I was just about to comment this. But would that mean the Octo Expansion comes before Splatoon 3, or after, due to the fact that in the expansion, your called 8 and not 7.
@@Leon-hk7ew In the octo expansion, Tartar calls you " test subject number 10,008 " . Cap'n Cuttlefish calls you " agent 8 " because that's the last number in 10,008. Agent 8 is mentioned during the Finalfest, so the events of the octo expansion happen before splatoon 3 because splatoon 3 is after the Finalfest Splatocalypse of splatoon 2.
It doesn't matter who agents 5 and 6 are, what matters is that Captain Cuttlefish calls the OE protagonist Agent 8 because they are applicant 10,008. There was never any mention of an agent 7.
@@beaniecat__0 no pearl and marina never joined cuttlefish but i assume in splatoon 3 they might making them 7 and 8 because agent was called challenger 10,008 so cuttlefish called them agent 8 but they were the 5th agent and in splatoon 3 we will play as agent 6 so if pearl and marina joined it would make them 7 and 8 did that clear up anything?
I don't think that was TRULY the intention. Not entirely anyways. I think the main focus was who was going to guide you through the story mode of Splatoon 2. Just a thought.
I’m probably gonna order pearl’s amiibo so I can get the clothes she wears. When you scan it you get the clothes she wears in octo expansion. I need to finish the single player story mode campaign to save Callie to use my Callie and Marie amiibos because I forgot that is what you needed to do to use the amiibo to get the gear.
Agent 8 isn’t the eight agent they are just called that since Captain Cuttlefish doesn’t like having to say 10008 every time. Edit: After reading the replies I think people where confused. He is agent 8 but that doesn’t mean that there needs to be an agent 7. Captain Cuttlefish didn’t want to say subject 10008 and so he skipped a few agents so that it’s agent 8. Also obviously it’s a joke because octopi have eight legs.

Pearl and Marina aren't Agents 5 to 6. The basis of your theory that there is a secret Agent 7 relies mostly on that, which can't be proven. Cuttlefish sometimes referred to them (Marina, Pearl, Eight) as a selective, "Squidbeak" in the final boss cutscene, but if Pearl and Marina are recognised agents or not is still down to speculation. If anything, it's more or less a question of who Agents 5-7 are. Which STILL seems like conjecture. Remember that Cuttlefish probably didn't even know about Agent 4 at the time. At the intro, Cuttlefish actually came up with Agent 8 after Telephone told them about their identity as 10,008.
Yeah. I agree but maybe after you beat the dlc Pearl and Marina join the new squidbeak splatoon. Or Cuttlefish invites them. But they probably wouldn't be 5 and 6 it would be 4 and 5 since Cuttlefish most likely doesn't know about agent 4. Who knows really. Its just a theory. A GAME THEORY

Marina calls a distress which then agent 3 comes and saves you. It could be likely that agent 3 knows who pearl and marina are. I could be over thinking this though. If agent 3 knows who pearl and marina are then cuttlefish would probably let them in the squidbeak. And also in the end before you fight tarter. well..actually...uh..the plaza still exists! if you enter the small alleyway to the left of the amiibo box in the square, you can zoom in past the fence and the plaza tower is back there! another thing you could've done research on : that is NOT the statue of liberty, in fact it might be David by Michelangelo, the hair and pose is similar, but the statue of liberty doesn't have curly hair.
I think people mostly make the incorrect connection because of: 1) the size, 2) the colour, and, 3) the fact that Libs is a statue, but David is only a painting, no? Please do correct me if I'm wrong on that last one. EDIT: just googled it, and I was wrong! The pose is still wrong, though. NILS' right arm is cut off, but reaching skyward. David's right arm is just sort of hanging by his side.

There are no agents 5-7... if you payed attention, the only reason the octoling in the expansion is agent 8 is because captain cuttlefish wanted to shorten the name (Give a nickname for), “10,008.” This doesn’t automatically mean there are more agents we are unaware of, its just a nickname. If Pearl and Marina were agents, Cuttlefish would address them by their agent names, like he does with agents 1, 2, 3, and 8. Just wanted to point out the obvious to avoid people getting misled... sorry... I feel like kind of a d-bag for being a hater, but just statin the facts. I probably wouldn’t have commented if you just titled the video, “Splatoon 2 Story Timeline (And a bonus theory)” since most of the video just explains the story mode timeline.

I think that Shiver, Frye, and Big Man will be agents 5, 6, and 7, since Pearl and Marina weren’t confirmed to be agents 5 and 6. Also, we know that Deep Cut will be in the Splatoon 3 story, since there was a cutscene shown in the Splatoon 3 direct with them in it.

Ok so my theory on the final splatfests. So Marie won the final splatfest of Splatoon 1, and suddenly Callie goes missing-the other squid sister-at the start of the Splatoon 2 story. I believe that Chaos winning the Splatoon 2 final splatfest, there will be some element of Chaos in Splatoon 3’s story campaign.

Agent 8 is only a nickname given by Cuttlefish because of her 10,008 applicant number. Pearl and Marina were never referred to as Agents 5 and 6 (though I’m not saying they couldn’t get those roles after Octo Expansion). So I don’t think there is currently an Agent 5, 6, or secret 7.
Agent 8's number 8 is based on the 10008, not just that, It's actually because the 8 has to do with the octopus and word octo is based on the 8 and also the octopus has 8 tentacles. Agent 7 ain't a thing. Maybe for a future Salmoling DLC should be called Agent S because the S references a Salmonid and from the 1st letter of the game.

If you keep pestering Marie in the Octo Canyon, she might start mumbling about "Finding an Agent 5". The intro to the Octo Expansion also have the Octoling as contestant 10008, it was shortened to Agent 8, cause the name was too long for him to remember. So Agent 1 and 2, with Splat 1 Agent 3, and Splat 2 Agent 4, the agent order is as it should be, the next game will probably continue with the trope of Agent 5 as the main character for the story.

If I’m not mistaken, Pearl and marina were never specifically called agents 5 and 6... therefore, I think the octoling character is only called agent 8 because he/she was _user_ 10008. Nothing to do with linear numbers.

They've evolved probably 50 times their original size because in Splatoon 2 on salmon run on some of the maps you can see a giant fork with the barbecue sausage on it indicating that the inklings are tiny
