Indian take-away, beer and blisters...excellent! After a grueling hike in wet conditions, I'm sure the small cabin was a welcome gift. 100 miles is no joke bro, lots of things can go wrong or right and many considerations moving forward. Take care of those blisters, thanks for this leg of the journey. See ya for the next one.
Thanks Terry. It sure was, I was wet and cold once I stopped. It would have been a pain to then pitch my tent and cook. Falling into a bed was a blessing.
Hello, met you two near Eastbourne last week my name is James loving the vlogs, I know exactly how you feel been there, next time bring compeed as soon as you get a blister hotspot apply, you probably know this but it works a treat for me, hope you enjoyed your beer at the beachy head pub, onwards and upwards keep walking all the best James👍
Hey James, it was good to meet you! my brother in law recommended nipple cream for blisters.. not sure if it was a wind up! it was a glorious (couple) pint in the pub ; )
Thank you! Glad you're enjoying it. This was a challenging day, but started to make progress which was gratifying. Next part will be up either Friday or Saturday. Atb Dan
Thanks mate 👍 It really was a moral booster. Set me up for another day! Felt like we'd made progress when we hit 25 miles. 🙂 Part 3 will be up in a few days.. probably Friday. Atb Dan
Great video and a great team. Real tough time but you did it and what a welcome relief that cabin, take away & beer was. Good how you keep each other's moral up. Looking forward to the third chapter.👏👏
Filing toe nail with a stone set my teeth on edge but very sensible. A good mix of facts and humour. Good thinking to plan the miles in between pit stops, kept your peckers up. Well done both of you. You can do anything if you really want to ❤ Ps. Cabin was a God send plus takeaway. Well earned
Thanks Annie, I'm pleased you're enjoying it : ) That Cabin was a saviour, I was struggling to be honest at the end of day 2.. probably the lowest morale of the trip.
Absolutely loved this episode Dan. I remember hiking up Beacon Hill and finding it a total slog. It’s far steeper than we can show on camera! Was so pleased for you both to get the cabin AND Indian AND beers! Reminds me of when I got to Foxleigh Barn at 50 miles and ordered the same thing 👌🍺
Mate I was so cold and hungry once I stopped. The cabin was a lifesaver. I was soaked through (left it far too long to put wets on) but warm enough walking. As soon as I stopped I got cold fast. I could imagine pitching a tent and then cooking dinner. The curry was perfect.
Dan @CampLifeBushcraft, bloody good effort mate ! That looked pretty gruelling but good ground covered (especially Butser and QE Park) and a well deserved reward buddy 👍
Bloody good effort Mr Dan, and good to see your apprentice camera man was well up for the trip, ' Well done Warren''. Will be going straight in to day 3, after I've got a glass of wine👍 Another good video mate, Regards Moose
G'day Dan, Warren, even with the good kit, you likely end up wet over that period of time ....... yep, .... minor detail Warren ; ) Good to hear Muddy Paws and Wild Camper,...... you know, ... your "mates" .... are so "supportive" ...... I wouldn't expect anything less ; ) I'd say the sheep turned out to be a blessing in disguise, ....... a lamb curry, pehraps an Indian Pale Ale, by chance ; ) Anyway, .... and seriously, "Keep your pecker up" fellas !!!!!!! Cheers Duke
hey bud, yeah I suspect Jon knew it was raining and timed his message just right.. all be it disguised as sarcasm it was nice to hear from them both. I really struggled near the end of the day and without the cabin I may have toyed with jacking it in. it got easier after the 2nd day.. I think my body started to get used to what it was doing more.
G'day Annie, cant say I "like" to wear 'em, though probably the first thing I'd pack for a hike of this nature. Mind you, you're still gonna cop it up to knee height in my experience. Cheers Duke.
