This may be one of the best drum sound recreations yet, the kit sounds exactly like the recording. Pascal's ability to play really complicated drum parts perfectly and with such ease is incredible. Can't wait to see what else is in store for ArtOfDrumming!!
Just wow. What must it feel like to play that stuff as well as you do - i can only imagine! I'd love to see an interview on your personal highs and lows of recreating what you've done so far. Not so much about the techie stuff but how it felt to step into some of the shoes of the greats you've covered.
Just clicked on another video and noticed this while it was switching screens... Immediately forgot about what I was doing to come watch this. Incredible! Obviously Pascal nails it... that's a given. But I'm especially impressed by how smoothly he replicates Gavin's flams.
Damn man, incredible work. Gavin is a frankly near-peerless specialist in his field, and you've got so much of his performance right. The dynamics, evenness, control, just fabulous.
Die Schwierigkeit für viele bei dem Stück ist es die verschiedenen Time Signatures einerseits technisch sauber zu spielen und den Groove trotzdem locker und entspannt zu halten. Pascal. Mega. 2 Daumen hoch! 🙂
Should have made the Sound of Muzak at the drums festival, the one where Simon Philips introduced Gavin. Way more technical and musical than the original version imo. Great cover overall.
Another amazing video. I can't wait for the full video. Also I can't to see a video on Deftones drum sound. Along with the other drummers that I recconmended to you, I also would love to see the recreation of The Fray's song How to Save a Life.
There are few people in the world, or maybe I am completely wrong, who have the stones to do covers on a guy like Gavin Harrison. IMO he is one of the finest living drummers with Vinnie, Keith Carlock, Mike Mangini, Portnoy, Danny Carey and technicians like Thomas Lang. This cover is astonishing, and captures the magic that Gavin shares in his playing. I can't imagine how long it took to memorize this and all the orchestrations entailed. Nice job copying the Gavin setup as well. There are just so many astonishing drummers in this youtube world!
