When I was around 5 or 6 I would look at each box of cereal to see which had the best toy inside or by mail. The late 60s was a GOOD time to be a kid.

At my house reading the cereal box was like Reading the Declaration of Independence! Everyone did it.

I bet Snap, Crackle & Pop threw some wild parties back in the day! When I was a kid Rice Krispie Treats were only available when mom made them for a school bake sale or as grade school birthday treats (sometimes with peanut butter and nobody died) and on an unrelated note we got Chex Mix at Christmas when my mom made it in the oven.

It's amazing to me how this channel can open windows to my childhood that I've forgotten about. I used to get a big glass of milk and eat the Rice Crispies out of the box, so the snap crackle pop would go off in my mouth. I haven't thought about that in years.

I remember listening to the snap crackle and pop when I was a kid. Okay Okay, I still listen and it still makes me smile.

Like many of the videos on this wonderful channel, it brings back memories of a simpler time when I was young and carefree. Always loved the Rice Krispies commercials, and the jingle. Yup, my biggest problem was having to come to dinner when I wanted to stay outside, or when I was still watching afternoon cartoons! Remember those? Thanks again for all you do! 👍🇺🇸😊

When I was a kid my sister enjoyed making Rice Krispies bars using marshmallow syrup. Always a great memory.

When Cocoa Krispies were first introduced, the mascot for the cereal was a caveman named Ogg, obviously inspired by the last syllable of the name Kellogg's.

When i was in elementary school in the 70's, the cooks in our cafeteria used to make peanut butter Rice Krispie bars! Awesome 😋😋😋...oooweee!! This was before the marshmallow became popular.

Lol, this might be silly, but when I was a boy, I loved music 🎶, and wanted to become a singer. I remember many times sitting down to a fresh bowl of Rice Krispies...Cold milk, and a "little" bit of sugar 💕. I would then close my eyes, and listen to the "Snap, Krackle, and Pop." In my imagination, it would become a roaring megacenter, filled with thousands of people, cheering me on! .....Then again, I'm a nerd. Sometimes it would sound like I'm in a poetry jam session, and I just got done....then, instead it would be a big cafe filled with people snapping their fingers.

Vernon Grant lived just up the road from us when I was growing up. I think my father had done some work for him or met some other way, but became friends. My oldest brother took art lessons from him. He has a whole gallery dedicated to him in my hometown museum.

I could eat an entire box of these in one sitting. They are so light and fluffy and stay with you for around an hour. Not much nutrition here. But a really good late-night snack.

That's awesome. Quickly becoming one of my favorite channels. Feels like I'm sitting in front of a TV in my PJ's watching Saturday morning cartoons with a bowl of Rice Krispies while one of my younger siblings is fidgeting with whatever toy came in the box. Speaking of which, how about a history of Saturday morning cartoons? I could Google it, I know, but where's the fun in that?

I remember the fruity marshmallow krispies during the 80s. They were delicious when I was a kid.

I used to work at a posh restaurant and loved plaiting my long hair. At the time, I had a Snap, Crackle, Pop set of barrettes and I would place them by order of their names down my braid. One day, Chef Jim walked by me and stopped. He had quite a naughty mouth, and he suddenly said, 'Do you know you have 3 ******* little men in your hair?' Everyone broke up laughing! That is such a fond memory for me to this day. Snap! Crackle!! Pop!!! Rice Krispies! X

Loved Rice Krispies and Rice Krispies treats of course. Sometime in the 70’s I think they came up with Frosted Rice which used Tony the Tiger’s son as the mascot. I really loved that sugary cereal.

my Grandmother always let my brother and I eat our Rice Crispies out of little vases shaped like a pony and a little cow. We had special tiny spoons to get the cereal out of the legs of the animals. LOL I still have the vases. I wish I could show pictures of them here. They have become quite collectable, but I will never part from them because of the Snap, Crackle and Pop.

On the subject of Rice Bubbles, since 1937, when the receipe first appeared in the Australian Woman Weekly magazine, generations of children in Australia and New Zealand have been subjected to Chocolate Crackles. These are made with a simple receipe consisting of Rice Bubbles, cocoa powder, coconut and melted copha with the mixture spooned into paper cupcake cups and set in the fridge. Fond memories of greasy texture, sweet as, break your teeth.

Rice Krispie Treats! Love them, especially made with peanut butter! Yum!

I always poured Bosco on my Rice Krispies, sometimes Quik.

This was one of the only fun cereals my late mother would allow me to have. Another fond memory I have of Snap, Crackle, and Pop was their likenesses' were were ascertained by a shock rock group known as Green Jelly (formerly known as Green Jello) for a song titled "Son of Toucan Sam". In the video, Toucan Sam's alter-ego whos name I just mentioned kills of mascots representing other cereal brands-including Snap, Crackle. and Pop. I still like Rice Krispies today!

We had a baby sitter that made rice crispy treats with chocolate chips in them. So good.

Loved me some Rice Krispies as a youngster. A teaspoon of sugar to sweeten them a bit, and it was on. But you had to eat them quick, before they turned into paste. And the Rice Krispies Treats are STILL an occasional staple of my diet. 😁👍

The only cereal that sang to you in the morning when, you poured milk over it. Rice Crispy’s Cereal and Post Raisin brand were my favorite 2 cereals. Even though we ate a lot of others that were popular in the era when, I was growing up, those were the 2, I gravitated to.

My father never had the 15 cents to send in with the box tops , nor the 5 cents to buy a stamp , so he said at the time .

I was always a cereal 🥣 addict... I was born in '71' so cereal was definitely a big part of our Saturday morning cartoon/cereal culture .. wonderful days.. Having said that, I realize it was the older days, but those original characters looked a little frightening lol..

In the 1960s Kellogg's came out with metal cereal spoons that had them on the handle - had to send a box top and a small amount of money - I think you taped a quarter to the box top. We had all three of them. Waiting for them to come in the mail was HELL - seemed to take forever! - but, just like in A Christmas Story, when they did arrive it was excitement!

Anyone remember Quisp and Quake cereals?

In Australia and New Zealand, Rice Krispies are named Rice Bubbles. The reason for this appears to have been lost in the midst of time- even the Kellogg company in Australia cannot provide an answer. It appears that when they were introduced to the Australian market circa 1930, someone just decided to market them under that name.

As a man in my 50s this is still today my favorite cereal I love this for Breakfast and the still snap crackle and pop

My sister makes marshmallow treats with peanut butter out of rice crispies. I could a dozen of those treats. Save a few for Mrs. Alan and daughter Amanda.

It was either malt-o-meal or Rice Krispies for breakfast as far back as I remember

When I first saw the 3D render I immediately said "oh god no". But on the actual boxes they definitely look more cartoony and artsy than just a 3D model.

As a kid/young teen in the 60's, Rice Krispies were actually one of the better cereals out there along with Oat Meal and Wheaties. There were so many cereals that were just sugar with a little bit of grain thrown in so it wasn't 100% yuck....so yea, RK was good. Besides my aunt used to make Rice Crispy "brownies" that were quite delicious.

Cereal giveaways were very popular back then. Finding little giveaways in the box was better. Didn't have to send for them. I loved Rice Krispies. The sounds didn't do anything for me either way. Thanx as always👌

I was not familiar with the history of the Snap, Crackle, and Pop characters. I have to say that I really like the original illustrations. I glad to hear that Kellogg paid the creator very well. A quarter of a million dollars is a lot of money these days, it was a huge amount back then.

I loved the toys when I was a little boy. I lost interest around 1964 or so but my younger brother kept the tradition a live in the family until around 1970.

Now the Rice Krispies gnomes look like characters from Jimmy Neutron. 😆

I thought our neighbor lady “invented” the RC Treats - no? Who did? They showed up one Halloween day back in the 50’s

My mom would make Rice Krispie Treats only with Cocoa Crispies, and Nestle Chocolate chips and she'd put Hershey's cocoa powder in the marshmallow mix. we'd have to wait for them to completely cool so she could put a layer of chocolate over top before cutting into bars. Carrying Me, she craved Hershey's syrup on mashed potatoes. Yes. I'm a Choco-holic.

I love Rice Krispies but unfortunately they don't sell it here in Germany, although they sell just about every other brand of Kelloggs.

We were mainly a "Post" family, ("Honeycomb" has been one of my "right out of the box" TV snacks for almost 50 years,LOL) But I've had my share of Kellogg's too. Kellogg knew how to make memorable "mascots" for their ads.

I was a Peanut Butter Crunch man myself. My brother liked Quisp. Captain Crunch would leave your mouth raw, it was so crunchy.

As a kid I used to sprinkle crack cocaine on top of my rice krispies instead of sugar to watch my weight.

Always had sliced banana. Never cared for tart or sour fruit in my cereal. I think Krispies were the one cereal I liked without adding sugar. (On top of all that sugar already)

What you don't know is snap had a twin brother. He was lost when he got stuck in a experimental Rice crispy treat machine and drowned in marshmallow. They don't like to talk about it.

Were they not superheroes for a time aswell? Late 80's through to the early 90's or maybe just over here in the UK. There are or were so many Cereal Mascots from Tony The Tiger to the Wheato's Professor.

That cereal always has undissolved sugar in the bottom of the milk.

When I was a kid I liked Rice Krinkles. It was pre sweetened Rice Krispies and had an Asian boy as it's mascot. Would definitely be politically incorrect nowadays, like Aunt Jemima, Uncle Ben, Eskimo Pies, and the LandoLakes Indian maiden. Makes you wanna light up a Lucky, grab a Schlitz, and watch Gone With The Wind.

Ironic, they went back to the oversized heads like the original gnomes. the new 3D SCP do nothing for the brand. They're not recognizable to the people < Boomers> who eat the most basic cold cereals, Rice Krispies, Corn Flakes, Cheerios and Bran Buds.
