if you are Maus you can one shot this thing from the front with Pzgr 43, shoot the driver optics right below the gun. If the shell doesn´t pen (which it should) the overpressure will kill all the crew :D All this provided the Obj didn't already kill you with its stabilizer lol

Without watching yet I believe he might be talking about the br changes have made this thing not face certain vehicles. Essentially a buff to many vehicles that rely on armour
So since this Obj 279 was made to take a Nuclear attack then if the enemy drops a nuke and you are in the Obj 279 you won't be counted as DEAD 🤔................😋

Using a conquerer with 530+ mm of pen and this guy just bounced, shattered or absorbed all my shots, this really just showed that war thunder is just open about their Russian bias now

Lol I killed one of these things frontally with a Gepard. I wasn’t even using the APDS belt either, I was just using the normal belt. I still have no idea how that happened.
i pend a t72( the prem ) with that AA from the usa tec tree with proxy rounds and killed it from the front😂 i have also pened a t80 with a 50cal and killed the driver as well like tf 😂

funnily enough I dont have an issue with these things playing 8.7 china, most people ive come up against with em have just held w thinking theyre invincible, but the HEAT and APFSDS the 8.7 chinese tanks can pretty handily take care of these.

I’ve been playing the cheiftain a lot and honestly it’s quite a good counter to the 279 because it’s armour is so good against APHE, still worse but a fun fight
I have the 279, and when it fist came out, holy shit was I dominating. After a while, it got a few indirect nerfs with the addition of more stabilized APFSDS and HEATFS slingers, not to mention people with thermals at its BR, it felt mediocre at times. If you got full up-tiered, you were fucked. Now, with it's pen buffed, and its worst nemesis brought up in BR, it dominated like no other. The other match, I was bouncing APFSDS and APDS left and right while I was one shotting everything! With this update, I am just getting double ace games often, its bonkers lmao.
The 279 was my first crafting event and I completed it without spending any cash. However, gaijin refused to reward me what I needed for the black camo. Sucked
How so? For the skin you just needed to play the space fight event around that spacestation. It was not really difficult or time consuming as the current events are. It was quite easy to get the skin.
@@jasoncrawford4929 still don't understand what you mean. You needed to play the space event and you got paint dropped for any number of minutes in the battle. It was not too hard to get it. With enough motivation you were able to get more than one. The skin as completed skin only dropped rarely you needed to assemble it... I kinda regretted that later that I did not get the AU-1 black cammo. However, since they returned in those ever so often boxes you could buy them on the marked for less than 5 GJN, so I got the black AU-1 years later. You should have gotten it then. Even the obj. black skin was going cheap then.
I've been seeing 279s almost every single game (sometimes multiple at a time) ever since this update. I thought this tank was incredibly expensive and rare or something, where did they all come from and how tf do I kill it?
So it is rare, but for a long time its been really fucking unpleasant to play because it lretry much lived in a full 9.7 uptier. Playing it now my average games are in the 9.0-9.3 range wich when combined with the Bar changes makes it enjoyable again. Its not as strong as it was back when it was 8.3. Its a very difficult tank to balance
One thing to note is that the armor shouldn't be able to bounce dm23/33, but it does. And it does it incredibly consistently. Ive been grinding out 9.0 italy and just today i saw like 8 of these. Using dm23 i was only able to pen one a single time. And thats not to say i dont know where the weak spots are, this thing just evaporates them.
skill issue. This thing can only tank with its turret. It's really strong. But its hull is cardboard against any HEAT or APFSDS. All you need to do is just shoot at his center of mass and 8/10 times it will be a one shot.
@@1222dss I'm ranked in the top 25k for realistic so while I'm not incredibly good I know what I'm doing. The armor is just broken and bounces things it shouldn't be able to on a regular basis. If you don't wanna believe and keep huffing copium go for it.
@@sushiman3817 it does not bounce anything if you place your shot in his center of mass. Sometimes "gaijined" happens but this happens all the time regardless of the tank. I mean. If you can't penetrate 200-300mm of armour with darts or heat it's skill issue.
@@1222dss I can gather the clips I have assuming Nvidia didn't delete the temp files if you want. It isn't skill issue to watch the rounds plink off center mass shots multiple times. It's bad game design. Quit sucking snail dick and just admit that something that everyone else, even the best of the best, see as broken is broken. I miss when the black camos had a unique effect on decals, where they would basically turn everything into a gray silhouette. Looked so good with the fire decals.

I find it to play vs 279 easy, like all you do is lode heat even with 320 heat i find it not to hard to kill it but anything more then 320 i find its easy to fight vs 279 now the thing is that 95% only knows how to play 5.7 BR so i would say the tank is only as good as bad people are,now not saying its bad its is realy good but all you nead to know is how to shut more then 1 type of shells and your fine Odgovori
The amount of times a 279 came around a corner thinking they're invincible just for them to get ammo racked by a TOW missile through the upper front plate from my Bradley is more than once.
As an xbox player no hate please just enjoy the game on a different platform. But I’m more than stoked that I did the grind for this vehicle has been an amazing combo with the Shaturm. Also love the content keep it up 👍🏻

The chieftain you killed probably didn't have headphones on, you barely have any situational awareness without them. Ask me how I know. (My k/d is significantly worse without them)
I kick myself in the @SS for this one cause I randomly decided to come back from not playing WT for a little bit and caught the very last minutes of this vehicle event. But hey at least I got the IS7 for that one.
