Wasnt fond of it at release but honestly right now. Heck by half way through its first season this feels more WEST COAST than all of the previous. Super proud for the Eagles!! Win, Lose, Draw Im proud to be an Eagle Fan. Been alive for 2 of your Flags, hope to get some more throughout my life. And hopefully one day a full fledged member. Bring on 2021 Eagles!!!! great logo, love it. it has to resemble the crows and hawks logo because why?...ummm theyre birds. if you cant tell the immediate differences between the three logos then you probably need to rely on the team colours anyway. the thing i love most is that we wear our bird on our game jumpers - no boring traditional crappy stripes.
I think this will pay off if West Coast follow form and whip Collingwood. Combined with bringing back Hungry Jack's and the original jumper (and having Sam Mitchell as an assistant)....looks ominous mates.
I prefer the old style - but that could be because I am use to it and I don't like change. The look though, does have the same feeling as Philadelphia Eagles. I swear they pinched it off them, especially when they paired it off with the flat hats. But yeah I am growing to like it more.
do you know why the dockers got rid of the green from their logo and uniform, because you're a fan so I thought you'd know. I love the green and purple together too
Prince Haha looks nothing like the hawks logo, which is brown and gold and has a shield as well as pointing in the opposite direction. You do realise hawks and eagles are the two avian apex predators, so there supposed to look similar, but of course the eagle is the king of the birds :)
Prince They also maintained the most important part of the logo: the eagles head always faces east - towards.the big prize. West coast were the first club to do this after joining the competition sending a warning to their rivals.
Prince yeah after the eagles slayed the Hawks in QF, then for sime reason we had to play them at their home ground in the GF even tho we were higher ranked and had been the better team during the season. regardless the Hawks were worthy winners and would've destroyed any other team by a lot more at the G. Anyway none of that as anything to do with the logo which looks totally different to the Hawks. The Hawks and eagles are the 2 most succesful teams in AFL history (the proper competition) with 5 and 3 premierships respectively so they're the apex predators of the afl as well ☺.
Hamish Newman The eagles are older than the crows who came into the AFL later and copied west coast's original logo. This new one looks nothing like the crows or hawthorn's for that matter. If anything it's a copy of a certain NFL logo, but even then probably not.
