Matteo, my coach, who is a current amateur competitor and who gets coaching from the Greats, tells me that those few times you straighten your back (including compacting the pelvis, against what you advise here) are: Double Reverse Spin, Fallaway Slip Pivot, Telespin. Your thoughts?

Hey Richard! Of course there are moments when we must pull our lower center inside and therefore the pelvis is rotating forward-inward. Just think about every CBMP. But this video was about the general body structure in ballroom, because many dancers (and I put myself of the past in this group as well) have no clear understanding of the spine curve, how it should look and why. It’s bad and frustrating when you keep changing the way you use your body trying to get both, a good looking spine and a great connection with your partner. So, this video was exactly meant to clarify this and to help those who didn’t find their key yet 😉 Thanks for the interesting questions!

Thanks for the great video! ❤ I would like to know more about the lady's position, because I'm struggling a lot with this :( I can't maintain the beautiful curve and correct the rounded shoulders.
