I'm a Jets fan, but since round 2, I was mainly cheering for the Oilers, especially after that exciting comeback in the Finals series. But during the celebration, when Maurice said on live TV that if he had one more wish, he wished that Winnipeg would win the next Stanley Cup, any resentment I had for him leaving the team went away and I am so happy for him. What a class act!

I live in Edmonton and was absolutely fuming when when Edmonton lost, but to be fair Florida definitely came out more hungry and won fair and square, as much as I hate to admit it. I love the oiler's, and always will, but come on, yeah Canada hadn't won a cup since 1993, but neither has Florida. They've been a team for only 10 years less than Edmonton but Edmonton has won 5 cups, Florida won their first. Yeah I'm upset, and will still remain a devoted oiler's fan, but i gotta be happy for and respect to Florida with this win.

As someone who doesn’t watch a lot of hockey. I think I might start watching a lot of hockey. There’s hardly any commercials, what a concept. I was shocked going into the 3rd that the zone possession showed it nearly tied. Panthers were super aggressive until they got their second goal then they just played keep away.

Big, big, big props to the Panthers for adjusting and winning. I can't help but wonder if there was an illness going through the locker room that kept them down in games 4-6 when they looked slow. Various players on the Canucks were sick in the playoffs and their performance suffered. The 3 day break between games 6 and 7 may have been the difference where the Panthers were able to recover enough and come back strong.

As disappointed as I am that yet ANOTHER team from the Sunbelt is taking home the Stanley Cup ( Bettman was grinning ear to ear)you have to give kudos to the panthers. They bent but they didn't break. They regained their composure and Maurice got them back on track and they got back to playing their t defensive game and they brought it home

Don't think Florida didn't benefit from the refereeing this series because they certainly did. When you grab a player by the leg in the corner and hold them or you football tackle a player in the last 2 minutes, you get big breaks, so don't go saying you knew what was going to happen, because you didn't. "at least making it a series"? The Panthers won by one goal in game 7, and could have easily lost this game. The oilers had more goals on Florida in 5 games than any other team in the playoffs. They handed Florida the worst beating in the playoffs. They could have easily lost the series if it wasn't for Bobrovsky, especially in games one and 3. The Oilers had one if the most historic and hard fought seasons in history. So I'm sure they would say, "your welcome", for at the very least making it a series.
