This is very awesome. We have made a Powerboost using NOS components for years now called the Powerdriver, but really liking these reissues. Great work guys.
Sounds great, does a good job of boosting and bringing out the natural tones of the guitar. Gets into fuzzy overdrive territory. Looks cool in the old school casing. Love that your keeping the british traditional pedals alive. One day I may own one of your pedals to use with the box style guitars I make and play here in the UK.
According to TV makers at the time removing tubes made their sets smaller. No one would buy a small set as they thought it was made small by dumbing it down. In short ...bigger was better. Later very small with early Cell Phones reversed the thinking as they cost more. So you can see that early players thought bigger pedals simply had to be better.
That enclosure chassis is not a colorsound enclosure its a Vox tone bender enclosure. I would have just asked an engineer to make a totally new solasound design and made a new circuit or team up with Jimmy Page to come up with a new circuit. Slapping a powerboost circuit into a Vox Tone Bender enclosure its not period correct. I would have preferred Solasound to come out with new circuit designs which you could have used those Vox Tone bender enclosures and came out with 3 to 5 new pedal designs with new 60s logos graphics just like the old colorsound graphics were. Put the 18vdc on a 2nd footswitch that is what I do so I can go from 9vdc to 18vdc for guitar solos to get more headroom, don't give me royalties or credit for throwing your a great idea. I'm trying to help your business out I can turn your business into selling those pedals like cupcakes you just need the ideas which I have.
