@@PurushaDesa Newman's soundtracks are crap, Zimmer just Zimmerized the music, as he usually does. I'm not a fan of his work altogether and I don't think he's the perfect fit for Bond.

@@k.b.7718 In contrast to that reaction, I loved the No Time to Die score. I loved the sweeping orchestral versions of Billie Eilish’s song. I loved the bombast of the opening car chase music. The Cuban music was tremendous fun. And of course that beautiful “Final Ascent” cue is something I would love to hear played live.

Quite a few years ago now there was a doc on British tv that just looked at rejected Bond songs. It was very interesting.

I saw something the other day that metioned a section of this doc does indeed cover the rejected songs, but I don't know how long that'll be or if they interviewed those artists. Fingers crossed, it's more than a passing mention.

I thought Blondie's version of FYEO was way better than the bland, forgettable Sheena Easton song they ended up using. From what I remember reading, the producers were happy with the Blondie version, but only wanted Debbie Harry to sing, not the rest of the band, so negotiations fell apart. Shame, cause after Shirley Bassey's unused Thunderball theme (though they ended up using an instrumental arrangement of it in the movie I think) it's definitely my favourite "Bond theme that almost was". Also love Johnny Cash's proposal for Thunderball and Alice Cooper's version of TMWTGG, though I do think they made the right choice to go with Tom Jones and Lulu in the end, their versions were much more Bondesque.

@@oliverholmes-gunning5372 My favorite rejected Bond theme is Radiohead's Spectre. Have you heard it? It would have been one of the best Bond themes compared to Sam Smith's Writings on the Walls.

@@daveteves yeah, I've heard it; I once made a CD compilation of every rejected Bond theme from 1965 to 2015 lol. I liked the Radiohead song itself, though I'm not sure how appropriate it would have been for a Bond theme. Like Billie Eilish, Radiohead are talented artists but kind of dark and depressing lol, not really what you'd associate with the sort of sexy, upbeat bombastic brass tones of a classic Bond theme. Anything would have been better than that fucking dreadful Sam Smith song, though- worst Bond theme in history imo. Btw have you heard Lorraine Chandler's rejected theme for You Only Live Twice? Absolutely banging northern soul track; I quite like the Nancy Sinatra version they ended up using, but it's a shame this one was dropped completely- they could have used it as the secondary theme, like they did with Shirley Bassey's Mr Kiss Kiss Bang Bang in Thunderball or KD Lang's Surrender in Tomorrow Never Dies.

u can listen to any of those and get a rise in spirit almost immediately. classics. and the amazing crescendo they all feature.

Billie eilish has written the most haunting bond song ever, it fits the storyline of the film perfectly, it gives me goosebumps every time I hear it, I absolutely love it
