@@MrBern-ex3wq That's how he basically died. In a pool of green slime saving the PC pally. I'm not sure which death bothered me the most in Legion, Varian or Tirion.

It wasn't in a pool of green slime though, that's just the Krosus scene. Tirion died for real at the entrance to some temple's ruins in the Broken Shore. The Paladins actually had some hope of saving him but in the end it didn't happen.

@@MrBern-ex3wq well when i played the Krosus scene, it showed him his floating corpse "Dead" so i supposed he was dead there

I think it more of a reverse placebo effect, and it kinda worked for a while.

@@Styder111 It worked because it cast doubt on Tirion which is also what happened to Arthas after the purge and it's not what Uther intended he thought he could actually strip it from him.

@@Arigost If he let Uther do it, it probably stripped him of all the holy energy inside of him at the moment But the only thing he needed for the light to infuse him again was resolve, and faith renewed Doubt was probably the weak point of paladins (and priest) back then

@@Arigost Yeah, the Light responds to the faith and conviction of the wielder. It's why the Scarlets still have their powers. It's what drove Liadrin to do the terrible things she did to create the Blood Knights after what happened to her as a priest.

@@ReikaLady I almost lost my connection to the Light after the burning of Teldrassil, but the true spirit of the Horde kept me going during that dreadful war. Saurfang's sacrifice and the new council have restored my faith.

You forgot Balnazar, who tortured him afterwards. The one dreadlord, who one-shot Tirions compagnion Dathrohan and divided the Silver Hand remnants in a matter of months.^^

Dude Broxigar who was in a book for WoW hurt Sargeras then died to him. But Tirion just stood there and died it was a terrible fate.

I've never heard that much about Eitrig and Saurfang until recently digging through lore, and they played a role in pretty much everything in subtle (and not so subtle) ways, that's incredible.

@@kurfurstecouqmebreux8116 Garona was not part of the "Old" Horde though. The old Horde would constitute just Orcs and some Ogres so it would make sense that none of the original horde are alive today. Garona as far as I know was never really part of the Horde until they decided to just add her to it in BFA etc.

I was a bit shocked that he died so soon too but after watching this video and knowing how old he was. He had already accomplished what he set out to do in defeating the Lich King.

To me it's more that, if one allows it (Tyrion accepted his judgement), you can absorb his holy energy from him at the time, then doubt appears and keeps said paladin from calling the light again. Not many paladin must've felt this darkness of being stripped of their light, i suppose hence explaining the whole process. They probably had no idea you could call the light again after that, but Tirion mustered enough resolve to kill the doubt residing in his soul, and become once again a vessel for the light. To me this is how i make sense out of it all

I think it has to do with faith. By both Uther telling someone they are taking the light, and the excuminucated paladin believing the light is being taken away is what causes the despair; and the subsequent loss of light. The act of not believing in the light, is enough to lose access to it. In my opinion. If we are to assume that light/life is the same or similar to the other elements, this could explain Thrall as well.

I would assume that they thought of the Light to work similar to how mages pass on and take their powers from the Guardian etc. There is still so much more to learn about the light that Uther and the rest could not have understood it enough to not know that you could not just remove the lights powers from someone. I mean at one point it was thought of that the undead could not use the light but here we have undead priests...............

I thought the souls started going directly to the maw after Greymanne broke that lantern Sylvanas was using to imprison that golden Valkyr person in Stormheim? So he would be safe right? Or am I totally wrong on when the maw shenanigans started?

That is because Pre WOTLK is all based on the warcraft games and the stories from them.

its his gift, when the moment comes he'd choose the worst option. idk why blizz trying to sell him as hero or something. tirion is the most beloved paladin, they shouldnt waste him with the artifact quest, maybe a reason to give away ashbringer but not actual death.

I think there is a more interesting question behind that one. If you think how the shadowlands work, it is actually something like an afterlife. Where exactly you go depends on how you lived, right? So if you create a Death Knight, and the Death Knight dies, it is known if his soul would go into the shadowlands, or is it actually doomed. Where does it go then? (I didn't look or read to much about Shadowlands, since I don't want to spoil to much before actually playing it myself) The situation now with the Maw is another one for sure, but what happens to the soul even if you save it short term (so to speak) in the long run?

Paladins aren't all THAT huge in the lore tho, nor linked to an incredible entity The light is still something we don't know much about anyway

Paladins are not as unique or hard to come by as Death Knights or Demon Hunters. It's easy to see why DHs are so rare, they came from Illidan, he was stopped in BC and now he's no longer with us to make more. So they are a rare breed. Death Knights may not seem like it now, but back in Wrath, when the class was introduced, they were. The Ebon Blade was a one time slip up, one mistake from the part of the Lich King that cost him his defeat. Before that, no single Death Knight had ever escaped the Lich King's control. And after his fall up until the Legion invasion, no new Death Knights were made. Plus, both of these classes come from a story of great loss and sacrifice. Whether it's giving your life for your world and then being returned or sacrificing your soul to become a weapon for your world, those two are way bigger commitments, way more dire choices and fates, than becoming a Paladin will ever be. I'm not saying Paladins are worthless, but their creation is not nearly as heavy on the subject as the making of a Death Knight or a Demon Hunter is.

I think thats a bit difficult. You could say similar things about every class that has some magic abilities like Priests, Shamans, Druids, Mages. They all have connections to certain powers. Honestly, I don't really give a damn if a class is called class or hero class. Its just that the hero classes have their own intro storyline/questline and don't start at 0. Thats basically the difference, and to me it looks like it is only done by Blizzard to call those classes something else to show the difference. These days, you are treated like a hero anyway, regardless what class you play. But it is true that lorewise at least, DKs and DHs would be way less common, since there was a rather limited amount of them who existed in the first place.

It doesn’t make sense that you’ll just find, in a place like Northshire or some dusty shithole in Durotar, an assassin capable of turning invisible and masterfully dual wielding weapons to perform acrobatic attacks, or a mage capable of summoning fire and ice to destroy foes (which supposedly takes years of training in a place like Dalaran), or most of all, a literal evil class like a warlock, who summons horrible demons and blasts their enemies with unholy afflictions and fel magic. You gotta mostly separate the gameplay from the lore when it comes to the characters we play as. If we’re going off of how common they are in the lore as judgement for being a hero class, then Marksman hunters and warriors would be like the only ones who wouldn’t be hero classes because warriors and archers exist everywhere.

Im not arguing against ads but THIS MANY. I'll happily watch 2 maybe 3 ads if its a long video but desr fucking god an ad every 4 - 5 minutes???
