The Spinners - Rubberband Man - Live - 1976

Here's a great dance tune sung by the one and only Spinners, who actually do their version of the rubberband dance.
The Spinners rate as one of the most fantastic groups along with The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Dramatics, The OJays, The Stylistics, The Whispers, The Intruders, Harold Melvin and The Blue Notes, and The Delfonics. They were apart of the golden age of classic soul groups who mesmirized us with their dances, energy, and love songs.
It's Ashame, Rubberband Man, Mighty Love, Could It Be I'm Falling In Love, I'll Be Around, Mighty Love, One of a kind Love Affair, Ghetto Child, Sadie, How Could I Let You Get Away, Then Came You, Games People Play, Love Don't Love NoBody, were among their biggest hits, making them the premier group of the 70's.

DAMN, I can't add to this comment. YEP! Even when I see this video, I am looking for a hick up of lip syncing. I forget, this was the 70's. This was live performances.

@@johnwilder8517Bullshit. There are still great singers now just as much as ever. Get so tired of people like you shitting on everything and everyone younger than them. I’m 60 and I remember all the good old music that I grew up listening to but that doesn’t mean todays music is bad… it’s just different. Try being positive instead of a hater.

One of my all time favorite songs. The best performance, in my opinion, was on Dick Clark's American Bandstand just after the record was released. It appeared to be a lip sync, which is fine by me, but the dance was the best. Basically the same dance as in this video, but they used large rubber bands dancing individually and looped together. That clip was on RU-vid years ago,but has disappeared. They don't make them like that any more.

This music just makes you FEEL *GOOD*!! I've been feeling bad today because I just came off of chemotherapy, and it's like a hangover (or worse). I was working on the laptop, just feeling bad and I heard a snippet of this song on a commercial on TV (running in the background.) And I just HAD to hear the whole song (thank you RU-vid!!!) And I'm feeling BETTER!!! It's not a cure, but I'm SO glad I got to hear it!! Great music is NEVER out of style. BTW, I was in college when this was a hit. It made me want to dance despite everything, but that would have been a mistake since I'm a OWG (Old White Guy) who NEVER could dance anyway. 🙂 But I can appreciate those who are great at it.
