I think that being a relatively young country, who went to great lengths to erase the indigenous cultures and strongly claiming independence from where many of us originated from, leaves us lacking a strong historical identity. That leaves many clinging to nationalism as a huge part of their identity. That’s another reason to appreciate, learn and support the many many cultures that live together here

To me nationalism represents what colossal pieces of shit my ancestors were to literally everyone that wasn’t them. I can’t be proud of where this country came from.
