NEVER BUY KIA ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UmDpVPnIlR4.html Former Kia worker blows whistle on car fires and repairs: “People’s lives are at risk”
You know times have changed when a KIA is considered the best value new sports sedan. One has to ask, How can Hyundai- KIA do it and Ford and GM can't ? Thanks mate, Marc
what a time to be alive eh haha who knew a kia could get so good! its a shame as i think ford/holden Australia had winners its just that GM didn't want to take those cars to the US and Australia is just to small to support such a operation anymore :(
@@RossReviewsau Too right, however, Australia's not too small...we're a first world country of workers who demand a fair days pay. That's the real issue...profits before people. The demand is their, or Hyundai wouldn't be selling cars built for the Australian "sport sedan" market that's existed for over 50 years. Unfortunately, there's no loyalty to tradition in the boardroom.
@MARCUSAURELIUS Well, not entirely correct. I understand what you're getting at and yes, Australian workers rate of pay is high compared with some other less developed countries. Nevertheless, that's a very simplistic way of looking at the issue. Australian's have always been a union strong workforce, mainly for the fact they are an educated society and from intelligence and a massively high cost of living demand a fair days pay for a fair days work. However, with the resent expansion in the world of trade and with the rise of China's cheap labour and operating costs, it was inevitable that large corporations like GM and Ford, move their production to countries that don't have such massive plant and production costs, along with an endless amount of almost slave wage employees to consume. The Chinese government was even building the plants for these companies for free. All they had to do was move production and tooling there. An offer you can't refuse. No unions, a plant for free, endless slave workers and a communist government with guns to stop unruly democratic striking workers. Why are the cars still the same retail price in Australia, one must ask ? It's not about Aussie workers asking too much, it's about multi national corporations wanting to give very little in the name of profits. The same thing is going on in the US and other countries. It across all forms of industry, it's not just the car industry. Large corporations don't want their workforce to become too wealthy...with wealth brings leverage of power and corporations must hold the balance of power over the worker at all times...how do you think unions formed in the first place. Tyranny is like a slowly creeping hand on a clock, it takes a while to come around, but surely it comes, and we spill blood to correct it time and time again, that's why we call it a revolution. Cheers, Marc
@MARCUSAURELIUS Well, I guess that's your opinion and I respect that. I don't agree with the simplicity of it nevertheless. You are right with your comments on tariffs and inflated retail prices, that's in every country around the world. But your take on unions being communistic...well, I understand what you're saying, however, I disagree. The car market in the United States and Australia are very different animals. The US has 300 million people, we have 25 million. The Australian government has always place high taxes and tariffs on imports. And if there's one thing I've come to understand about taxes after 50 years on the planet, is there is no government in the world that will repeal a tax once it's been legislated in to existence. Australian's are one of the highest taxed citizens in the world and we have one of the highest costs of living in the world. One should not confuse "Unity" for communism...for one actually cancels out the other. In a free market with the absence of strong unions corporate tyranny will rise extremely fast in to the market. Unions, protect the worker from corporate tyranny. If corporations were left to their own devices to structure and control wages, they would be paying the lowest wages they could. To think to contrary is ludicrous. The idea of unions can appear somewhat communistic, I understand your point, but that's like saying the "United" States must be communistic in form, for they are a Union. Furthermore, Australia is also a union of separate country states that were unionised in the 1901federation. These two countries are far from communistic societies. But nevertheless, they are still "unions". In life there will always be "leaches", and that's a problem with a free society. Mabey Medicare is communistic as well ? A few leaches in our workforce is a very small price to pay for the protection of workers remuneration and working conditions. There's no such thing as a perfect system. However, if we were to outlaw systems of unity...Tyranny will fill up the hole that's left, that... you can take to the bank.
@MARCUSAURELIUS Yeah look, I agree with most of what you've just written. Yes, Unions have always been Labour bias, I guess that's because it was unions that started the labour party in the first place. The National Socialist Workers Party (NAZI) of the 1920's and 30's in Germany show how far a union can be infiltrated and corrupted and if given power can lead a entire nation to destruction. Yes their is loads of corruption in unions, I know that first hand, having been a shop steward in the past. I don't liken to treacherous bastards lightly and is one of the main reasons I've been self employed for over a decade now. The issue between trade and labour (in my opinion) is just another divide and conquer topic that the government uses to confuse and frustrate the voters. I agree that trade should be paid a higher rate for services and be rewarded through remuneration for skill and recognition of higher learning. For the most part, (in my opinion) they are in my experience. There may be industries and particular rolls where the gap is much closer, but if all industries were identical to one another, then we're going down the "communist" road again. There's a lot the Labour and especially the Green parties are doing to lead us towards a totalitarian rule, and that's actually a world wide agenda and not solely an Australian problem. I DON'T VOTE ! Never have...I never registered in the late 80's and as a result never been fined, for I didn't give the "AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT CORPORATION" permission to create legal joinder with me and thus give them the permission to fine me. There's a lot the common Australian doesn't understand about our political system and the Maritime Admiralty Law system that controls all commerce (world wide). Unions work sometimes, and there main function is to divide the workplace. They have done good and they have done even more damage at times. HOWEVER, we don't have a better system as yet to replace them. Look in to the difference between "common law" which is law of the land and "maritime law" which is the law of the sea, thus all commerce. Find out why your name is written in all caps and often demanded to be on all government docs, like your driver's licence. Fact is, we are controlled and ruled by actual pirates, and I say that in every sense of the word. For it was the pirates that started modern banking and their families still run the system today. Anna Bligh, former prem of QLD is a direct descendant to Capt Bligh, so it's no surprise to me she's the governor of the banking regulation system currently. Everything to do with commerce is based on water, that's because pirates invented it ! Current-flows between banks to the sea...What I mean there is CURRENT flows between river banks...the CURRENT flows to the sea..."CURRENT SEA" Currency flows between banks...get it ? We POOL our resources, we DROWN in debt, we have LIQUID assets, we LIQUIDATE companies, we FLOAT a company on the stock market, we keep our heads above WATER, we have SALES (sails) in shops and we put the FLOAT in to the till, and on it goes. It's all controlled globally by the "City of London" in greater London and that financial district's main address is on FLEET street. PIRATES !!! If the dumbed down Australian population understood the truth of our financial and political system, there would be a revolution by the morning. If you have a Mortgage, then what you really have is a MORT=death...GAGE=grip/contract. Mortgage is two Latin words put together, DEATH CONTRACT ! It's all a big game and you weren't given the rule book. Your job is to find that rule book and try and keep your head above WATER. You just couldn't make it up ! I hope I haven't written too much, I say it all in good faith ! Kind Regards, Marc WA
Interesting seeing a review on the Stinger GT out of my old hometown of Perth. Last September I drove my Stinger (fully loaded with 2 up) from outside Melbourne back to Perth over the Nullarbor and then back via Esperance to Melbourne. Car was effortless on that long haul. 7700km covered and averaging 6.8-7.4 litres per hundred km...which was excellent. Car is deep chroma blue and certainly got attention roaming the Nullarbor. Mine is fully optioned with the bi-modal exhaust, but as I live in country Victoria these days, mine has the Kia genuine tow bar package. Great review...know the area well where you filmed...
RCBM thanks man appreciate the info too! I think these are tremendous cars n I’d happily park one in my garage😁 yes challenger beach it’s always a good area to film
@@RossReviewsau usually the video software should be showing the waveform, and you'd only need to boost up the voice tracks or lower the music track :)
Loving your reviews Ross, I’m a ex GMH Holden employee that worked at Holden’s until the plant closed, always had LS VE and VF LS powered company cars, now I drive an FG XR6 Turbo, awesome car I love it
Nice review mate. I'm thinking of checking the stinger out in the future. The back, with the head rests off & the seats down would have to have enough room for what i need though. Thanks for your review.
@@RossReviewsau no doubt the best car in it's price bracket. Kia would not have left a stone unturned to get it right. It's no comparison to its usual lower tier lineup.
Great review, for some reason, I thought I had already watched a review from yourself but I was clearly mistaken🙃 they really seem to be the XR6T replacement ⁉️✌
Great review as per usual Ross ! Stinger , great car .... but it’s no Fg F 6 310 lol. They were about the same power at the tyres what the Kia at the flywheel! Shame they stopped making em !!
true.. not as good for speed.. but does beat it in other aspects.. i still think this is the next best thing tho since we dont get any local cars anymore :(
Bro review some classic Australian cars, like the old Ford's & Holden's, I'm a huge fan of Australian cars & plan to import a Ford ZL fairlane I purchased to Southern California
@@RossReviewsau cool bro, I'm from Chicago originally but spend most my time living in between California & Melbourne, I have 3 Australian Ford's, ZL fairlane, DC LTD, EA Brock B8, I was looking into importing my ZL to cali but any import after 1975 has to go through an emissions test which can cost 4000 upwards, very pricey
@@RossReviewsau my rides ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qGw0XItHZxw.html , I'm crazy about Australian Ford's, nice car u have bruh, good choice, I dig the Ute's
I hope to get one as my next car in a few years. It really goes to show, they make an affordable, great performing, almost luxury sedan that is practical with that liftback. Unfortunately people still want to buy SUV's :(
The AWD version I would buy if the engine was a litre bigger in capacity. 350KW & 700NM would do nicely in a sport wagon version of course. I will keep my worked LS3 VF series 2 Calais until this happens.
I was looking at purchasing one last year. What put me off was the fact that it isn't awd unlike the US imports. And there are a ton of aftermarket products in the US as well, including carbon fibre products.
Definitely another great review, it just makes me sad watching this, and thinking we are now living in a world where we have lost our beloved Commodores and Falcons. Because unions have made it too expensive to build those cars and utes in Australia. And our only best option we really have is bloody a KIA!!
thank you m8! its bitter sweet as i do love this car but i know for the old school people it will never suffice.. and in all honesty it's not the same but i think it is the next best thing at the moment.. its very sad how the local fords and holdens are gone :( they were epic and i hope i get to test and review every one! haha
Yes, when Ford was charging $60k for top of the range Territory and Ranger, but the Ranger was made in Thailand for a third of the cost of making the Territory here, well it was never going to end well....
its horrible here in Australia the cars get Taxed SO MUCH! n over here there really isnt any leasing that goes on so you basically gotta finance the whole car to buy it.. the only thing that saves you here is the price of insurance is much much better!
@@RossReviewsau Excellent review. Picked up my Nightsky edition this week. Dream car. Goes like a bride on her wedding night - very enthusiastically. Can't wait for the curse to be over so will get to drive it on a decent trip as opposed to short drives when necessary at the moment. In terms of performance, price, equipment and build quality, not sure there is much around at the moment to compete with it. Hate that version of grey. Looks like an undercoat. So many great cars with similar paint colour and it spoils the look of them. To each their own though.
@@belvederedog3015 very nice buy m8 i know you'll love it! i was blown away by this car.. really was... will be great once the pandemic is over everyone is missing the events and car cruises :( i loved that colour haha but ya each to their own
My fg xr6t is getting tired 😓😭😭😭 I will try and keep. And as much as id like to get mustang there isn’t enough room for kids. I’m gonna get slightly used stinger in mid $40,000s
Adrian_Aztec Signal truth fully I’m not sure on the full mod scene yet for the stinger tho i know it is growing fast! N from the video I linked you they can push big numbers that one was over 600whp! I would bet my left nut tho they will never beat the barra.. but a great 2nd option to have available now
They are ok no XR6 Sprint or a lightly modded xr6 turbo for that matter Barra motors go hard and make big power with bolt on mods but yeah each to there own had v8’s all my life love the Barra power but miss the V8 sound
I’d love one, it’s got the drool factor backed up bu performance & luxury 🍻, I’ve currently got a 15 model Sonata 2 litre Turbo & love it but the Kia looks the ultimate affordable sports beast 🇦🇺🍻👍
it def is the best value new sport sedan we got going at the moment in my eyes..kia has upgraded there game big time.. hyundai too! I30N was a fun car to review.. korean have been stepping up lately. glad you enjoyed the review
We were told there was no market for a 4 door rear drive performance sedan in Australia when our brands were folding up. When was the stinger released in Australia??.. A week after holden shut its doors. Now there’s a Hyundai genisis that shares a similar platform priced the same as an out going clubsport. Yeah, I fully understand why some Aussies are angry about what’s happened, I’m one of them. They could have done what they had to do but the lies don’t sit well with Australian’s. Low and behold Holden won’t even last 5 years after borrowing billions off the tax payer to keep its doors open changing its mind and not giving the money back. Reap what you sew!
i can feel you on this m8!.. honestly i dont really get how the companies failed.. my guess is that just the population here is to small.. the stinger is sold in so many markets where the local fords n holdens really only got sold here NZ bassically.. i wish ford n holden where allowed to make there cars for everyone then i truly think they would still be here today!
I saw the Maserati resemblance in the rear the first time I saw it, if only they (Kia) could have applied that same sort of “ inspiration” to the front...Also , at 6:46 , I see the fake carbon fibre peeling off on the bottom right of the touch screen?? Is that carbon fibre add-on from the factory , or put on by the owner? Either way, it looks tacky , and makes the whole touch screen look like a aftermarket add-on.
yes that was a aftermarket sticker🤦♂️ the car is def not as beautiful as the maserati haha but for the money and the power was really quite impressive actually.. i loved the car as you could prob tell from the review
I like everything about this car apart from the tow rating obviously it’s not a tow vehicle but if it’s coming into the markets to replace the ford falcon and Holden commodore it should have a slightly higher tow rating especially since people did use the ford and Holden quite a bit for towing. P.S I wanna see reliability in 5 years etc
yes that is a negative witch would have been nice to see a higher tow rating.. i loved the car could hardly find much to complain about but yes.. reliability will be the true test for this car
*II_4_R_Z_II* Lol...as if you would buy a Stinger and worry about how much it could tow. It's obviously not a tow vehicle. If you want to tow something heavy buy something that is designed for towing. SMH FFS.
i know right my hope is that other markets will pick up and make it live on.. but yes its sold poorly in most areas and that's a real shame! if i was after a nice new sports sedan this would 100% be the car id buy
Ross Reviews yeah so true but they do need to fix some things if they want to start selling more eg: my dad said to me that it needs more sound like it’s very quiet also the brakes heat up too quickly and I can’t remember much else but noise it needs to be loud
Sky Valley wow really legend man thanks for the offer! I’ve heard them blackmagic cameras are dope! Send me a message through my insta or FB always after a 2nd set of hands to help out 🙌

Love your channel. But that turbo v6 has nothing on a N/A V8 or a Barra inline 6. But it is a good car tho. I also have a 3is Lexus sedan with the v6 has the RR-Racing supercharged kit making 440hp and 350tq+. Fun ass daily. And also remember yes right now the interior might look better then the VF. But wait down the road and see how the build quality is compare to the holden especially the VF. Holden and Australia built a hell of a car.
I agree with you the Aussie cars are soooo goood.. but have you seen my comparison video with the Kia and the Falcon?? The Kia did surprisingly well.. but yes build quality will be the deciding factor over time.. well wait and see I guess
@@RossReviewsau yeh lol Bro trust me I love the stinger but something about v8s and the inline 6 the v6 just aren't the same. But have to admit stinger and the genesis g70 are som bad ass cars
Nice looking car. It's a shame that with that number of cameras aboard plus Google software installed in the infotainment system, it seems that now your car will have the ability to listen and watch everything you do.
Seen a few of these around, they look stylish. Not sure how Holden and Ford shut down selling point made was 55k for the Holden all to buy back the equivalent at 60k. I guess that's the real problem with a board of directors and not an owner. No one gives a shit.
has the noises quality control improved? i have been told that in earlier models a lot poor quality knobs and controls, also much noise sounds throughout the interior........rattles and squeaks.......has the noises quality control improved? i have been told that in earlier models a lot poor quality knobs and controls, also much noise sounds throughout the interior........rattles and squeaks.......
thanks m8 glad your enjoying the channel :) i will be keeping an eye out on the price of these stingers.. will be interesting how much they depreciate n how fast
i highly doubt it! dont get me wrong it will never match up to a barra that engine is amazing.. but for a new car thats similar i think the stinger is the best we got! ive seen a modified one push 600whp.. decent but again its no barra..
Ross Reviews I think they are a nice car but was curious as to how far you can take the power. Agreed they are the closest replacement for the turbo Barra. I love my barras I’ve got a couple of them
Great review Ross, though in my opinion i do like the "door cards" on VF's by comparison to the Stinger, they look kinda "bland", VF's just have some nicer design elements in terms of looks overall.
thanks m8! glad you enjoyed the review.. yes the VF does have a really nice interior too, i especially like the door sides and dash they get.. very premium..
@@RossReviewsau The most stupid thing Ford ever did on the FG - FG X lineup was implement XR6 Turbo's standard with an LSD but G6E Turbo's an LSD wasn't available at all, most stupid thing they ever did. I traded my G6 for the Optima GT and haven’t looked back, I thought the Stinger was a bit overpriced. There is no doubt the Stinger is a better car than Ford or Holden ever put out.
westeh I said a G 6, the F6 is an entirely different kettle of fish try reading what I actually wrote. The Optima turbo is only slightly smaller but far better equipped, better leg and boot room, just as quick and has a far higher top end speed and does more than double the mileage of the G6. In the absence of Ford making a proper sedan anymore it’s a good good choice .
westeh it’s a better equipped car, the list of standard safety features far exceed anything the built into the falcon or Commodore range. The standard safety features in the G 6 amounted to ABS and ESC and that’s about it. Have a look at the standard features on the Kia range most if that is optional on BMW & Mercedes.
@@peterbuckley3877 anyone who can drive turns that all off bro. Have you noticed there is no comparison with an f6 or xr6 sprint and your car ? No , that's right it's compared to an antiquated push rod shit heap, Also the f6 was faster than the ls1 , ls2 and ls3 in stock form. Lastly, your car is as ugly as a hat full of assholes.
So bring out cheap crap then trap the market so it becomes totally unaffordable to make aussie cars and when u cant make em here they raise the price. Kia is just a kia. Was a very good review
its a shame we dont make cars here anymore but i can see how it was becoming to expensive with unions and high wages here in australia.. if only we where exporting are cars to more markets like the USA we might still have been in business 🤷♂️
Can't tell if you are acting or just haven't seen enough cars, the acceleration on the Stinger GT is not THAT impressive...I mean if you compare it to Commodores and Falcons then yeah but really it's just above average among modern cars, it definitely doesn't have a wow factor. The interior is nice for its price, but it's nowhere close to a Merc, if you can't tell the difference I have no words.
i found the acceleration to be very surprising.. felt Turbo Barra quick.. transmission was sorted the ride was great.. all from KIA! now yes my main comparison was to a holden or ford but man this car felt premium (not german equivalent) but really damn close for the price! for the size of vehicle, Price, over all feel... its was VERY impressive.. idk thats just me tho
@@RossReviewsau When I test drove it I was a little disappointed, but that might be because there were 3 people in the car and my sense of speed has been desenitised by riding 1000cc bikes lol. Ross the zl1 Camaro is $159,000 not $87,000! Also your review on the handling is way off, It’s been tested by a few race drivers and the handling is not it’s best suit, also interior quality has been and issue.
87,000 was based on the Camaro SS2 i may have used the wrong picture then if it was a ZL1 my apologies.. i gotta tell you for a big car it felt good! nibble, great steering.. handled in my eyes better than the XR6Sprint. interior quality well only time will tell but i ask you to sit in a top spec GT and not get out of it blown away by the interior..
Ross Reviews I have been in the top spec GT and I didn’t think the interior was as good as European cars, the plastics are cheap and rattles. It will be interesting to see how it looks in a few years, that’s the real test. As for it handling better than an xr6 sprint, I think you should have a look at the type of suspension both cars use, and I don’t agree that it’s nibble, it has a fair bit of body roll and weights nearly the same as the sprint
