Through prayer, my mother-in-law, now in her nineties, has sustained my family for a quarter of a century. Her childlike faith and commitment to incessant prayer gives her dignity and power. There's no question she's blessed us beyond anything we can fully perceive. If I give the battle, she's holding my arms. Blessed is she.
That life of intercession is filled with much more than prayers! Your mother-in-law has paid a price to hold each of you before the cross of Christ, and I have no doubt He has blessed her and will reward her in Eternity!!
@@margitrujillo6943 you are right. She believed, she sought, she obeyed, she denied herself to build God's kingdom in her family. God has blessed and sustained her in so many ways through not easy circumstances. I am with you trusting in God's mercy for when she meets her Creator.
@@marypinakat8594 always nice to hear from you; and yes, while I did already hear it I am grateful you put the timestamp. I suggest editing your head comment and add the timestamp in so that people can insta-click it and go straight to that highlight.
I love to watch/listen to your Sunday Sermon before we go to our Sunday Sermon. I am hard of hearing and this helps clarify the message because I can't always understand what our beloved Fr Perez is saying. Thank you so much.
For the last three months i have been in this battle. I lost my job two months ago, my family does not want to go to church, they call me crazy for praying the rosary. I question myself, why the struggle is only for me. Soon I realize i dont find the comfort anywhere else but in God.
Hearing your story probably provides a bit of consolation for many who are also struggling. Actually, I personally was pleased to hear about you staying firmly in faith and praying the rosary in such a situation. And I thank God for giving you strength. May He bless you and your family, and may Our Blessed Mother support you as she promised to those who pray the rosary.
stay strong, God will honor your perseverence. Don't give up on the mediatrix of grace, she will transform your family for the better; it happened to me. The rosary is a powerful weapon against evil, padre pio once said that. Praying for you "Be on your guard, stand firm in the faith". Take care
@@stephrichards4611 If you're anglican, it makes no difference whatsoever: your idol is Henry the 8th, a false god like the serpents worshipped by the other cults your cult spawned. Your cult is the product of rebellion and that's why your cult's mother country is becoming atheist by the hour since it has bowed to a false religion. Your cult was invented by a man who murdered his wives in cold blood, it wasn't founded by the living God, but by an acolyte of the father of murderers, he who was a murderer from the beginning. That's your Anglicanism. :-)
I just simply love listening and absorbing your knowledge in the sacred scriptures bishop Barron. God bless, stay healthy and stay safe always, thank you.
Thank you God Jesus Christ Pastor Hon'ble Dr Bishop Robert Barron Ministries World for your Blessings in Jesus Mighty Name I pray. Amen Hallelujah praise the Lord. 🙏🙏🙏
Thinking of all the "small" people which keeps the arms of the Church always raised. The sacristans, the hospitality ministers, the women and cleaners who help upkeep and beautify our Churches, our soup workers, the silent donators who's names we do not know and the list goes on. We pray for them. God Bless them.
Bishop Barron this is such a true and super homily .greater truth is in every word. It all pays off at the end of life. Worth all the ups and downs God is with me in all.
In college, I was part of the Antioch Weekend retreat team. Whenever one of the team members was giving a talk to the people attending the weekend, another team member would be in another room, praying with their arms raised. I would always end up sitting on the floor between two chairs to support my arms. Most of the talks ran about 45 minutes. Even though my Dad and two of his brothers were barbers, I had no genetic predisposition toward holding my arms up for that long.
@End Time Deceptions Decoded. gee, if he's that terrible and the Catholic Church is that terrible, why are you so attracted to this video? Then again, where in scripure does it say anything about scripture alone? On the other hand, Paul did write about the church being the Body of Christ.
I THANK GOD FOR HAVING THE PRIVILEGE TO LISTEN TO YOU BISHOP BARRON, THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR PRAYERS AND FOR SHARING YOUR WISDOM WITH US. I CAN'T THANK YOU ENOUGH. GOD BLESS YOU.
You shall not act dishonestly in rendering judgement. Show neither partiality to the weak nor deference to the mighty, but judge your fellow men justly. Leviticus 19:15. Thank goodness for diversity amongst the people of God. The Church needs all of the faithful.
Your HOMILY gave me such solace and comfort - especially that part about "don't trust a man that does not have any enemies" more so when you're following the path of Christ. God bless us!
A beautiful message is these times where we are so divided. Padre Pio called the Rosary the best weapon against derision and the dark forces of this world.
Thank you Bishop Baron for showing that there are different ways to support our Church. A weight has been lifted for those that can’t be in the fight but can support with prayers and financial support.
As I spend more time seeking God and learning through His many gifts to me, I am often struck with how powerful He weaves the threads of my journey. I listened to this podcast and then moved on to the scripture assigned for this week by the "What We Believe" course our parish is conducting. Corinthians 12 27-31; "Now you are Christ's body, and individually parts of it. Some people God has designated in the church to be, first, apostles; second, prophets; third, teachers; then mighty deeds;..." "Are all apostles" Are all prophets?..." "Strive eagerly for the greatest spiritual gifts." We all have a role to play in this battle.
Brilliant sermon. I would argue that it is not only the wealthy, but the hundreds of thousands of moderate income donors, and the poor, who make a significant contribution to the world of the Church.
I love short strong lesson which have one focus. These are easier to ponder than longer sermons that bring into much information. Too many words distract from the lesson. Thank you for these short, focused, strong lessons.
They had my house watched and had my activities around town monitored, they abused me psychologically, they destroyed my friendships, they prevented my growth in any career, they assigned me to hard labor which permanently damaged my leg, they broke up my family, destroyed my reputation, tried to kill my religious vocation, broke my heart, tore my soul, and sold me for money. Yet, I tried to teach them, feed them, minister to them, and walk with them because they were my own people.
God made all his children with unique fingerprints, we are all unique because He made us that way…..but we can come together in His church. It’s such a comforting and inspiring thought. I loved this sermon. ♥️✝️
You speak so beautifully . Your explanations of scripture are crystal clear and full of truth. Thank you Bishop Barron. You are such a blessing to us all.
Thank You so much dear bishop Baron, having and listening to your homely is one of the best gifts that Our Lord has given to our generation ! Thank You Lord, O thank you Father, O thank you O Jesus, O thank you O Holy Spirit Lord, Amen!
God bless you Bishop. Today my brother was diagnosed with severe heart-disease and will need surgery soon. He is 32. Please pray for him. I appreciated the message. Perhaps our prayers will support the hands of his surgeons in the same way Moses's hands were supported..
THE SACRAMENT OF THE ANOINTING OF THE SICK 1)a) The sick person should call for the priests /elders /presbyters of the church, and they will pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the Lord will raise him up ..... ( see James 5 : 13 ff in the Bible). 1) b) A footnote in my New Testament says:- Each time a Christian falls seriously ill, he may receive the Anointing of the Sick, and also when, after he has received it, the illness worsens. 2) Jesus summoned the Twelve, and began to send them out two by two .... So they went out and preached that men should repent. And they .... anointed with oil many that were sick and healed them . ( see Mark 6 : 7 ff)
The Spiritual Life is a Battle! Absolutely! Indeed, it truly is! How could it not be? We believe because of what happened to Christ! His life, His teachings, His crucifixion on the cross, and His ultimate resurrection are our only hope, only salvation, our everything! As He was hated, publically shamed, and beat to death, why should we not be? It all comes with the territory as disciples of Jesus. Hallelujah for that! And, we give Him all of the honor, praise, worship, and glory! Amen!
“I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and difficulties for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Corinthians 12:10
An excellent and much appreciated explanation of how our life in the church today and the spiritual battles we face correlates to the Amalekites at the time of Moses. Thank you Bishop Barron for sharing your wealth of knowledge with such clarity and wisdom. God bless you always.
Amen! The daily spiritual battle, winning with prayer, remaining united--thank you for your Spiritual Wisdom. Conventional wisdom misses the mark of the Lord's great plan for our lives. ❤🌻
Blessed sunday bishop Barron. Thank you for guiding us in sensing the spiritual life and spiritual battlefield as a whole within and outside the Church... we trust the Lord and the Church. We pray for you bishop and all the word on fire.
I appreciate this. I would say that I am directly involved in dealing with spiritual battle. I don't want to give up, because if I am not running towards God, then I am spinning my wheels in the mud or I am being pushed away or running away.
Dear Bishop Baron. I’m an 87 year old Canadian widower. I’m blessed & so grateful that Iwas encouraged 9 years ago to take typing & get an IPad so my precious sister in law living in Europe could communicate with me. Well what a blessing it has been I was totally scared of Internet etc. what I love is that I can find all these inspirational talks and sites to help me become a better person to see the world differently.. Bishop Baron I came across your site this past week and have been totally blowing over with the awesome wonderful beautiful way you share ,explain gospels and our faith. how true it is that we need to pray to stay strong in this world and with the grace of God I do hope that now at my age I am one of the pillars with my prayers to hold up the rest of those fighting in it. I’m already Receiving negative feedback from friends , and even family members ,when I try to speak about our faith God’s graces and why we have to go through all the suffering. I pray for you and your work please pray for me and my family God bless you🙏🏻
"For we are not contending against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places." (Ephesians 6: 12)
God bless you,Bishop Barron! Thank you for being such a faithful instrument of God. May you always feel us supporting your arms as you lift them to the Lord!
Thank you so much for this homily Bishop; I have the privilege to be the lector at Mass tomorrow morning of this first reading- it will mean so much more to me now!
Bishop you speak truth, and I love you for it. I've listened to your wisdom for many years. God Bless and protect you, and bring you every Blessing that WE need through you. It's apparent that your voice is so necessary....keep up the keeping up, you have ears listening. God Bless you!
