THE SOUL: Understanding What Makes Us Human - Life after Death, Afterlife, Out of Body & Near Death Experience, What Happens With the Soul After Death? with Rabbi Michael Skobac
This video is dedicated in loving memory of Shannie Skobac z"l.
Do people have souls? Do their souls survive and continue to exist after they die?
In this lecture Rabbi Michael Skobac explores these vital questions by exploring scientific research into Near Death Experiences as well as ancient Rabbinic writings about what happens when someone dies. The relationship between body and soul is analyzed in the context of the general question about the ultimate purpose of our existence.

JEWS FOR JUDAISM is an outreach organization whose primary goal is to win back to Judaism those Jews who have been influenced by the following six threats to Jewish survival that are devastating the global Jewish community.
1. Hebrew-Christian missionaries convert thousands of Jews worldwide every year
2. Destructive cults cause many Jews to abandon family, friends and careers
3. Eastern religions, Buddhism and Hinduism are spiritual choices for many Jews
4. Apathy and ignorance leave many Jews unaware, unaffiliated and assimilated
5. Intermarriage is exploding with a 75% rate in some North American cities
6. Anti-Israel BDS on campus inhibits Jewish students from standing up for Israel and Judaism
To assist non-Jews who have left other religions, JEWS FOR JUDAISM also provides educational programs to help them embrace the Torah’s Seven Noachide Laws for Gentiles.
We achieve our goals through our worldwide Internet outreach, Social Media, free educational programs, educational literature and counseling services that connect Jewish people to the spiritual depth, beauty and wisdom of Judaism.
“I am so grateful to have discovered the wonderful Jews for Judaism RU-vid lectures by Rabbi Skobac. I am a Jew who converted to Christianity in college, but now, thanks to your online outreach, I have returned to Judaism. Thank you.” - Rebecca G.
In a nutshell, Jews for Judaism saves Jewish lives and keeps Jews Jewish.
PLEASE SUPPORT JEWS FOR JUDAISM’S LIFE-SAVING WORK!
Your help is very much needed and greatly appreciated.
Jews for Judaism never charges for its programs, books and counseling services… ever.

I lost my both my parents a few years ago. Mom was a month from 90 and dad was almost 92. My family is atheist The energy that was my parents still exists, their bodies and energies were recycled to the earth. "Thunder" by imagine dragons describes it best They were the lightning, we generations that follow are their thunder. I always love to hear your perspective Rabbi. Even when i don't agree alternate perspectives have value.

The way this topic was addressed is astonishing, having had a n.d.e myself in 2015. G'd is wonderful. I must admit you Jews are truly "a nation of priests/teachers". The world should be willing to learn from your ancient wisdom and not be envious. Shalom *

Lovely, just lovely; and extremely important. As always, Rabbi Skobac delivers the "goods" worth listening to. Thank you. Still, some questions remain unanswered here. They are: 1. If our Soul never dies, why does the Bible say that the "wages of sin is death"? Since everybody dies physically regardless of their level of spiritual development, what is the point of mentioning it at all, unless it does have something to do with the Soul (Spirit) AS WELL? Is the SOUL and the SPIRIT one and the same? 2. If the goal is to know G-d (greatest pleasure), does that mean that those who do not make an effort to "grow" spiritually, never get to know G-d? And where does one's eagerness to know G-d (or lack thereof) come from; is it solely a result of one's FREE WILL? 3. Is our Soul, which did not manage to grow to its full potential (for whatever reason), in "Hell", or a place of existence without the knowledge of G-d? In other words, do we get only ONE opportunity to "get it right", or is there such a thing as "serial re-incarnation" of the Soul until IT gets to its full potential? It would be terrific to "see" an INTEGRATED VIEW in one single presentation. If anybody can do it, Rabbi Skobac can, and I would love to hear it. Most kind regards

As usual another enlightening lecture but this is special because the concept is not explained plainly in bible I suppose.

Condolences on the loss of your Mother. I found this message to be rather disturbing...there are many many scriptures saying the dead know nothing and Isaiah 26:14 says the departed spirits do not rise. I thought it's only Christians who believe the dead are looking down on us. If that was true how could they be happy seeing how depraved the world has become, and perhaps witnessing atrocities performed against their loved ones still on earth. I find this message absolutely contrary to the words in the Tanakh. Yet, these near death experiences are also confusing. How can they be when they are opposite from the Tanakh? So many of them and so similar. I am so confused.

The above lecture differentiates between soul and body. But what is spirit ? whether spirit is soul or another separate entity
