My first thought on this story was “why him though?” I honestly didn’t think he was prominent enough to be targeted in that way. And that was likely his first mistake. He made too much of himself in his own mind and because he wasn’t as popular as he thought he was, smelling the BS wasn’t difficult.

Being from Chicago, this story is just upsetting. There are families that suffer from the gun violence here that don't get that much attention. In my opinion, that's the difference between democrats and conservatives. Democrats support each other, but not to the point that they would turn a blind eye to someone doing something wrong. Republicans simply deflect. Not matter what Trump does, all we hear is "but Hilary..." "her emails", and "jobs". (not speaking for every single person; just a general observation) I greatly respect Trevor for doing the same to Hilary when she said that what Bill did wasn't sexual harassment because Monica wasn't a minor and then deflected the very next second asking what about Trump.

When this story first came out, I said that he doesn't look very beat up for a guy who got supposedly beat up. No bruises on his face, barely a cut and the bleach thing was straight up strange. Also his hands, he said that he fought back but his hands are barely damaged with no bruises at least from what pictures I've seen.

Part of the reason people took issue with CPD attempting to get hold of JS's phone was BECAUSE they've got such a bad rap. Their history of police brutality and corruption made it easy for everyone the cops were up to something, when they had legitimate suspicions and were actually doing their job. That's something every LEO all over the country should consider--any dirt they do tarnishes the badges of everyone on the force.

Every time he does an African accent, he just does a Afrikaans or Xhosa accent and banks on Americans not knowing the difference. And it works lol. Though he apparently also speaks Tswana and Tsonga. So I know he knows how to do other African accents, which makes it funnier

If you haven't watched the whole interview. It's clear he's very uncomfortable. He smiles, blinks a lot, mixes his tone from whispering to feigning anger and breaks eye contact several times 3:10 -- from a body language perspective it's actually pretty awful acting. He even smiles after he says he's the "gay Tupac" when he performed on stage in LA. If you're a victim, why are you cracking jokes and smiling? I would be shook and pissed (showing it, not saying it). EDIT: He provides irrelevant details in the interview when asked a question. That's another red flag.

Dude. Trevor, don't you think you kinda let him off a little easy? This wasn't just a hoax, it was it's own kind of hate crime, maybe he's a good actor but if he is that wasn't a very good performance, it was fishy from the get-go. Lots of people picked up on that, definitely not an oscar-winning performance.
