Reiō betrayed, or did he know what was going to happen to him? Let me know your thoughts!
I think, and always believed since I learned about it in CFYOW, that the Soul King purposely allowed himself to be imprisoned, not because he thought his son would one day kill him and get revenge, but rather willing to imprison to give the world and it peoples a chance at peace without fear and suffering that those of the primordial world felt. I also believe that Reio was fundamentally opposed to Yhwach's plans due to what it meant for the worlds, ie damning everyone to suffering and misery, all for a selfish goal of his "son."

Personally, I think the splitting of the worlds was a willing act of the soul king, but that the dismemberment and sealing were betrayals that he allowed to happen. Chances are Ichibe and the noble families likely tampered with the ceremony and process somehow. I don't doubt that splitting the worlds would have led to a very brief period of weakness for the soul king that could have been taken advantage of by them.
The weakening of the soul king due to splitting of the primordial universe is very very impossible because we know that he is a God who came into existence who transended LITERALLY everything. The weakening is not possible.
Yh wouldn't put past kubo redesign ending in cour 4 early or cour 3 and really expand on this origin of reio and yhwach in final episodes of anime. Bringing story to full circle as told in interview sb anime return

That drawing of ichibei holding reio isn't meant to be taken literally. I think it represents the shinigamis literal hold of his fate, malice hidden except for the eyes.

Could be that the Sword/Key Thing was _tampered with_ by the Noble Families or Ichibei, which the Soul King let happen because obviously he could have stopped it regardless.
I always Believed that the Soul King allowed everything to happen. With the All Mighty thr Soul King would have seen everything and likely Scarificed itself to allow it all to happen. Yhwach a character who doesn't understand Self Sacrifice and instead literally sacrifices others for his own gain believes what was done to the Soul King was a crime and vengence is the only answer.

Given the ancestor's vow, odds are Irazusando was possibly designed by the Shiba ancestor. He wanted to relieve the Soul King of his burden, so in his quest he created Irazusando as a filter/testing ground for potential candidates. Perhaps testing it himself was even how he met his end. I wouldn't be shocked to learn that Irazusando is littered by or built upon the bones Shiba kin. Given Ichibei's proclivity towards being a greedy power hungry bastard who'd do anything to maintain his prestige and power, it wouldn't shock me if Irazusando was originally something the Shiba devised secretly but Ichibei caught wind of it and stole its name and purpose for himself with Ichimonji.
I believe Irazusando was made by Ichibe as an in-case measure. It’s honestly highly likely that Ichigo is the first and only person to ever walk it due to this kind of event never happening before
The way the anime show Ichigo's eyes up close and seemingly have the almighty gives me hope that the final battle will be changed a bit and done justice time, especially Ichigo's fight against Ywach. Seriously I feel like Kubo is teasing right now of what's Ichigo's true zanpukto ability

Bleach's history behind the formation and creation of it's component worlds is just as dark and horrifying as shown in the novels and to have you break it down so it's not only easier to piece together but also get a clear implication of the impact it will have on ichigo and the other characters is a real treat for me
The overall Worldbuilding of Bleach could have been fleshed out a bit more, but overall, I love Bleach. There is a reason it's my favorite of the Big 3.

One thing I always wanted to see is Ichibei showing some kind of emotion after Yhwach kills the Soul king. It would be an interesting contrast to his usual pragmatic behavior and go deeper into their relationship
I think that both the anime and CFYOW can both be canon. Using The Almighty to see the future, Reio would see that the noble ancestors would turn on him, and as soon as they did, he sacrificed himself to save them the trouble
What I suspect is that we are being shown fragments of the truth from all sides. In the post itself, Narita was quoted as saying that it's all hearsay so we have a bunch of unreliable narrators. Genuinely, I think Ichigo is more than likely always being kept watch of now after his training has been completed and he's a proper vessel. Ichibe is clearly not meant to be trusted, and even with how powerful the Soul King is, he still let himself be a pawn. Something more is going on that we aren't being told and I hope we get to see those missing pieces.

why is everyone overlooking that Irazusando was specifically in Senjumaru's palace? Not the soul kings, not even Ichibei's. Why her palace specifically? Combined with the fact that Senjumaru in the manga was the least depicted, least talked about, and given the least number of pages/screentime in the manga.... Does Senjumaru have a connection with the soul king thats being teased for later down the line? Something that Kubo knew he wouldnt have time to address in the manga, so gave her less screen time to tackle later down the line? Is she perhaps just as old as Ichibei? Perhaps Reio's wife, or daughter, or grandaughter, something like that? Why was Irazusando SPECIFICALLY in her palace of all places? Why? That cannot be a coincidence

I always felt the captain of squad 0 actually sees himself as the king using the corpse as a scapegoat or just a battery. Any order he gives if he knows will be disliked just say the king decreed it. He does have a sort of evil viser/advisor feel to him. And I like that about him.
Is Ichigo a great candidate because of his roots? After all, he is a Human born from a Humanified Soul Reaper father and a Quincy mother who was embedded with a hollow soul? Was that the catalyst that is needed to be a candidate to become the next soul king or at least a vessel?
So Ichigo is SK's descendant via his mother, a shinigami via his father, a Hollow via Aizen shenanigans and learnt Fullbring via X-cution. It's all one big happy family.
I think we need more context on just how much Shintoism influenced the idea of the Soul King. My theory is that Reio had a real name before, but "Soul King" was the nature and role of the man's mutilated corpse. Thus, he became Soul King and began fulfilling that role. This would make sense if Reio is a kami in the Shinto sense. A being of immense power bound by a name given by others and enshrined to recieve prayers and sacrifices in order to bring prosperity to a place. That's my theory, anyway. I'd love to know the man's original name.
Interesting you seem to think the three whirlpools relate to the three worlds that were split apart by Reio. And that the fourth whirlpool he's standing in isn't a 4th. If I were to guess, I'd say the whirlpool he stands in is Soul Society. And the other three that surround him would be the world of the living, Hueco Mundo...and hell.
According to CFYOW, Hell already existed alongside the primordial world before it split into the three worlds (Material/Soul Society/Hueco Mundo) of Bleach's current setting.
To me Ichibei is the one and only responsible for the Reyo desmembered body, as we see Ichibei is full of pride of his position of being the strongest of all shinigames, not only this he see himself as the venerable one, we see it when he saying to Young Ywhach to not say his names lightly or he will bear the consequencys, the thing is in the primordial world Ichibei is only another one powerfull soul, with the worlds separated and closed in a loop controled by the soulsociety there is no one other than the next soul king to detrone Ichibei

Ichibi has power over black, and im willing to bet he never showed to what extent to the Soul king, when the ceremony begun, he reversed the arrow markings in a way it would kill/inprison the soul king instead while still creating the worlds, and that way the worlds would be made, and the soul reapers would be happy therefore i guess balance. Do i think ichibi is bad? Big maybe, but one thing is for sure i believe he is misleading ichigo.
imagine the soul king was someone like Ichigo and because of he passed the test he became the current soul king. which makes Ichibei Hyosube somone beyond soul king and we know it is not true

I hope one day we get the Soul Kings story as it's own anime. It would be pretty compelling to see this primal world and him becoming it's kind, then being betrayed by those closest to him, all while understanding it was necessary to make the world that Bleach is today.
I think I read somewhere that the reason for splitting the primordial world into several realms was to separate hell and the only way to do that was to split them all. If that’s true then hopefully it gets addressed in the hellverse arc if it ever comes
The one bit about not being allowed to lift your heels off the ground seems outright incorrect, since we see Ichigo lifting his feet entirely to step forward
Something to note is that Reio's wounds seem to have been dressed and healed when we see him in the manga, it doesn't look like he was frozen immediately after he he was ripped apart. To me, it looks like Ichibei might have found Reio's corpse in the crystalized lake dismembered, and broke him out, dressed his wounds and helped him heal before resealing him in crystal aided by the families. As for their roles, it is possible that like how Ichigo got his powers back from a sword made with the Spiritual Pressure of every Captain and Lieutenant in the Seiretti, the sword was formed by the Soul King and the 5 strongest souls he found uaing their Spiritual Pressure to shape the blade, same goes for the arrows. Wether the ritual was intended to dismember the one preforming it or not is I feel the real and most important one.
I would wonder how life was in the original world. If there was a danger of Hollows devouring the majority of souls, would monsters like Fura (the hollow that help Aizen escape soul society with negacion) be common place? The presence of evolved Menos Grande class Hollows after Gillian like Adjuchas and Vasto Lorde, were implied to come after the worlds were formed.

Mr Tommo, what would happen if ichibe took Zaraki's name? Zaraki was born without a name, and reached his first peak in strength without a name. Would that affect his personal ability since he couldn't use nozarashi but could probably use the sword before he named it. i.e. what would happen to Zaraki's name, since he named himself? Would this possibly make him more animalistic like he was before he named himself? If Oetsu knows the location of all zanpakuto he made, does this mean he knew where Ginjo was hiding, or is Ginjo's sword not a zanpakuto?
Answer to who else Ichibei couldve tested: We know the Soul King emerged from the chaos world a perfect hybrid, and thus could do all things and brought order. But he didnt split the world immediately at his conception, whole clans and noble families existed in the chaos that ruled and decided on his demise. But also, he was the "perfect" hybrid, all of his powers complimented eachother elevating him to god like status. Im sure other hybrids had emerged from the void aswell, but not *perfect* ones, and probably with conflicting powers like hollow-quincy or something and they were not really that impressive. Perhaps Ichibei tested some of them, and a reason those hybrids are not around anymore is because they were all disposed of to make the pure worlds, or they simply died of old age since it was like a million years ago and Yamamoto at most was 2-3 thousand years old. Infact... we know Ichibei's abilitys are not really Shinigami in nature, and hes from that time period same as the Soul King a million years ago.. maybe hes mostly Shinigami, but a Hybrid aswell, maybe fullbringer for the black ability, with hints of quincy to be able to gather all of it no matter what kind the way a quincy can gather all reishi undisputably.
Let's say things did actually come to a point where Ichigo did ended up becoming the new Soul King. What of Yhwach if he's somehow still alive at that point? Would he do anything?

Given Ichigo's personality, I would guess he would be very upset that they made the soul king go through what he did. He would feel sorry for him, IMHO. Creating the 3 worlds was very cool TBH.

Was it created at same time or did it already exist? 4th whirlpool in center could represent either primordial or hell which then asks how much influence he had there and if like the soul reaper captains any of his reatsu has had to be sent there since quincy king killed him or did he manage to contain it all and become the new pillar of the worlds

Funny you showed senjumarus bankai right after showing the path and the gate. The phonetics. It's like these scenes depict senjumarus bankai. when looking at the name of urahara and Mayuri bankai it tells a story. Familiar one at that. Izanami and her son Kagatsuchi, dieties in Japanese mythology. Kagatsuchi destroyed her innards and killed her at childbirth. Kurotsuchi bankai mentions divine foot cutting Jiso. Senjumaru only appears to float. Never walk. Until she uses bankai that is. Then she utters "Thump, thump, Kara, Kara, Thump, Karara" Kara translates to rattle. Could she be a Zanpakuto like yachiru? But on an imperial god tier level? Or urahara n mayuris mother? Maybe Mayuri did something and she wove his fate resulting in him being thrown in maggots nest. Lol.
The sheer ambiguity is a reflection of the subsequent twisting of information regarding it. Nothing is known apart from what Ichibei is telling and he for obvious reasons is not going to tell the whole truth. It's also the result a widespread coverup since, involving both the altering or destruction of records/history and even murder. Ironically the one person who probably knew the whole truth was Tokinada since he read the ancient stone tablet that documented the event and it dramatically affected him, verifying his madness. Then he destroyed it and was subsequently killed for his scheme, Yoruichi making it coldly clear that he knew too much.
I wonder if the thing about the soul king knowing it was a betrayal and personal sacrifice if indeed he only did it because of his personality as such a divine being. As in, would the world itself simply have turned into a world where there was calamity and destruction as time went on? Like peace for some and more chaos than peace? You could look at Ichibei as the snake in the court that would know best perhaps that the soul king would see the betrayal but count on his selfless nature to agree to splitting the world would be in line with his personal choice say if he managed to get the whole counsel and so on to rebel and start a huge war of death and slaughter to the original? Creating havoc in which it would cause Reio to intervene and kill them from existence they didn't want to fully be a part of to begin with. Perhaps there is a truth to the above questions and theory about it being part of Reio's personality of being selfless with his foresight and knowing he was at that time the only one capable of doing what it was the majority wanted despite it being against his own idea? Though, the effect of it, created more long lasting "peace" between transitions that not at the time of its conception among all areas but as time went on and more souls were born to traverse the paths, perhaps this is when the temporary peace began to unfold as a punishment for that original sin of betrayal. In fact showing that the peace they sought was more of a power to control and undermine the freewill choice of all things that existed there are the time of the primordial and after. I mean, for the most part, the whole idea of the soul society is to first and foremost protect itself and its own interests over the mortal and hueco mundo worlds. So, to me it looks as though, it is a punishment as well as a boon they were granted but of course the Soul King's attitude made it to where he won't directly interfere. To think about it, Ichibei with his abilities is basically playing the role of soul king without being the one holding it together. I'd say even his abilities were stolen from the soul's king's power and just about everything we are told from him is a lie or is twisted to put forth the idea that its the soul king this and that whereas it is seemingly more and more Ichibei's will over the Soul King's.
Of course he knew he was going to be dismembered. He's omniscient. The Almighty with 2 pupils sees things in the 4th Dimention which is Time. That alone makes him know of everything that will ever happen to himself. 3 pupils allow him to see into the multiverse of alternate outcomes and make that reality his own. Chances are he manipulated events in such a way that being dismembered was required for future Shinigami to defeat his son Yhwach. That way he wouldn't be forced to kill his own beloved child nor would Yhwach succeed in collapsing the separate dimentions and causing the apocalypse.
@@User5hdbh Presumably 4 pupils would allow him to see and interact with the 6th Dimention which in this context would be the various universal laws governing reality. He would be able to see and into realites with fundamentally different laws of thermodynamics, gravity, vibrations, conservation of energy... shit like that. Dimensions like Hueco Mundo and the Soul Society exist because the Soul King is perpetually willing them into existence. If he dies they risk immediately collapsing. It cannot be stressed enough that the Soul King is straight up God by most conventional definitions.
Alright, just venting here, I love that Bleach has a deep and genuinely mystifying lore to it, but it is kinda annoying that we get almost no concrete answers to any of them after so long. Don’t get me wrong, I love the guessing game and fan theories, but at the end of the day there’s only one definitive source for actual canon answers and that’s Kubo. I wish he would sit down and write out a whole encyclopedia detailing Bleach’s history so we could put things to rest. More so, the more it drags on the likelier it becomes that this all could be a J. J. Abrams mystery box situation where there actually weren’t ever any real answers and _the mystery itself_ is the story’s McGuffin
The answer to how that could happen to him is He let them. He can see everything. All the event of the future. A being like that saw that the SS doing that is the better way. What if the explanation of the soul king imprisonment is true but depending on the version of the flashback ichibei showed Ichigo, thus making what YHWACH saw the true version of the story? In that sense the info is correct but wrong at the same time
There some interesting visual themes I want to bring up. The Black and White feathers of the three Arrows and Ichibei's Black Silhouette holding Reio Amongst a completely white background. I think there might be a reason Ichibei also has complete dominion over the color Black throughout all of time in the Bleach verse. His sinister personality and Dark motives may be pointing towards a more... I don't know... like Ichibei is a fundamental force of nature in the world of Bleach. I'm not entirely sure this would be relevant but to anybody who's played the Kingdom hearts series fully knows a character named Vanitas. Vanitas, despite any physical characteristics, makes a point at the very end of the entire story to state that: "What I am, is Darkness." and "I've been around since long before I was inside you." (referring to one of the main protagonists who just so happens to be a fundamental light in that games lore). Dark morals, Dark motives, complete control over "Black"... Also the huge imagery of the "best" soul reapers wearing White over Black. Ichibei could be a personification of the worlds Darkness in some fundamental way. Maybe Ichibei is supposed to be Death? He is the peak Soul Reaper. It's a lot to unpack, but I think most of us agree that Ichibei has more going on, even prior to the "first sin" of the soul society. He could just be another man posturing as death and selfishly making his ideals, and himself, a permanent part of the world by doing whatever he and the ancestors of the noble families did to Reio
Theory: Yhwach is the part of the Soul King that remained behind after Ichibei used ichimoji on him. Yhwach was a "baby" covered in black. He could not do anything. He took the name that the people called him, Yhwach.
I would love to see a video over the valley of screams. I'd love a good explanation over what it is and how the fullbringers interact with it in the manga. I'd also love to hear it's differences between the memories of nobody and the manga.
Cfyow is cannon but not completely. Kubo didn't write the whole thing. Kubo only gave key informations and some scenes to the author. We can't take it 100%. Have to be opened that it's not all true.
Well, Reio being betrayed AND knowing about it beforehand tracks with the death of Jesus by the doing of Judas (which we know by now to have been accorded between them beforehand).
I still believe that The Soul King knew what would happen to him and chose to do it so others could become stronger. Maybe the Ancestors made the ritual and even thou he told them he knows what will happen to him and they shouldn’t feel bad for it, they still felt like they betrayed him and after who knows how long has passed the context has been lost and those that know the original sin misunderstand what has been recorded. As for Ichibei, maybe he’s like Yhwach and is a son of the Soul King, so he doesn’t have the full context. I have a theory that Yhwach is a Soul King fragment of his power/soul and that fragment is the Soul King’s fear. I came up with this theory since Yhwach seems to know nothing about the primordial world other than the concept of death didn’t exist, and that an actual child of Soul King should have all the powers of the Soul King not just one.
Maybe Reio just didn't want to believe his "friends" would betray him, and trusted them more than his own visions. I mean, Yuha himself didn't believe in his own visions and though his death was a dream sent by Jugram.
It’d be interesting if Ichibe and the five founders assumed they did a great sin via betrayal only to learn that the Soul King allowed the sin to happen. Splitting the world is a great alternative to risking the original world self destructing due to the annihilation of hollows.
Could those images be what could happen to Ichigo should the king die? It's what I thought when I watched it cause I don't know the manga but I have watched the anime a dozen times or so.
What if the part about the water is not a lie, but we got to see the scenes in the wrong order? Like, the part of ichibe holding the soul king is still correct, but a bit later in the time-line he placed the soul king into the water that crystalized him? That way, ichibe can either try to heal him or whatever he is going to do before making him into the linchpin captured in crystal that we know today.
Bro there can be a whole lot of bleach to come, I mean there is so much more to be explored in this universe. We can learn about the story which possibly tells all about the soul King and how it relates to Ichigo and reveal who the true villain was and the true cause for the very strongest creature in existence to have to sacrifice himself to possibly stop him and therefore have this stability which came after. Ignore the novels ignore the manga, the anime is the new canon and things happening in it should be the ones taken into consideration regardless if they go againts previous information and events. Maybe at the time of the novels creation Kubo had an ideia about the SK but it´s been years since then and wants it to be changed, wtv the reason is the anime is our only true guideline now
Both light novels"Spirits Are Forever With You and Can't Fear Your Own World"have postscripts that confirm their canonicity. In SAFWY, Kubo supervised what Narita wrote and was highly involved in it's creation. In CFYOW, Kubo co writes with Narita.
@@kanoreese1253 Sure but Kubo also greenlighted the anime and explicitly talked a lot of his involvement and making changes in it. It's just that people seem to thing that the anime is somewhat less legitimate/cannon than the manga or the light novels. If the LN say something and the anime shows otherwise, than maybe the point isn't that one or the other is wrong, the point is that there are multiple versions of this secret story that is purposefully kept hidden from most Shinigami.
My personal theory as to how the creation of the world & death of the soul king played out goes as follows (this is just the short version btw, I've got an entire episode length script for this idea): One day the being later known as the soul king burst into existence. His power, later known as spiritual pressure, was able to subdue ancient hollows & beings from the primordial hell. Ichibei & 4 well-known and fairly powerful souls began to follow this being around, some b/c of reverence and others from fear. One night, the 4 souls (that later became the noble family ancestors) had a secret meeting where they discussed the use of the soul king's powers to help bring stability to the world, after reaching a decision they met with Ichibei who likely concluded that they were right, the world needed stability. Ichibei later told the soul king of this idea he & the others had. The soul king agreed to it but, before the ceremony began, he saw into the future to witness his fate and concluded that the 4 souls were the ones behind it. In spite of his certain death, he agreed, the world needed stability and plunged the ceremonial blade into the crux of the world (the pool of water he was standing in, in the flashback). A second before he did so, his final words were, "Ichibei, I forgive you". By plunging the blade into the water, the soul king had spread a portion of his power throughout the universe w/ the nearest souls (Ichibei & the 4 ancestors) gaining more power than others. Ichibei then took the severed limbs & body of the soul king and sealed them using ancient & powerful kido, thus creating a cornerstone to help stabilize the newly formed worlds & "artifacts" that he could monitor so they wouldn't fall into anyone's hands
