I love that you can see the artwork a little more clearly. I do appreciate a detailed reference book that includes the thoughts behind the art. -- as for the large boxes that we sometimes get... I think it would be a great idea to take the insert out that holds the deck and mod podge whatever you would like to make it into a type of storage box or to regift something to a friend in after making it your own.

I just received this deck a couple of days ago. I'm so in love with everything about it. I love the guidebook, cardstock, and size. I love it and so happy I got the second edition because I probably wouldn't have got it if I already had the first one. Great video! Thank you ♡

I've seen a few walkthroughs of this deck and I never felt drawn to it because of the Emperor's spelling among other things. But somehow, when you show it, it draws me more. Thanks for doing this.

This is a gorgeous deck, of which I was previously unaware. Thank you for showing it! I will almost certainly be welcoming the Star Tarot into my personal collection. I appreciate that you pay so much attention to card stock in your reviews. I agree it’s a big part of the tactile experience of connecting with the deck and totally important.

It's great that you've done this video! I still feel really torn because I like the vibrant colors of the new deck and the details in a larger image, but prefer the clean version and cute size of your trimmed version. A mod on the new ones would ruin their backs, so I'm interested to see a video if you do trim it - it will definitely help me decide. Thank you for making these! 💗🙏

Regardless of it's issues.....gilding, bowed cards, misspelling of Emperor, sticky cards.....I love this new edition. I consider this creator to be brilliant. Her guide book is a real treasure. And I so appreciate the new color version. Matte cards, wonderful. I hope to get a new deck at some point from Schiffer. They have informed me that they are uncertain when more printings will be made.....so we'll see. I just consider the version I have now "the collector's version" due to the spelling error. Hee

Oh what a nice second edition. I didn't know the finish also changed. I don't know why they put such huge borders in the first edition, I still haven't found one person that liked those! Thank you very much for sharing 💕

I think that was just the thing back then because all their older decks I have all have a huge border. I am so glad to see they are releasing decks borderless now. (Now if they would just stop with the gilding lol) I'm hoping for a Tarot of the Sidhe second edition. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️

Happy Birthday !!! I’m so happy. This was my Tarot wish for sooo long! I can’t believe it actually happened. I Loved this deck so deeply but hated the card stock so much that every time I used it, I would get downright angry! 🤣. My only complaints are that mine seems to already be chipping and also it is SO thick it’s hard to shuffle. But I still believe these are so much better than the original! I love the matte and I LOVE the new backs. Plus I feel the images are definitely bigger which my old eyes love.

I bought this deck yesterday so I’m watching your walk through. I returned the Fountain Tarot because of the guiding. I bought it again because so many consider it top of their list of most favs. I’ll try to remove the guiding after I see your tutorial on this deck guiding removal. Hi Dawn Michelle! My Influence of the Angels Tarot had that horrendous sharp gilding that made the edges of the card slightly thicker than the card itself. One of my viewers suggested a bone folder. I smooshed down all the edges with a bone folder and now my gilding has a beautiful antiqued kinda brushed metal gold. The edges now feel almost "soft" and satiny to the touch. Thank you for reviewing this deck. I had the first edition and didn't connect to it. Now I regret not hanging on to it, lol.

Looks like Schiffer did a good job with this new edition minus the spelling mistake. I think on camera the new edition looks a tad more brilliant or deep. I am attached to my sticky Star trimmed edition so I will have to think on this. Thank you.

So first off - I never felt pulled to this deck before, but these are simply gorgeous! Love the backing and larger cards. Secondly - I have issues with gilding as well. I don't mind gilding, but I do mind that every deck creator for some weird reason always use that glossy gold gilding regardless of whether it fits the cards or not. For this deck I think silver gilding would have fit much better. If gold gilding is to be used I really prefer the matte gold. Sigh.

I totally agree! It's like that cheap shinny gold gilding is just the standby and they slap it on every deck... It feels very circa 1980 to me anyway, but then we all know I'm not a fan of gilding unless it's the nice matte gilding. I just wish publishers would stop with the gilding all together, I don't have a single mass market with high quality gilding. It's obviously not their wheelhouse. @@DawnMichelleTarot I agree! I don't need gilding for my cards. I prefer decks edged with pens and markers. Gilding will just go off eventually anyway and quite fast if you use a deck regularly. 😒 And thank you! I'll see about adding it to my collection in a while, I just went on a spree the other day. 😅❤

I really love this deck it so much resonates with me, however have similar issue with small hands so have 2 possibilities: wait for mini edition (if it ever comes :) ) or gladly would buy the one from you which you made by adding your time and effort even more beautiful :) if maybe one day you`ll decide you have enough of it, please take that offer into consideration :)

I have yet to see one of the newer Schiffer/Red Feather decks that didn't have those terrible corners. I haven't modified one yet, because I'm worried that the decks would chip even worse without the edge gilding, but I'm just about ready to give it a shot on my Mary El 2nd ed.

I love the second edition cardstock.... and how much better you can see the details on the cards. The edges on the one I got were all banged up with a few major dings. I have small hands so I can only shuffle it sideways and until I break it in its kind of tough to shuffle...... The new guide book is different. I love the additions to the guidebook with the Destiny spread and section on birth cards. Did you contact Schiffer to get a replacement for the “Emporer” card? Thanks for your insights.

I'm so glad you got this edition and compared them! I'm not a fan of gilding, and the error on the Emperor really bothers me, so I've been holding off even though I've been so excited for this edition. I've looked a bit into how to file off gilding, but I've never modified a deck, so I'm hesitant. Also, I'm really thankful that you mentioned Schiffer wanting to fix the spelling error. I have read that the book is actually expanded, so it's not the exact same as the first book except for some formatting. I'm eager to read it since everyone says how great the first edition is.

Thank you so much for your unboxing/review. I put this deck on pre-order as soon as I could. It is still pending as the supplier shows it has not been printed. Now that I know the Emperor card is mis-spelled I am happy to wait. How do you plan to remove the gilding? Will you trim it off or file it off with very fine sandpaper?

I pre-order this deck back in October of 2019, It took forever to get here, even after release because my shipment went astray and was lost for a while. I didn't;t realize until today they were reprinting the Emperor card, so I emailed. Have you heard anything back yet?

I got this and the bottom of the box is terrible. The cards get wedged under the lining of the box and ruins the card when you tried to get it out. I returned them because I love the boxes to store my cards in. I was so bummed when the box ruined the final card. I have seen other RU-vidrs have a problem getting the cards out.

EMPORER may not be quite misspelled.... in Latin, 'Emporium' means the areal (many countries together) reigned by the 'king' (in English, is called 'emperor', but is an 'Imperial' ruler). So, maybe in the history some english men 'misspelled' the 'imperial' and finally was 'emperor'. It would not be the biggest misspelling from the history.... I definitely would NOT judge the card's title before more information (as a rule of thumb: I never accept an opinion from an evidently uneducated man/woman who only tries to tell an 'opinion'. )

Considering that in the first edition deck and in the new guidebook it is spelled "Emperor" and the publisher acknowledges it as a typo, I feel pretty confident in calling it a mistake. It also doesn't track to have one title using a more archaic spelling when that is neither the scope or context of the deck. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️

Couldn't you just sand off the guilding and re-edge it? I've had friends do that on other decks with success.

@@DawnMichelleTarot Oh I'm sure it is a lot faster and easier. Hope you don't have to cut too much into the images, that would be a shame to loose a lot of the image. I'll check it out when it comes out.
