Nobody has been screwed over as bad as this man, yet, he remains grounded and motivated. Wrestling is better for having him back. ❤

Cary just went from one of the most underrated wrestlers to one of the best in his day. Hold up ya head up brother, we all recognize that you were the best in the world for multiple years. This series was a banger Flo. 🙏🏼

This was an awesome series. I was not familiar with this Cary’s story. Inspirational to continue to persevere through all the adversity. A true world champion.

Cary, when I think of wrestling, I think of you. You made an impression on many young wrestlers who saw you win your PIAA championships, myself included.

What a great series about Cary. I first knew about Cary from his instructional videos on RU-vid. I loved when he was on the Rudis wrestling podcast. Best of luck Cary.

Love this content. Cary got screwed!!! He handled it like a champion though when a lot of men wouldn't. Thanks for being a good example Cary! Class act!

I doubt most of us could have handled constantly ending up on the short end. It's as if there was a mission to keep him from gold REGARDLESS of what it took. Shameful.

As to why he left Penn State it’s weird how some coaches think they’re your boss instead of your coach and it usually backfires like it did with Kolat.

Not at all why he left. He definitely didn't tell the whole story. His dad has a lot to do with and it's also why he only had 2 NCAAs

Wow, thanks, Flo and Cary, for the journey. We need more of these for the sport. Hearing your first JO was your most memorable moment brought me to your last JO title. I was working my way up the officiating ladder and did your last match in Sharon, PA. Needless to say, it wasn't much of a match, but you were focused and pinned your opponent.

I think this is the reflection of a lot of top tier athletes once they achieve their dream goal. I grew up wrestling in PA and youth tournaments got you excited with friendship and hanging out in a different school every weekend. You traveled, weighed in, wrestled, and ate (slept) with your team. You bonded over win and loss. Before Junior high, dreaded weight cuts and fierce competition did not phase you. You were there enjoying it all. After JOs the battles get stronger but the rewards are greater in junior high and high school. Then, as you move onto college, I believe some wrestlers go thru valleys. Maybe they go to a college that draws in 100 people or less to watch which is nothing compared to the regional or even district level in PA. Some do go to big schools such as Penn St and then hit the olympic level and they're competing in Poland with 20-30 people watching. Before the Internet, this had to be hard. Flo has made it better but if you watch a lot of freestyle and international wrestling, the crowds are small. One might win worlds, but they're still thinking of what they had in their youth. To all the youngsters wrestling in heavy hitter states, soak up every moment when you're young.

Heard this story back in 1999... Is it true that Cary Kolat's house during his had monkey bars all around, so if Cary wanted to go to the bathroom, kitchen, etc he had to use the monkey bars? Also heard a story he had to do 100 pushups if he wanted to eat a cookie.

After watching Episode 1,2 and 3, I appreciate Cary’s wrestling move videos even more. The video doesn’t really explained how you got screwed over at the 2000 Olympics? I have many comments, but I like to leave you with just one comment Cary. Whatever your doing. It didn’t seem like you were having fun after high school. I sensed a lot of frustration and bitterness. Instead of focusing on trying to be the best wrestler in the world, you should have focused on going out on the mat and just having fun. Ciao.
