HOW can 548K people watch this Statler performance and NOT just have a great big ole grin come across their face and Absolutely, Positively 👍 LOVE it?!!💖🎶🥳
Recently, Harold Reid, the comedian, and bass, voice of the Staler Brothers sadly, has left us. The Statler Brothers, had a unique sound that was ALL THEIR OWN. Harold, has joined Lew, at The Throne Of God. Our hearts are broken, But God rejoices, in their unique sound. The Statler Brothers, WILL ALWAYS be loved and missed. Thank you gentlemen, for your love and your songs.
They will always be a part of my life a big part they brought me many pleasant times and I have many wonderful memories of seeing them in person and seeing what down to earth guys they were
Lew was awesome and most of all very courageous to perform with very real pain that Chron”s disease caused . They didn’t have the treatment back then that they do now for it it is unimaginable how that must have felt . God Bless Lew!
This along with the other comedy skits are hilarious and all time timeless classics for at least 2 reasons 1) Their retirement 2) Lew & Harolds passings They are all missed. There will never be another group like The Statler Brothers not has there ever in the country music industry been any other group like The Statler Brothers. Thank God for man to have someone with the ability & knowledge make this new technology & to make RU-vid videos and to have these timeless classics for our enjoyment. God Bless The Statler Brothers thats left (Don Reid, Phil Balsley, & Jimmy Fortune) although their not together anymore but they’re still Brothers & to the families of Lew Dewitt & Harold Reid and all their fans. Rest In Peace Harold Reid & Lew Dewitt y’all are truly missed & loved
AMEN.....BROUGHT A TEAR TO MY EYES....GOT A LUMP IN MY THROAT WHEN I THINK ABOUT THEM BOYS....GOOD MENORIES OF A BETTER DAY......SAD WHEN THEY START LEAVING US ...GOD BLESS😥❤
Thank YOU Statler Brothers for giving US the best years of OUR lives! Loving you guys until the day I die, and THEN, I’m going to love you guys for all Eternity. God Bless you!!
I have loved these guys since early in their career. I had a crush on Harold's voice, I mourned when Lew left. God bless them all. Harold, enjoy that great bass section in Heaven's choir. God thank you for gifting us with this group.
Love the Statler Brothers, Harold Reid was certainly one of a kind, he had an awesome sense of humor! Lew DeWitt had such a beautiful soprano voice, I could listen to him sing all day! God rest their souls, I miss them both! The Statlers had such good old fashioned clean humor, its something that's sorely missing in the world of entertainment these days! The Statler Brothers Show was the best thing on tv in the mid and late 1990s! I watched it every Saturday night!
@ @barrybrittain6157, Lew had a Tenor Voice, not Soprano, but his Tenor Voice was very unique to say the least. It had the sound and workings of a Tenor Voice meant more for Opera than Country/Gospel Music, but yet Lew worked with what God gave him, and crafted that beautiful Opera style Tenor Voice to make it work for Country/Gospel, and God gave him what we got to hear, and enjoy for the 18 years that he was with the Group.
Best quartet ever! Saw them in 1972 with the Johnny Cash Show in PA. So glad I got to go. Their Christmas albums are family favorites. Miss you Harold, RIP.
I remember the statler brothers, they are the reason that I got into listen to country music, I have been their fan since I was 4 years old, I got to see them at the alder theater in downtown Davenport twice, I met Harold and Phil and Jimmy but the only person that I didn't get to meet was Don Harold's brother, I will always miss Harold Reid, he was the best statler brothers I have ever seen, rest in peace Harold Reid, let the angels always be your guide.
WHEW! Much as I love Jimmy Fortune, there is NO ONE that can touch Lew DeWitt. I had forgotten - but IMMEDIATELY recognized that delightful vibrato that ONLY Lew brought to my Favorite Four.
I absolutely ADORE THE STATLER BROTHERS.....Icould listen to them everyday of the week....loved to watch them on TV when I was a young girl....I was AMAZEDby there singing and harmonizing...just ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL....GOD BLESS.....R.I.P. HAROLD...WE WILL MISS YOU...😇🙏❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🤠🤠🤠🤠
I met Lew in 1975 I think it was . The Statlers were having a 4th of July I celabraton in their home town.. During a break Lew came over and talked to me..Lew was so kind and friendly....RIP Lew
@@barbarashaw8136 They had that celebration every year to give back to the community. It was a free show. I was there for the last one when they had Conway Twitty for a guest.
Saw these guys live in Bangor , Maine one night, opener was Brenda Lee. One of the best concerts I've ever heard, and clean - no inneuendos, just great music and fun personalities.
I have seen The Statler Brothers in concert 8 times in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, and now I see them periodically in Virginia as I live in the same town as Harold and Don Reid
What an absolutely BEAUTIFUL mix! All of my favorites. I have listened to the Statlers for years & years & like everyone I was devastated when I heard about Harold. Same with Joey & Rory, talk about an angel being taken to soon. I'm sure that Joey & Harold are with all of the other country music greats in Heaven & singing beautiful music for the Lord!
LOVE LOVE LOVE the Statler Brothers. Always have, Always will. Also, If you haven't heard Harold and Don's sons sing, you're REALLY missing out! I believe their going under the name "Wilson Fairchild"
This was a great way to enjoy MUSIC. Stattlers will out live a lot of us today. This is MUSIC for everyone. It will be played forever and more people will enjoy it. As I listen to it today it did bring back memories of long ago. Been there done that and enjoyed it all over again. R.I.P TO ALL OF THE SINGERS WHO DIED IN 2O2O.
I love them all, Statler Brothers. I'm so sorry for the loss of Harold Reid. I wish music like that would still be popular, but these days, all I hear is mostly trash.
The only thing that made me wish I was a American instead of British was your Country music, always loved it, pity it has now lost its way, the Statlers and the old singer are the best
Whoever don’t like the starker brothers don’t know what great music is. You can understand their lyrics clap your hands to the music listen to their songs long enough you’ll be able to sing along they have comedy seriousness they do salutes to the country they are down right down to earth a great group. Miss Lew and his voice & a great guitar player. I know their music better than the oak ridge boys but the oaks are my 2nd favorite group as the statlers are my 1st. Jimmy came into the group around 1982/1983 somewhere in that area after Lew had to quit do to health problems. Now their all retired from the group but Jimmy still performs single. I miss them all. I would’ve loved to have been at their final farewell concert. Great bunch of guys singing country and gospel. They got their start with Johnny Cash back in the late 1960s.
My family and I were able to see the last 3 concerts the Statlers gave. They were each Awesome. Amazing talent and they gave their fans so much!! We followed Jimmy's single career for years until the young girls became too busy to travel. Fantastic memories... Lew and Harold are missed. Meeting Harold's daughter was a highlight for us of touring their museum on Monday after the last concert. God gave us wonderful music from them to cherish for years!! (did you know that Lew FOUND Jimmy and wanted him to replace him with the quartet?)
Sherry Allen yes I knew that about Jimmy & Lew & Jimmy only lived about 30 miles away from Staunton according to interviews they’ve given. On some songs (with Jimmy) he sounds a little bit like Lew but on others you can tell it’s Jimmy instead of Lew. Such a remarkable group that God has given us. RIP Harold & Lew now y’all are singing together again in Heaven
@@brianhelle7064 Jimmy grew up in Anderson County. Before the Statlers retired he and Nina lived on Hwy 11 and their home could be seen from I-80 (I think that I remember that!). My daughter came up with the name of his first fan club (Fortune Tellers). We've lost touch with them but we have great memories of going to Jimmy's concerts in the 1st few years after his solo career was launched. His voice is very distinctive and easily recognized. The blend was there with the Statlers, maybe not quite as familiar in the beginning as Lew, but they were both amazing tenors! I still listen to my CDs and I have the DVD of the Statlers' last concert. We are actually in it for brief seconds!! I enjoy reading your comments, so thanks!
I was just searching for a song about the movies I remember hearing on AM radio in the 1980s and thinking, "That was the cheesiest, worst song I've ever heard." :-| My apologies.
I just clicked smthng in MA song and pop came the Statler brothers and and frm the first sing I've heard ive been a great fan of these guys ........... this song was awesome and fulla happiness in my heart ........
I've recently found The Statler Brothers, I wish I'd found them sooner. I play them every night i go to sleep with a happy smile according to my husband 😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤
It's a shame that they can't sing anything good about the movies that have been put out in last 15 years. And country music today sucks, don't even turn the radio on anymore.
This is about the movies I am watching that now.....Lew of course sounded the best, Such nice man In fact when my dad said I was ugly Lew said I think you are very cute... I felt like a million dollers
