I miss the days when they were on the radio all the time. I've been listening to southern gospel a couple days now. My heart goes from aching to overwhelming joy in instant rollercoaster hills. Thank you Jesus for planting that seed in me. Deep within my rotten, wretched and wicked heart. You have changed me. I feel convicted of my sins now because of you Lord. The sorrow and shame of being a sinner. The joy for being thought of. The joy of being written down in the book of life. Of being Saved..

This was my grandfather 's (George "Pop" Smith) favorite hymn. We would sit at the piano and sing at the top of our lungs. We loved listening to the Statler Brothers. Thanks for the memories.

This hymn was was great grandpa's favorite one one day he got really sick and he had a massive stroke he could not recinizine us at all ! He played this on his harmonica and then he went to heaven!
I loved this group so much and was so sad when they retired, The Bible does not speak of retirement. He gave them a gift that should of been used until they could not sing for Jesus. They changed life's . Giving Praise and Glory to our Lord Jesus Christ with their voices giving his message to the world . That is what we are suppose to do in our older age. That is one reason I believe he keeps us here as we get older. It is not about us. It is all about helping people to know God' son !
Of course the Bible doesn't speak of retirement... When it was written, very few people lived past their 50th birthday... A man living to his 60th birthday would've been like someone living to 100 nowadays (it happens occasionally but you wouldn't want to bet on it!)
My Grandfathers and one Grandmother are there, along with many other friends/family, and I only hope I don't join them too soon, you know? I spread Christ's love and message as best I can. I fail often, but I know when I do and I work to not fail again. We will join them again one day, and when we do, we will know true perfection.
