I'm 70. Used to drive my hubby's 65 musfzng to work listening to the Statlers on 8 track. Back in the 80s. Life goes on, Don, lead singer, us in his 70s and though he no longer sings, his voice still is full and rich when to hroups or interviews. Music lives on because we love the purity. xo
AT 83 I goway back!! I so love the stories, the melodies , the sincerity.& all the rest!! Not a big hit...BUT...sooo special... remind me all of my growin up BIG THX
I’ll have to put my two cents in!! I love the Statler Brothers also!! But I was raised in the north east in Philadelphia area, growing up hating country music!! But then I met and married my husband who was from Alabama, and we had a son… He didn’t want me to listen to rock ‘n roll but just wanted me to listen to country music!!! Which I did, and I’m glad I did!! I learned a lot about country music and learned to recognize a lot of the country singers, The Statler Brothers included!!
33yrs old. I just got into the Statlers. I'm guessing there aren't too many people out there like me. They're certainly not for everybody, but I truely enjoy their sound and the topics of the songs. I'm gonna sound older than I am, but I wish new music had the same heart like these guys had!
Loved them since the mid 70's. I was about 17 years old then. Congratulations on finding them!! You'll not be disappointed no matter what song you happen upon. Just can't beat the 4 part harmony of the Statlers!!!!
I like how they showcase the band here. Usually the band is hidden. A lot of people don't even realize that there IS a band behind them. They think it's just 4 guys with Jimmy's (or Lew's) guitar.
