It's a 2x72 variable speed Vashti grinder. Honestly, I'm not a pro at all when it comes to grinder...I got this one used (but almost new) for a steal on Marketplace. 300$. If I had to buy a new one, I would probably check the ones from Alec Steele. alecsteeleshop.com/collections/grinders

Welding, using certain bits, and other machinery tool are extremely tough and hard to get especially when making props like the spear of destiny and other ones. Can’t wait until you make the batarang from Arkham games. It’s going to be amazing. To make it snap and lock into place I recommend taking a look at spring quick release lock pin ann not see how those are set up and built to give you an example how the batarang stays in place when in and not in use. What also be fun is the ooze canister from TMNT and have it glow and something from original Ghostbusters and afterlife movies.

@@mjsimunovich013 Thanks man! For the welding part, that's the skill I don't have yet. (I would probably set my house on fire 🤣) For the Ooze canister, I should make version 2.0 eventually. There's so mamny things I would make differently. Cheers!

@@DaBuild you’re welcome. Yeah welding is definitely a tricky skill to learn but what’s you get the hang of it, it becomes easy. Plus there’s now welding machines that require no gas. As long as you have the proper setup (outside with welding curtains so no one can go blind) you won’t burn your house down. I think new version like the 1990 movie would like really cool. @@DaBuild yeah, my grandfather taught me that "most of these real artifacts spend there years in dirt, soil and stone, so thats why i always use dirt, soil and stone to reproduce age" and its worked great for me, the acidic soil i use gives the metal that distinct smell of oldness

@@DaBuild reason i do it is because of something my grandfather said "the difference between replica and reproduction isnt the appearance, its the fine details and subtly in detail right down to things you dont think about" he was strict with teaching me to reproduce items, and would destory anything i made that wasnt good enough, but to be fair, i now look at every detail carefully, even down to things such as how the patina of metals forms where a sword handle meets the blade, its way more time consuming and limits how much i can do a year, but as a result i loan my local museum some of my works as replacements while the real items get maintenance to preserve them edit: plus having ocd helps, that obsessive need for perfection is why i only make 2 or 3 things a year with the acidic soil, i mostly use that just to give that "just dug up" smell, kind of like a petrichor smell, its satisfying for no reason other than its just there

Hey there! It s basically on a portable metal band saw on a stand. So you have to buy the saw and some of them have a stand you can buy to go alone. Pretty useful. Mine is a cheap one with not much clearance. 2 inches. It does the trick for small stuff but that's it. Perfect for prop making. Cheers!
