My grandad was the boatman in Mayo . That if he wasn’t the lonesome boatman, who feels the sea and birds, or feels a farm. Huh. You need to change this song into something warm and not an absolute twat song. Sorry
@@balazsgrubanovits9598 This version has special meaning in the UK for people over fifty, due to being young in Margaret Thatcher’s time as Prime Minister in the eighties. A few yuppies got rich but for other people their livelihood was ravaged when she butchered the coal, steel, ship building and printing industries, bringing mass unemployment and riots. Billy Bragg also did a version in this era and U2 did a live version; thus around about 20 years later the song had taken on a whole new lease of life as an ironic protest, and The Specials got it all going. I’m sure that Rage would approve and I don’t dislike their version either. 😀
I think I’m amazing, but so did the people who wrote this song and it’s shit 🤣. Although I love the specials . Maybe they need a bit of uncirn n hedgehog n bible. Dunno. I’d love to say, no. This is a better be version,,with mermaids and mid jackets…a little bit warmer…like the tide…and seagulls…
Well I’m glad your back lol. I’m just in the garden by myself like a freak doing an invisible tin whistle to the lonesome boatman by the furies , …and the birds are whistling along . I fell on you.
I dont know any Dylan covers that aren't.... Hendrix- All along the watchtower; Bryan Ferry - A hard Rain; Johnny Cash - It aint me Babe; Byrds - Mr Tambourine Man.
