I just learned this morning about the passing of Henry Fambrough the last surviving original member. You will be missed along with rest of the members of your group . Thank you all so very much for all of the wonderful music & great memories you have all brought us.
Phillipe Wynne, Bobby Smith, Billy Henderson, Purvis Jackson, and Henry Fambrough all are in the place with the Creator. They rock the house at the Grammys with CLASS! Thank you, Spinners, for the great music ❤❤❤❤❤🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾!
With all their talent, tight hsrmonies, and energetic showmanship from Phil Wynne, these brothers never got a Grammy for none of their singles or albums. But its ok. They have an eternal 'Mighty Love" from God. Rest easy fellas...yall were truly 'one of a kind.' 🕊Phil Wynne 🕊Bobbie Smith 🕊Billy Henderson 🕊Pervis Jackson 🕊Henry Fambrough
Philippe Mr Showman Wynne, just glides across the stage as if on air. His light extinguished way too soon. One of the greatest of all time in my opinion........I would have gladly spent my last dime to see them live......
1975 ...this is when the MIGHTY SPINNERS were knocking the crowds Dead...…...I SAW THEM AROUND SIX TIMES DURING THE 70'S......IT WAS A CHURCH EXPERIANCE...... .WHEW !!!
Philippe Wynne a legend, well he should be remembered as that. I saw him as a 17 year old in Manchester UK when they supported the Four Tops at the Opera House. Mr Wynne was just outstanding, a bundle of energy and such a unique presence and then that voice.
l remember this performance like it was yesterday! I was 9 years old, and it reminds me of better times with my family. l miss you so much Mom and Dad 😢. They are the reason why l love 70's Soul Music so much.
The Spinners can always sing, dance and make their audiences feel on top of the world, especially Philippe Wynne! I miss them so much, especially Phil, and I'm thankful for youtube.
Every Spinners performance is perfection. The harmonies, the timing, the outfits, all impeccable, just super professional. (While I love them all, I have to say Bobbie is my favorite.) Thanks ao much for the music.
I was 5 sitting next to my grandma on the couch watching this. My grandmother favorite group I grew up loving them because of her. My grandmother is still living and still love her Spinners ❤
Wow!! I could watch this all day!! Brings back so many good memories!! I went to go see them with my mom and her best friend at the Oakland Coliseum in the 70's!!
I wasn't even alive when The Spinners gave this dynamic performance however, my daddy loved 70s music... And what a performance it was, they rocked that place from top to bottom; everyone in the audience is clapping and moving in their seats; check out a young handsome Stevie Wonder clapping to the groove... I absolutely luv this song and video (I also luv luv luv when they came down in the audience too), in a word this spectacular performance was "Priceless" :)
Amazing how he went from this to funkadelic.Saw them perform this live before this at of all place magic mountain. So proud of them this performance when it aired they were showing everyone what they were about
I played the grooves off of the Spinners' album that had "Mighty Love". My mother and I listened to and sang along with that song. Whenever I hear it, it takes me to a happy place. I certainly do miss my mom...but my memories of us and this song make me smile. 🙂
love, Love, LOVE this performance! Everything about it! Phillipe ad libbing even better than on the record, the guys repeating the chorus repeatedly in harmony and in tune (a semi-lost art) and their ability to kill the crowd. But one question about Stevie - did he turn his head as if he was watching them go past his seat? The conspiracy theorists are gonna use that as “proof” that he’s not really blind. 😂
