Wow guys, you can have that on your own, my new DMax is a princess. All the vehicles and drivers are doing great but that old 80 series is the ducks nuts, what a fantastic vehicle. It seems to have the right gear ratios and engine torque matched perfectly. The 79 seems to have a dire need to loose weight and tighten up the suspension, I would be real scared in that thing and I grew up in the bush with a willys jeep and series two landies. I can only imagine the caning the two clutches are copping taking off on the steep inclines. The Ranger is doing a really good job, you seem to have the right amount of lift and it shows what the rear locker can do-I take it you only have the standard electric rear locker supplied with the vehicle. Lucky it is dusty and not wet, imagine coming down on a wet track.
OMG wow wow wow I thought the start of this episode the road was bad, but then there was Billy Goats Bluff, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry, that road, steep rocky, but the scenery in the high country is absolutely amazing, beautiful, stunning, the river crossings the Dargo pub, great company, Nat Ash and Alister ( Woka), what a fabulous adventure you are all on, can't wait for next week to see what you all get up too, stay safe.🙏😌❤️

good job of getting the shots of some of those harder parts on billy goats. not many people are willing to get out that much and walk to film. Yeah I shredded bits of my ATs back in Jan too. luckily they were old ATs. Glad you are enjoying the Vic High country
I am thinking the first steep track you were on was Herne Spur Track ? That track just keeps going up and up !! I am yet to get to Billy Goats.. but it's on my list for maybe the next trip in a few weeks. Should be interesting after the rain we have just had. The Ranger seems to be holding up pretty well !

hey legend! just the factory rear locker. always try and leave traction control on in this kind of stuff, it really helps with the grip. thanks for the support, we really appreciate it!

Great ep guys. I did Billy Goat start of March and I’m getting now rubber on the Lux this week. Completely shredded my Nitto’s. Not sure when u videoed this trip but track looks the same. Can’t wait to see Crooked River. We did the same and tackled that after Billy’s. Btw 29 crossings!! Cheers

G'day legends! Clearly the best place to have a look and check under the car is where you’re not gonna pick up a lot of dust - in the river. Talk about nice lateral thinking. Tell me Lil what is that bridge behind you at 05:40 minutes in? I read somewhere that if you’re having trouble going up a steep hill you should try and reverse up it as reverse is a higher reduction gear than first gear. Perhaps some other more experienced four-wheel drivers can let me know if that’s correct. But one of the advantages of reversing up is that you’ve got the weight of the engine over what effectively become the rear wheels - in actuality in the front wheels, which is where all the weight transfers to when you’re going uphill - always on the back axle so if you reversing the weight transfers to the front wheels with the engine over them which become the back of the car, if you know what I mean. You guys are driving all the time so you can basically leave the lockers locked in all the time. There’s enough slip under the tyres to stop the transmission from winding up. Great to see you guys all having fun!!! Stay safe and enjoy the views!

Love that 80series 👍 im thinking off putting lockers in mine , probably Elockers in back , Auto lockers up front , ive got manual locking hubs , what do you guys think , i want to keep it simple reliable and easy basic
The 80 is twin TJM air locked. E lockers are alot easier needing only power and not an air source aswell and a smidge cheaper i think. You want to be able to choose when it's locked so personally I'd stay away from auto lokas. Cheers!
to stop scredding tires use less pressure than recommended and drive slower especially while on gravel i have never wrecked a tire and my present tires have done 140000klms on front and120000 on the back
I'm curious when your going too dump her? Find someone more on your level , she gets angry over nothing, upset over nothing, her mood is up and down constantly.
