Wow that was pretty nasty yawg. I don't know about anyone else but I like the new layout and opening for the commanders and what a key card for the deck is.
You should not pick favorites, but you are my favorite Elliot :) I gotta say I really enjoy that with the last few seasons you expanded to play more than just cEDH. It's a nice change of pace.
For anyone doing the math, Bill would need at least 80 cards in deck in order to not deck himself with this combo. (Assuming he has no other plays from cards he will draw this turn). (Geralf's Messanger triggers 1 time per 2 card draws for 2 damage, so need cards in deck equal to opponent's remaining life total added together rounding up by 2). Funnily enough, if Elliot hadn't hit Beacon of Tomorrow's then Bill wouldn't be able to win this way without decking (as 16 additional cards aren't going to be in the deck)
Glad to hear it! (heh) We're using a pair of brand new microphones, so you might even hear things get a little better than this as we get better at mixing stereo audio.
If you want to see it in action I also played it in S1E3: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DqhPQy14n5w.html One day I'm hoping we get to see a really good showing from it, though. The deck is so unbelievably complicated and it feels awesome when it goes off.
I've been experimenting with Lich builds too! I like to play Horizon Chimera with Lich's Mastery to draw all of the cards. And I use Skirge Familiar and Faith of the Devoted as the primary win con
I love Skirge Familiar. My favourite thing in this version is to use Tainted Sigil and Aetherflux Reservoir. If you activate Reservoir to kill someone, then activate Tainted Sigil, you gain back 100 life because it looks at how much ALL players lost. It's a neat non-infinite way to use the reservoir and is perfect for killing 3 opponents!
This is my first time on this channel. The video is great, the table talk is really good, and this was very enjoyable overall. My only criticism is that the cameras seem out of focus, especially the overhead camera. I find it very hard to make out the cards (and it woudl have been impossible to follow without the overlay).
WOOOOO SASKIA! REPRESENT MY WAIFU! Edit: Also a bit of an unfortunate rules thing: Rhythm of the Wild and Wild Pair are a bit of a nonbo in this deck. Because Rhythm means the card ENTERS WITH +1/+1 or haste, and Wild Pair triggers when a creature ENTERS the battlefield, when you give it a counter it is searching for a 9-stat minion instead of a 7 stat one. You have to give the first one haste to resolve the search the way the deck is intended.
I got to show it off a little more in S1E3 if you want to see a little bit of what it does: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DqhPQy14n5w.html
Glad to hear it! Eliot and I have been brainstorming ways to bump the production up to the next level, so you might see a few more things change over the course of this season. - Jim
I’m pretty sure you only need one undying creature to start the combo. You sacrifice the creatures as part of the cost, it returns with the counter, you target it to put a -1/-1 counter on it. Rinse and repeat.
Do you have a link for that Karn art? Started looking because it sounded really cool and I also love the card, but I couldn't find anything besides the default HD art.
Hey, I've done a ton of renovation work with my dad back in the day. He was a contractor and had his own business. I mostly handled painting & sanding but ive also had to put up drywall and put down flooring too. If you guys need an extra pair of hands, I'd help you fellas out. I could bring my far more casual EDH decks and get stomped. I dont have any of the crazy turn 1 ramp such as: the moxen; mana-crypt,mana vault or grim manamith. But hey, I could pull off a flash-hulk combo or attempt an alpha-strike (haha) I could bring my Krennko or Brago decks (which are semi competitive 👍) and at least last until turn three when one of you combo-off. lol. That would make it worth it to me! You guys live in Winnebago right? That's only an hour and some change drive away.
Hey, love the channel! A little thing I noticed while watching this is that Bill and Elliot were both in the right audio channel while Alex and Jim were in the left channel. Setting up the mics such that the players on the right are in the right channel and those on the left are in the left channel would improve the production value a little bit for headphone users.
In future eps I think we are going to remix to mono. It was a neat experiment but the inactive mic is picking up room noise and I am not super impressed with how it turned out. Going to continue to tweak, though! This is our first foray into stereo audio.
Just played Yawgmoth in my second multiplayer EDH and it cleaned up on turn 5 with Nest of Scarabs and Blood Artist when a 19 power Managorger was waiting for gobbling up. Yawgmoth is just gross
It'll happen one day! It's a much slower deck than the other three at the table, though, so maybe we should just be playing it into pods that have a little more interaction going on.
Holy crap, an Alex! Just wondering, as a Winnipeg local commander player, are we going to be seeing more random winnipegers over time, or no? Very much asking cause I wanna see who all I end up recognizing.
It's possible. We've had Alex on the shortlist for awhile to fill in for when we can't get 4 of us in a room together but we still need to film. We've also had Paul Zlobicki and Jon Zaczek on the show before. The most likely way you'll see non-feeders on the show is when we start streaming games with Patrons over on Twitch. If our Winnipeg patrons want to get in on the action but don't have the proper streaming apparatus we can probably arrange to have them come to the studio in person to join in.
@@TheSpikeFeeders I didn't even know Paul still played magic. Not sure if I've ever met Jon, but I mostly only ever go to pre-releases anymore. Also, definatly will check out your twitch sometime. PS: do they still host competitive and non-competition pods at a muse? Only ask cause I haven't been there in a long time.
It’s nearly been a year since this episode came out and I wanted to say that I just bought some much and I got 30 warrior tokens signed by bill and an enamel coin and I got them because I’m a fan of the show and I’m a najeela player myself because of bill. On the flip side it makes me sad that there’s no Eliot signed merch as I’m a big fan of both Bill and Eliot thanks for the content
Didn't bill win at like 11 minutes in with yawgmoth the skeleton and the thing that when a creature he gains for life because he could sac the skeleton pay 1 life the skeleton would come back with a +1 +1 counter he puts the -1 -1 counter on it to cancel out the other counter then he just gains that life back
As Dinesh mentioned, there's quite a few. I've seen people do toolbox Slivers with Sliver Overlord, toolbox legendary creatures with Sisay, Weatherlight Captain, and a few others. Most of them use their commander as the way to grab the pieces they need, so look for effects in the command zone that let you search your library!
The Spike Feeders wow that’s so crazy! I love this channel and when I heard Eliot say “and cause he lives in Winnipeg” I had to rewind it to listen again and make sure I wasn’t crazy
Update: found the layers of Karns Temporal. For anyone interested, here's the link. imgur.com/gallery/0kk8xcc Is anyone able to find a link to the layers of Karns Temporal Sundering? Sounds awesome, would love to see it but failed to find it under a quick web search 😅
@@TheSpikeFeeders Overhead primarily, but the face cam is very blurry at the start. I know obviously there's going to be major differences between channels(especially depending on what cameras you guys are using) and also since they have their camera punched in more than you, but here's a screenshot comparison of a recent LRR stream and this video: imgur.com/a/C2dpKcx I tried to get a good screenshot of the face cam as well but it's difficult to distinguish the blurriness vs motion blur in just a screenshot of that
After a bit of troubleshooting it looks like the issue might be with the wide angle lenses that came with the new cameras we bought. We already have about half the season filmed this way but hopefully we can get this fixed up before our next recording session. Thanks for letting me know!
@@TheSpikeFeeders No worries, video is definitely still watchable especially thanks to the card overlay in the center, glad you figured it out so quickly! Don't think I've ever had a creator respond to a comment this fast, you guys are great!
Does anyone have a link to the perspective shift of karns temporal sundering Jim was talking about? I could only find this with a google search: imgur.com/gallery/SJXNp
I was hoping from the title you guys went high stakes full blown Yugioh where the losers have to dodge wrecking balls or something. 😂 Good game anyway.
Anyone know where I can find a high level edgar markov decklist? I've been trying to for a while now and have no luck. Any help would be much appreciated.
@@Phelps285 That would be amazing! I can pay for making the decklist. Trying my best to get the deck as close to optimal as possible (minus like the original dual lands prices). From my understanding his best odds in a multiplayer scenario would be a aristocrats vampire tribal deck. Grave pact, dictate of erebos, necropotence, exanguinate, debt to the deathless ect. With the infinite combo of exquisite blood and sanguine.
@@Phelps285 No worries just took it down so I dont get spammed or anything. I do appreciate any insight you can give though. I'm relatively newish so the help is much appreciated.
It was at a MN GP actually he assisted in some increadibly complex commander siduation i got the table into. Also was the judge for our box sealed event, if memory serves correct.
New equipment growing pains! We've changed to new cameras and we're still dialing in some of the settings. In this case it's the wide angle lenses that came with our camcorders. It might be like this for the next couple episodes but I'm hoping to have this totally eliminated by the end of the season.
